I mean they would be more likely to resonate with puppy love, crush type lyrics. usually males don't sing songs like that and if they ever felt like that, they kept it to themselves and pretended to be 'macho' about innocently falling in love for the first time and then being crushed by a girlfriend's rejection or betrayal.
