honestly queen of kpop. literal.. saved SM from bankruptcy, was first idol to go through the idol training without her there would be no kpop as we know it now, first idol to make it big in japan and introduce kpop to it. one of the best dancers in kpop. incredible voice, starred in a hollywood film way before people really knew what kpop was. if im not mistaken toured with a known US group/singer. is a director at the company.. the fact she debuted at the age of 14 is currently nearing her 24th anniversary in the industry.. MOTHER FING QUEEN... i really hope the rumour of her single comeback soon is real.. i need more boa
Her journey is something for the history books in kpop. The reason she holds such a high status in the industry is because of how hard she worked in her early years to pave a path for the next generation of idols to come up. Without BoA and her expanding not only into japan where she was very popular, competing with japanese idols these idols include Ayumi Hamasaki, Kumi Koda, Namie Amuro... Etc etc. who are huge and probably some of the most influential jpop artist to ever come out at that time. She also became quite popular within china and taiwan as well. Her best selling album valenti which sold 1.25 million copies in japan which was basically unheard of for a korean artist at that time also sold really well across all of asia, She is what i call a pillar in kpop. Also BoA helped the system and almost polished like quality of kpop forward, now dont get me wrong kpop and its idols that debut before BoA are amazing artist but you can definitely see a difference from when she entered into the kpop scene there was almost this manufactured polish about her when she debut at 13, her vocals were already stunning and her dancing was already top notch at that age. BoA as an artist truly shined in her early work in japan from her debut album in 2001 till about 2009 then when she came out of hiatus and back from america in 2010 in korea she has been releasing flawless music and concepts in korea since, her japanese career has almost taken a back seat to her korean career if that make sense. Although she has released multiple bops in japan as well since like Jazzclub and Amor. But where she truly shines is definitely on stage, she has this Michael jackson quality about her, and her dancing is what i consider the best in kpop.
@roguereacts amazing! I don't think minors should debut but it still speaks to her skill and hard work what she was able to do at such a young age and only two years of training!
Loved this reaction. It was my first time hearing "Forgive Me" as well, so it was doubly awesome. The rap part in that song, took me by surprise. In all the years i have listened to her songs, i dont remember hearing her rap. Just shows that even this late in her career, she is still evolving. I do know that she has a new single coming out tomorrow.
Could you please react to the Show Dancing Queens on the road. Kim Wansun, Om Jung hwa, Lee Hyori, Boa and Hwasa participated in this show. They traveled around South Korea and performed on various stages. Also, in honor of the end of the show, they released the song Rainbow.
Great stuff ! As mentioned in a previous BoA reaction, TWICE have covered My Name as well as Valenti. I think Valenti and The Shadow both got lost in the list of MVs to react to ?
Woman gives such Ayumi Hamasaki vibes to me, I love it! This sound takes me right back to the mid 2000s when I had just discovered Jpop before being completely sidetracked and sucked into the kpop fandom instead 😂 I do hope you listen to some of BoA's Japanese releases in your own time because there is so much and it's all fabulous Better is such a jam. I think it's my fave BoA song The funny thing is that the styling in her most recent stuff is similar to her early stuff since the fashion trends came back around 😂
Boa had got the beat and the traveling dance queens show as well she was filming a drama last year she is supposed to have a track out this year but idk if it’s a album or not but they have just said a track, she has Also produced nct wish so she been busy lol 😂
One shot two shot was the title track nega Dola was her pre release single which at the time she hadn't done that since 2010 with game In Korea at least.
unfortunately it wasn't recommended to me until after I finished the mv videos and I can't get to them all! 😭 I do have a nice little performance video of the two of them coming up in the lives!

The first "Dancing Queen". Debuted at 13. Queen of K-pop. !!!
I can't believe she debut at 13 and was already filled with talent!! 😲
@roguereacts amazing! I don't think minors should debut but it still speaks to her skill and hard work what she was able to do at such a young age and only two years of training!

"girls on top" in Woman is a reference to BoA's 2005 song Girls on Top. That song also inspired the name for the SM super girl group :)
I'm still not over camo after it's release 😭😭😭😭
I can 1000% see why that song is amazing!! One of my top favs! 🥰

She's motherrrr
Truly lol
If you think BoA's 'Camo' influenced Aespa, you should rewatch the last 10 seconds of Black Mamba's MV, lol
I rewatched it!! 👀👀
You also missed "Nega Dola", which I think was around the same time as One Shot, Two Shot. I can't remember which one was the title track.
One shot two shot was the title track nega Dola was her pre release single which at the time she hadn't done that since 2010 with game In Korea at least.
I know there are a lot of mvs we didn’t explore during her solo week. 😭 I did pre-warn everyone that we wouldn’t get to everything 😔
CAMO YASSSSSSSSSS
one of my favs!!! 🥰
React to her newly released mv “emptiness”
dont' worry going to be doing it tomorrow!

So sad you didn't watch the Disturbance MV 😢
