The cover illustration from the humorous JUDGE magazine was drawn by Germaine Tailleferre's husband Ralph Barton in 1924.

Glorious Germaine Tailleferre - one of Les Six, a truly great composer, and flying the female flag way before the advent of the women's movement and that other glorious Germaine, Ms Greer. Love them both.

Germaine Tailleferre was a French composer and the only female member of the group of composers known as Les Six, the other five being Georges Auric, Louis Durey , Arthur Honegger , Darius Milhaud , Francis Poulenc; and all worth exploring.

Really too bad they couldn't put together all of her chamber music, like they did with Albert Roussel. Music for two pianos is also missing.
