  • The end of a successful Pedal Point Rally, and some of us spent the day after taking a ride around the Green Circle, a path designed around Stevens Point, Wisconsin. It was nice comfortable ride and helped me get back into the joy of cycling.

I prefer the long form videos. You get a better feel for the trail and its features. A for features, surface type, climbing, proximity to traffic, restroom service, restaurants, vistas, length. Those are the ones that come to mind for me. Thanks for sharing.

Long-form, always. I like the patter and your thoughts/opinions about the ride. Stroke is what put me on a trike after 20 years on an upright bike. My trike has been a way to get away from the pressures of home life and medical worries. Riding has brought me more improved health and pleasure than I can tell you. After a stroke and three bouts of cancer, it keeps me going!

Long form videos for me. I resist TikTok style short (addictive) videos. We already have trouble paying attention for any length of time. I think short hyper-interesting videos are kind of like eating dessert all the time. It tastes great, but long term it won't be good...

Long or short, as long as you have something to say or topic to cover within the time allotted it will be a good video with judicious editing.

Your huge experience applied to evaluation of Bicycle Trails also sounds hugely more usable to majority of riders!
Your drone experience would obviously be a huge addition to scenery viewing.
Personally, I prefer bicycle trails separate from any car traffic.
Thinking long form would be hugely inclusive on multiple video details inclusiveness.
    Few travel internationally.
Most every "recumbenteer" rides on local OR fairly local Bicycle Trails!
Would be a HUGE plus of videoing your Bicycle Trail rides!

Well Matt I’m going to give my two cents. I personally preferred to watch longer videos of people riding. It’s a wonderful thing to see someone do a trail or a route, it takes you to a different place being able to be transported to a different part of the world is therapeutic for some people, especially for those who can’t go to many places due to anything like physical disabilities or just don’t have the financial resources to go to these places that you are able to show them, or maybe they are skeptical of trying to go to these places and you showing your life and lots of your life will inspire someone to get out there to go do the things you’ve done, and I think you showing long videos of that helps a lot. The shorter videos are ok as well especially if there really isn’t a story to tell and it’s just like an impromptu video. I know you know Sylvia aka Travles by Trike and she’s decided to go with a shorter video format and I’m kinda sad about it because I miss her longer videos, and like I said before I feel like your videos are like a tv show and idk about you but I always like long episodes rather than short ones because then you feel cheated and leaves you wanting more! lol That’s my two cents so I hope that helps. I also think that idea of you taking the van to different trails and riding them would be GREAT, maybe do an all 50 state trail tour! You could start in Alaska and do 3 popular trails and then work your way back down to Washington and then Oregon, California do some riding in northern Cali the Bay Area then jump over to Hawaii from California do some cycling on all of the islands then jump back to Cali and do some riding in southern Cali like Hollywood, Beverly Hills and all that stuff I think getting a pic of the trike in front of the Hollywood sign would be awesome! lol and then move on to Nevada then Utah and move up and down until you move all the way to the east coast, just an idea for you (when you get to Arkansas don’t forget to look me up lol). Sorry to ramble on lol 😂

I think a mix of longer form as well as short form videos might be best, for widest appeal. I am here for those trikes--wish you spend a few minutes going over your trike or your friends' trike in detail before the ride. Name the brand names of your kit features, weight components wheels brakes derailleurs accessories costs, how to get into "triking" on a budget or how to do it with all the bells and whistles. I know you've done a lot of these, but maybe before each ride a quick review of your (or friend's) set up would be great!

Trial Signage both along the trail and directing you to it.
Trail Safety, does it go through some sketchy areas or is it just rural?
Trail interaction with traffic? Does it cross a lot of busy roads? Does it just ride along a busy road? For example, a trail might be really nice, except that it follows a busy highway... which sucks. How much of the trail is shaded vs sunny?
Is it Buggy or have other positive/negative wildlife interactions? You gotta watch out for those evil "ducks"! HAHAHAHA!
Does it have a speed limit? I have a nice trail near me but there is a posted speed limit of 10 MPH for bikes (and I presume trikes).
How busy is it? Are there lots of pedestrians you have to watch out for? Other riders?
Other limitations? Some trails might not allow electric assist for instance.

    • @JaYoeNation
      @JaYoeNation  Месяц назад

@@Lhaffinatu all great ideas. Maybe the busy score would be hard to gauge. I might just be there on a slow time or day. But score a trail that is super packed normally.

On trails, is it shared by bikers and pedestrians? Do people walk on the wrong side of the path? Are they e-bike friendly? Or do you have “Karen’s” telling you to get off the trail?? LoL
