i was homeless 14 years ago after splitting with a gf and i went to halton council runcorn after paying them for years explained my situation i was told your white and male your not at risk. Nothing we can do
I'm ashamed of my country so many homeless people, last year while visiting my home town a young man asked me for a coffee which i did buy also a cake and sandwiches. He said that he had been living in a tent for 18 months and he had kept being moved on , when he moved to Brighton thinking it would be better he was told to go back to Eastbourne .
The problem is, is that there are so many people ending up on the streets because of lack of social support. The drugs and alcohol tends to come after as a way of numbing the pain. Or even the other way around…having such an awful situation that they succumb to those things and lose everything. I think we need to look at this differently as a society. So many homeless people are just labelled as “scum” They’re not. They’re humans in distress, with a real story and who deserve help and human dignity
Yes you should. I kept a homeless man on my basement for nearly 2 weeks whem it was cold outside. He was surprisingly down to earth and extremely funny

I'm sorry but to ask a homeless person what food they want is ridiculous. Either eat what you're given or go without. Besides, what if they pick something more expensive than you had in mind? It's happened to me before and the lady was so entitled and got upset that I didnt want to spend £16 on her. Don't give them money. If you're gonna give food, don't ask what food they want. You pick
