Typically (like this one), the lounge is in the middle, so that there’s a clear view and plenty of light from the windscreen. Like any motor home, there’s compromises. For just over half a million quid I'd expect a private toilet. A toilet where you could go in and do your business in private and keep the smells locked away. I would not use that toilet for fear of stinking out the whole motorhome. The design team needs to think again.
Without going into your fear of others smelling your bodily odors; what makes you think there aren't fans keeping any possible smells at bay? Motorhomes one tenth of this price has them, why would this be any different? It's just the bathroom that's slightly larger.
Love that living room! American designers need a trip to Europe to take note! Very impressive! Well done! The only drawbacks I could find were the lack of door between the bedroom and bathroom and guys! Those outside steps need to be much wider!
Nice however that bathroom/ is badly thought out. If someone is having a crap you gotta smell it in the kitchen and bedroom at tge same time. Bathroom should have been placed behind the bedroom or to the side at least.
I believe it's there because if it was at theback or side, there would be no room for the garage. That's why many other brands have the garage in the middle with a slide out parking spot
Fantastic video as always. I must say I find this thing a little disappointing for what it appears to be from the outside. I feel like it compromises a lot in attempting to look like a house/apartment, when the space could be used a lot more creatively if it allowed itself to be more of a mobile home.
No this is designed for the European market. Mainland Europe is geared up so much better for motorhomes than the U.K. you wouldn’t buy one of these to visit Cornwall more like Austria, Bavaria & France.
@@Jabber-ig3iw Shorter wheelbase also means less stability. RVs with low wheelbase to length ratios are heavily over represented in crash statistics. For safety and driver fatigue reasons the wheelbase should be well over 50% (54% is close to ideal as far as stability vs maneuverability goes) and the tag should put it close to 60%. That ratio needs to increase if all the overhang is at one end. If you have ever drive a vehicle with a large side surface area you know the effect that wind has. That gets amplified by a the overhang (acts like a lever). My coach is 42'10" and has a 261" wheelbase, but the overhang is split (front wheels are about 2' behind the driver and 6' behind the front of the coach) and the tag axle shortens the rear overhang. With the tag retracted the coach is very tough to keep straight in a crosswind. Once you drop the tag it becomes extremely stable. Tag up turning circle is about 70'. Maybe wind is not a big issue in the UK and the shorter distances make driver fatigue less of an issue. Here in North America stability is king.
Sad But Mad Lad These are low profile HGV tyres extremely wide and well up to this job, they were designed to lower height and pull mega trailers but with the same weight capacity..Always vital to keep to 4 meters as any European countries will not allow vehicles over this height, except under special permit oversize loads etc...As for the rear steer this is so important on long rigid type vehicles, it gives fantastic manoeuvre ability and the two rear axles give a solid stability...Using a Volvo 540 engine and the Volvo I shift automatic transmission means this is a powerful quality piece of kit...
For that price just on the basic interest on the principal amount can provide for 5 star holiday accommodation or that kind of money can create minimum 700+ small businesses which can give you a return on the investment in 3-5 years along with the principal amount returned back and it is worth more when you calculate the depreciation bcoz if you incase wish to get rid of this white elephant it will be really hard to find a buyer even at 20% of the price paid or even less than that after 3-5 years
Not a lot of diesel pushers here in Maryland. I just (got home yesterday) drove home from Idaho (I-70 route) and saw a ton of them west of the Mississippi.
Dont forget vehicles based off of a truck chassis will come equipped with axle /differential lock . With the weight Behind These, unless you're taking it into an absolute mudhole these are very capable vehicles
650,000 pounds! And the toilet is not private?!? Whatever. However? I LOVE the kitchen - a dishwasher! And boiled water from the tap! And the driving 'cockpit' is amazing.

