Also honesty was so common in those days. Not only Kamaraj, almost all the TamizhNadu CMs were honest till that time. DMK's Karunanidhi started corrupting the entire system and Globalization economic policy have turned almost every politician as dishonest, money minded crooks.

When Chief Minister Kamaraj was instrumental in conducting 1955 Avadi Congress, my mother a teenager then was selected as a seva volunteer. She still recalls that Avadi session where she got autographs from Kamarajar and the smoking Nehru. When Kamarajar visuted our house in Mylapore during 1967 election campaign (My periyappa was a Congress councillor of 95th ward then), he enjoyed the filter coffee and Idly Chutney. I used to be a staunch Congress supporter under Kamarjar. But after his death I slowly veered towards BJP after the advent of ABVajpayeeji and LKAdvaniji. Jai Hind!

His period is gold period in Tamil Nadu and no one had given such period after his death..

My father who is 85 plus remembers him very well he told about an incident when he became cm there was no public tap nearby to his house his mother had to walk little bit to fetch water and the water department provided it at his mother's door step when he saw this change he questioned it because I am cm you guys did this before I leave and be back in my office I want the tap moved to the exact location where it was not near by to my house. He is a very rare gem of a person.
Kamaraj Ji abstained from becoming PM as he did not know Hindi which he considered a barrier in reaching out to the masses.
I'm from Uttar Pradesh and i'd like to tell you that we are aware of our National heroes.

Kamaraj is the one who made the today's tamilnadu. because of him literacy percentage, school, hospital, dam, business, recruitment and all has increased. Here many people came up to good position in their lives by studying from govt schools.

My mom studied till 10th grade only because she can eat and bring some food to parents. He is the man who understood the reality, he didn't just give education, He also removed the hunger of many families.

If I remember it correctly means look into it .that means you can forget about it.during hin rule people have tremendous respect for police. Only CM who has only 7 cabinet ministers. It is so sad no body remembers him.

Well said and true. I am between 80s and 90 s kids... But still I have a great respect and feel proud and remember him always MR. Kamraj sir. Also passing the same info to my kids by showing images and telling history... I myself and my family rejected/omit bribe money for voting in any elections till now.

Please make a video about Mr. Kakkan ,he was Minister for Home Affairs (Madras state) and also minister of agriculture in kamarjar CM period . In his last days he deid in government hospital without having money.
He was also ex member of parliament,
2 times MLA.
