    I never seen one of these where the allies win.

    4:40 that was the shot that won this, I swear 80% of big ship battles in this game are determined by who blows up the other's turrets first

      Yeah the P.o.W had weaker turrets than the Bismarck so yeah Bismarck had this one on one fight in the bag. It’s no wonder the British feared the Bismarck so much!

      @@stevenmoore4612 if your talking about irl the POW if its battle ready which is wasnt during the battle of the denmark strait it would probably beat the bismarck bc it had a thicker armor belt more guns and even tho they were smaller they could penetrate bismarcks armor and the POW shells also had a bigger than usual explosive charge the prince of wales also had a more modern design but u are correct that the bismarck had thicker armor on the turrets but that dosent really mean everything

    In a fight it don't matter how big you are or how fast you are, or how big your guns are, it only takes a lucky hit or two. The destruction of Hood proves my point. If you have two smaller ships on either side of a big ship the big ships fire needs to be split to take on both ships else the one not under attack can take as many shots that it likes unhindered and with greater effect and accuracy.

  • @stevenmoore4612
    @stevenmoore4612 2 года назад

    Probably almost historically accurate if the Bismarck and Prinz Eugen decided to chase the Prince of Wales after Hood blew up.

    • @lukasakesson2024
      @lukasakesson2024 6 месяцев назад

      well the prince of wales was brand new and had not been made battle ready yet when it was sent after bismarck so if it had been made battle ready it would have been a whole different story

      @@lukasakesson2024 Yeah I’m not sure why they didn’t send the George V with Hood to intercept the Bismarck and Eugen. She had been in service since October of 1940 and she would’ve been a much more capable frontline unit to send against the Bismarck being that by may of 41 she would’ve had all her issues worked out by then especially with the new quad turrets that were suffering from issues on the PoW, since she literally just commissioned a month prior to the battle with Bismarck. Given George V’s performance against Bismarck is the final battle she probably would’ve hit the Bismarck more than the PoW did in the Denmark strait.

    Great job done by Japanese torpedo bombers.
    Prince of Wales had earlier managed to escape by launching smoke screen bombs ,in the Battle of Denmark Straits in May 1941 .
    The honour of sending HMS Prince of wales to the locker of Old Davy Jones was left for the Japanese

      I mean that’s historically accurate though. Bismarck sunk the Hood and along with Prinz Eugen kicked the bells out of the Prince of Wales. The Bismarck and Prinz Eugen probably could’ve finished her off too if they choose to pursue Prince of Wales, but they had orders not engage British warships if they didn’t have to so they let her go with some pretty serious damage.

      @@stevenmoore4612 the ship itself didint suffer much damage only 1 of the 4 shells from the bismarck that hit the prince of wales exploded and from a shell that didint explode some equipment was destroyed and a fire control director was put out of action which could probably be repaired and some minor flooding from a shell that hit below the water line and the shell that exploded only caused splinter damage which isnt that severe in fact it could continue to shadow bismarck after it disengaged.

    As ever,the Nazis win,without damages,scratches to paintwork,etc.Somehow the Nazis score hit after hit,but the RN cannot hit anything.Very well realised video,though,very good!

      Not really Bismarck did take a few nasty hits in this engagement. And also that’s somewhat historically accurate tho lol. The Brits weren’t exactly the worlds greatest marksman. They didn’t exactly focus on gunnery like the Germans did and mostly focused on how good their ships looked. The Germans by contrast had a pretty good accuracy record from both world wars.

      @@sobobwas6871 Nowhere. What I stated is fact. The Brits did practice gunnery training yes but were still more focused on how their ships looked over actually training their crews properly for combat. I’m not saying that the Brit’s couldn’t hit they were decently good marksman with a few instances of lucky shots during the wars but the Germans did too them. The Germans trained their crews hard on gunnery training. Look no further than Jutland and other engagements where German accuracy shined.

      @@stevenmoore4612 beyond you manifest inability to write English you really should learn more. You reference Jutland and fail to make any differentiation between the scouting force vs Beatty or the grand fleet against scheer. Or reflect upon the fact that in WW2 the British fleet was the force that ran down all major elements of the German navy until it ceased to exist. This required the British navy to accept that the German ships only engaged at a time of their choosing. As a simple case in point the longest battleship to battleship hit is attributed to HMS warspite in the med.