OK so it looks pretty nice but having a bathroom separating the whole RV is kind of weird to me. You should seriously take a look at some 42 and 45 foot American RVs instead. They are nicer, prettier, smarter lay-outs, more comfortable driving positions (this really feel like driving the city bus here in Sweden) and yes there are more expensive ones but in comparison the Americans are cheaper.
How is that layout weird to you? If someone wants to sleep, guests can use the the bathroom. Thats the most common layout. Where should you have put it? I guess you never driven a volvo fh or a scania truck. This is a real truck, volvo fh, with a real engine. It dosent get more comfortable for the driver. The american trucks or rv.:s arent even close to this.
How so? If you have the money, you can purchase RVs in the US for $1-2 _million._ While nice, this doesn't have anything "extraordinary" that you couldn't get in the US; including the garage (which admittedly, is uncommon).
@@grondhero The garage seems like a gimmick. If you are travelling anywhere that gets bad weather you would want a toad with a roof not an Ariel Atom. Plus, you have 4 cab seats and a secondary vehicle with 2. How do you all go out to dinner? You are right that US manufacturers offer everything this coach has and more. My 22 year old tag axle pusher has just about everything that was shown in the video and you don't have to walk through the shitter to get to the bedroom.
As an "American", I couldn't dislike the interior more. Way too "european" not comfy looking at all. Luckily there are vehicles for everyone. Great to see Nick doing motorhomes.
@@why-so-serious7895 Different tastes/likes in interior decor makes one an a-hole? I just don't like it style wise and I don't see any recliner chairs for instance. But, whatever...
American RVs and motor homes have this horrible brown/beige interior, very old fashioned, rather resembling an old peoples home, very depressing. Is that what you call 'homely'? If so you can keep it.
OMG! That, by far, IS THE most beautiful RV I have seen yet ... in every aspect. European design and imagination, to me, far exceeds American [shoebox shape] RV designs. That is not a put down ... it's just a fact. I know. I'm American.
This is bloody lovely, not as big as the American stuff, but its got to be way better built, ive heard horror stories about the mass production of the american RVs. This is something i would definitely love to have, should i ever win the Euromillions. Those front wheelarches though ...lol I presume they could build it on a left hand drive chassis just as well?
One cabin and one head, on a truck that size? Plus, were the hell would you go in it, all well and good having a giant camper van, but it's just too big to tour the UK in.
Most coaches that size are designed for a couple. Some have 1.5 baths, but you normally have to get over 40' for that and I don't think the really big coaches (40 to 45 foot) are legal in the UK. Here in the US we pull other vehicles or trailers with bigger coaches than this one.
Exactly, most places you’d want to visit would be off the beaten track down single lane roads which this thing would never fit down. And what retiring pensioner wants to get their HGV licence and have the stress of trying to drive this lump around. You’d need a crew but there’s nowhere for them to sleep!
@@Si1234321 Coaches this size (and bigger) are not that tough to drive, but you have to constantly think about your exit path. I have a coach that measures 42'10" and tow a 20' enclosed trailer (23' LOA) with a Toyota Highlander in it (longer trips we take a larger enclosed trailer (30' LOA with a 27' box). Total combined length with the short trailer and hitch is about 66' which limits which roads we can use with the coach. In reality though, you are going to find a place to park the coach and trailer and use that as your home base for several days. Day trips are what the secondary vehicle is for (which is why you bring something with a roof and the ability to haul people and supplies). The advantage of this is that you don't have to completely break camp everyday that you want to see an attraction or go into town. This approach makes sense in North America because we have big roads and big distances. Plus most states exclude commercial licensing requirements for recreational vehicles and even in those that don't you are allowed 26,000 lbs combined before you need the equivalent of an HGV license.
A poster wrote, “Very, very expensive.” Expensive, of course. But many American motorhomes cost well over £800,000, with gaudy exterior paint designs. And the UK coach has better electronics and a much classier and up-to-date interior design. I love it!
But you can buy a 2nd hand Winnebago for a fraction of the cost of this motorhome. Just as big and comfortable although I agree the American design and decor is less to be desired to the European market, which I think is rather snobbish to anything American.
I love watching RV videos, and this layout is literally the best I've seen. The swivel seats that aren't the driver and shotgun seats are a first for me to see. I would personally get rid of the cabinets over the couches in the front so it would look more residential. No TV in that seating area?? And the decor is a bit "too modern" for me, but I do see how people love it.
RC: Hey Nick, come review our brand new motor home. Nick: Sorry fellas, I only review equipment that runs on Volvo and carries Miele stuff. RC: Consider it done. Just leave Maggie out of this one.
imagine the cost for fuel..becasue i seriously doubt batteries exist that would sensibly power this. And...where do the poor knaves that come along on the trip sleep? One bed?
These are custom built completely to owner specification. It has one bed because that is precisely what this customer wanted. If you have 'poor knaves' and want something different, they will happily build it for you. 🙂
Thank you for the walkthrough. It’s funny that a boat of similar length and overall size would have probably three cabins and maybe even two heads. As an RV owner I’d love to see more “boat-like” accommodations! 🍻
There’s a very, very, British feel to the design/ layout to the American style RV, the separation of the each specific defined space . Very compact but high ceilings ( for RV’s) to creat that European living feel to it, but functional. I did like the four seats in the cockpit area, I’m intrigued by the skylight windows that open up ( but my concern is the possibility of leaks and water damage from just regular travel). Hated the bathroom, not the style but more of the location and the fact you had to walk through it to get to the bedroom just seems the wrong placement in my head. As for the wee car in the basement garage I’m having an internal conflict of, ”Now that’s cool, in a James Bond kinda way.” Vs ,” That’s not very practical in real world situations.” Lol. Very nice coach, liked the decor and interior style, but they made mistake and built it with a right hand drive. 😉
I thought l wanted a boat, now, now l want that, an AC Atom in the back, wow. The misses doesn’t like boats, this, I’m only a lottery win away. I’d be fuelled up and on a small road trip to Singapore.........
Bloody pricy when you think of the RC10M for £220k that you reviewed Wonder if the garage could fit a Mini or Yaris or Smart car or something more practical than the Atom
It’s beautiful! Mind you, a beautiful price as well! The thing with this thought is its sheer size! Shouldn’t imagine there aren’t many places you can either go or park up with it
the cockpit is very old fashion. Nowadays we have flatscreen for navigation and with electronic not mechanical. If They use a Mercedes Chassis it will be best.
Compared to US RV manufacturers these rigs I’m seeing have very little to no cooking storage, tough to make the beds, and overall no inside storage. No pantry?
Rich boys toys. Hollywood been purchasing these for decades ......star trailers . This is a particularly good one though. Amazing how good design can increase your sense of space and improve function of every room

