Hello Friends! In this video I am cleaning decluttering and packing a few areas of my home (fridge, dining room, loft, utility closet) because WE ARE MOVING and DOWNSIZING. I am moving to a much smaller home, therefore, it's important that I declutter before moving because we just don't have the space in the new home. Our new home is 1200 sq ft. while our current home is 2800 sq ft. We are at the tail end of moving and need to get some smaller areas packed up and decluttered.

Hey 👋 moving is fun but so stressful. It’s a great idea to declutter before you move. You will have less to move and stress about where to put it all. Wow 16 years congratulations.
Hello! Decluttering before we moved was the best thing I could have done. It took a while for me to see how much it helped but I see it now. Thank you for the anniversary wishes! Have a great weekend.
My husband is a builder. We are in our early 60’s and have moved a lot over the years.
The moves have been within a 5 to 25 mile radius which made it easier, but you still have to pack it all up and move it.
We moved again into a new home in December 2021. It was probably the hardest move.I think that had a lot to do with us getting older and my husband has a handicap from failed knee replacement surgeries ( total of 18 surgeries) that eventually left him with a steel rod in his leg.
I decluttered so much stuff way before we moved.
Going through my clothes, shoes and etc.
This move was also very emotional for me.
I can’t explain it.
Going through everything brought back some bad memories and some good ones.
I donated alot and gave our son and his wife lots of things.
I don’t miss anything I have gotten rid of but I think twice now before spending on stuff.

Hello Sherry! Thank you for sharing your moving story with me. Moving is hard and everything seems to get a bit harder as we age also. I'm sorry to hear about your husbands knee, I'm sure that's been hard for him to navigate through. I've learned that decluttering is very much tied to emotions, especially if you are someone that holds special value to your belongings. I completely understand how you must have felt, I am feeling that now. I 100% plan on being intentional with anything I bring into my home from now on. I don't think I can do this again, it's hard on the body and mind. I hope you are settled in and enjoying your new home!

Hi Friends! We are almost at the finish line, I can’t believe how far we’ve come. Wheww 😊 We are now exploring options to get our home sold! I’ll talk more about that when I know the outcome of our first option. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

We tried to sell almost everything since we knew we’d have to ship things and the cost of shipping sucks. That’s great to hear that the bedroom set lasted you all for so long. You all deserve a new bed set for sure mama.
I can't imagine how much shipping will cost. My husband will make everything last FOREVER if he could haha.

If you think about it, every single item you pick up can instantly trigger a memory and you think on it for a sec, move onto the next item and again another memory. Totally enlightening! I haven't moved in awhile but we did the same thing instead of moving a bigger items we sold it and held on to the money to get new stuff when we moved and it worked out pretty well for the most part
It makes more sense than to save it right? I’m all about making my spaces more functional at this time and I just know this big bulky furniture won’t work in the house we are moving too. Glad my hubs was open to it 🎉

Your doing so well! I moved apartments and was getting rid of so much less and it was overwhelming. Try some space bags (ziplock brand - there are others too) for all the soft stuff like blankets. It would be good for long term storage too
Thank you so much! Moving is definitely overwhelming. Hope you’re all moved in. My husband did space vacuum all of the blankets, thank goodness. I didn’t have the patience for it. He also space vacuumed my wedding dress! I was amazed ❤️
Hi,I´m one of those that just found your channel´I an watching from Sweden and I´m so inspired. I have decluttered A LOT in resent years but am still working on it. We moved from a house to an apartment five years ago, which ment downsizing to a third of square feet so the big declutting happend then but ever since I have kept getting rid of things and it feels so good. Decluttering and letting go of things is absolutely a proces, you let go a little bit at a time. I´m looking forward to seeing you setting up you house in Texas and good luck on selling your house.

@@SheWolfMom I love having less space and things to take care of! Once our youngest moves out we will downsize more and I'm working toward that all the tine. And I know what you mean about liking your home more now that it's empty, we took away so much stuff before selling our house so that it would be attractive for buyers and I loved that. It's a struggle between loving stuff and loving less, since I love both, ha ha!

Erica, you did such a fantastic job of decluttering. I so love how you let go of so much stuff like your daughters dance costumes. What a kind gesture to help others. I know when I had to let clothes memories go, I took a picture of it to save and that helped me so much. I also want to encourage you to remember that you are not just moving down the street, you are moving to another State. Even though, you know where you are going and having you old home back, you are still changing so much like where you shop, neighbors, friends and routines that you had for many years. Please give your self grace like your friend said to . Put the oxygen mask on you so you can give it to others. I loved watching you pack up those clothes. Oh a new fridge will be nice. Ours is so new we decided to take it and leave the old one behind haha! I am happy with that decision, although moving it was rough.
How many times did you go up and down those stairs bet you guys got a lot of exercise going up and down. Like you said your daugther dosent want it well that is going to the big thing im going to tackle next my daughter is 22 and married ive given her 2 weeks to come go through her stuff or im going to do it one week has past she better get moving on it because when i hit it look out ive been wanting a prayer room and craft room and a room for inside christmas villiage ect. There are something i cant get ride of just yet my mom made them for her the memorie of mom means so much more to me right now( miss mom so much). It was hard to watch you dumping the food because i was so hungry that day im watching the 2nd time because i had fallen asleep im so glad i did. Hello! We went up and down those stairs way too much, lol, I know I am not going to miss them. Stairs make everything a little bit harder. You absolutely need a room that is yours, I love that. I always tell my husband that I am making myself a massive closet in one of my kids rooms when they leave home. I may have to rethink that, but a room for YOU is perfect. I hope your daughter takes a look at her belongings soon. You'll have to let me know her reaction to it all. I'd love to know. Sending you a big hug for your mama! Hi i so enjoy watching you go through this it is so hard to move. I dont care for stairs eather they make me so dizzy especially when the sun is out, i know for me as my body ages my joint hurt more from doing staris.
