Electric is great but only if its primarily used in a Warehouse or campus setting where electricity is always available nearby. If so, it can be parked charging next to the electric forklift and golf cart. On a typical construction site, it wouldn't work, theres no where to plug it in overnight.

I am sure there are some use cases where the equipment is taken back to some type of commercial building, headquarters, depot, or even single family residence where power supply isn’t an issue. Keep an eye out for products like Tesla MegapackXL, which is essentially a giant battery that can be used remotely with a solar setup, or grid-tied at a longer termed construction site. It can be placed on a site for days, weeks, or years and recharge lots of electric equipment whenever it is not in use. Sure there are many sites where there is no electrical service, and dozens of large machines are used, but that’s not where the industry is starting. They’re starting small and developing from there. On the other end of the spectrum there are several open pit ore mines around the globe that use 230 ton, and larger, earth haulers that are 100% electric. They are able to drive twice as fast as the diesel and take way less maintenance as well as being much quieter and less fatiguing on the body.

Second problem, while you're waiting FOREVER for it to recharge the battery, I can fuel up and be back to work in less than 5 minutes, maybe 10 if you have to drop the kids off at the pool😂😂! Diesel ALL THE WAY, besides I love the sound and the smell
Forever to recharge? If you’re waiting for it to recharge, then you’ve done it wrong. One of the benefits of going electric is the convenience: plug it in overnight and when it is time to use it the next day, it’s all ready to go. Takes a few seconds to plug it in and unplug it, that’s all. No waiting around for fueling, or having to interrupt work to add hydraulic fluid. Love the sound. Ok. How about preserving hearing, not needing to wear hearing protection, and being able to communicate with other people verbally without having to shout on a job site? Those are nice advantages as well. The smell? Brings back nostalgia for me as well, but also carcinogenic and leads to lower IQs, asthma attacks, and in confined spaces requires active ventilation systems which cost money and time to set up, so… Maintenance takes time and money. For every dollar you spend on maintenance of diesel, you’ll spend about $0.10 with electric. The new Bobcat can be used all day for $1 worth of electricity and has zero hydraulic fluid costs. 30 gallons of diesel probably costs $150. Plus, it can lift more.
You are right on @aaronbounds1336 . Electric is CONVENIENCE! You don't need to spend any (comparatively) time with downtime. The maintenance schedule completely removes the engine, which is a huge part of reliability. It's just a high flow electric pump (which I would hope is a Drive/Drive pump). Charge it (overnight unless you get a DC fast charger on a genset) and it will run for your typical workday, that's all there is to it. You'll change tracks, attachments and hydraulics as they are damaged or wear out. Quietness cannot be overstated either.
Until you have to spend 15hrs to charge it. I’ll keep the diesel option. A Jerry can is way easier to transport than having a charging doc.
15 hours is a bit long. Overnight for 10 hours is possible. It’s no harder to plug in than a corded tool like a drill. Or a cell phone.