+1. .. The cab-over chassis design has its pluses. .. In N. America the premium Motorcoach segment is either a Newell Motorcoach or any number of Prevost Bus converter companies; Liberty Motorcoach, Marathon Motorcoach, Millennium Coach to name just a few. .. The Prevost bus chassis/shell has 1 engine/trans available; Parent company Volvo's time-honored D13 6cyl 500HP w/1,850TQ coupled with an Allison 6sp transmission. The Newell custom RV chassis fits a Cummins X15 605HP/2050TQ rear-mounted, rear-axle steering, air suspension on 3 axles etc. No cab-over HDT chassis designs for N. America. .. Bummer.

I think you should drive one, don’t see how this is a problem.
That's why many other brands have the garage in the middle with a slide out parking spot
loo in the garage derek pffft
Fantastic video as always. I must say I find this thing a little disappointing for what it appears to be from the outside. I feel like it compromises a lot in attempting to look like a house/apartment, when the space could be used a lot more creatively if it allowed itself to be more of a mobile home.
The bedroom and bathroom reminds me of a prison, and that shower felt like a coffin. Yikes.
You must get locked up in some VERY smart prisons..! 😳
That would be great on the Devon & Cornwall lanes eh
No this is designed for the European market. Mainland Europe is geared up so much better for motorhomes than the U.K. you wouldn’t buy one of these to visit Cornwall more like Austria, Bavaria & France.

Though only thing that looked a bit weird was the front wheels, they looked too small.
Front wheels look small and rear wheels look to far forward.
Rich any further back and this would have the manoeuvrability of a cruise ship. Shorter wheelbase equals smaller turning circle.
@@rich7447 the front was jacked up to level the vehicle. It left the front wheels dangling awkwardly

That’s known as a six wheeler,I drive them at work, need to be careful with that overhang at the back, especially with the rear steer axle.
precisely a lot of folk wont know what you mean also the twins at the back can get odd wear on the tyres depending on the suspension set up when driving at lower speeds where there are lots of bends in the roads
It has a huge overhang for the length of the coach. My coach is longer than the legal limit in the UK and I have less than half of the rear overhang that this thing has.
Can't imagine driving that around europe. Would not be a good time.

It’s crazy to see how decades ahead UK/European RV manufacturers are from manufacturers here in the US.
Cause USA rvs are like 60k and this is 800,000 dollars. I’d expect it to be a bit nicer for 12 times as much money.

Lovely camper but how many sites will it fit on in the uk
My thoughts exactly. The U.K. and Europe doesn’t have near the RV infrastructure North America has.
it would fit in my drive ok

Those front wheelarches though ...lol

Everything is super , accept the toilet in my opinion is in
the wrong spot but Everything is smart and perfect .
A poster wrote, “Very, very expensive.” Expensive, of course. But many American motorhomes cost well over £800,000, with gaudy exterior paint designs. And the UK coach has better electronics and a much classier and up-to-date interior design. I love it!
Agree, seen two American motorhomes on a site at the weekend and they are awful looking things both inside and out.
Erm, not. MANY AMERICAN MOTORHOMES DO NOT cost over 800,000.... not even in Canadian Dollars!!

It did seem a little odd walking through the bathroom to get to the bedroom.
This one is laid out for a couple to use, so having the bathroom off the lounge and off the bedroom makes sense.
imagine the cost for fuel..becasue i seriously doubt batteries exist that would sensibly power this.

The garage could have easily been made into a crew space of some sort.
It’s beautiful! Mind you, a beautiful price as well! The thing with this thought is its sheer size! Shouldn’t imagine there aren’t many places you can either go or park up with it

Most campsites wouldn’t even let you in their sites with a motorhome that size. There are many campsites which won’t allow American motorhomes are their just too big and campsite public liability insurance won’t cover for such vehicles.
