Great talk bro. I’m an addict, and always will be. It’s my personality type. I’m not an active addict right now. My recovery is in the beginning stage, and my poison is meth (although I’ll do anything)
I just blinked away 7 years of my life. I have nothing but a camper and live in the woods now.
Clarity gets better by the day. And I’m hopeful to reclaim my life moving forward.
And yes… smoking herb is needed right now, fir this to move in a good direction right now.
    Keep it up bro!!!

Praying for you bro. Some of my best mates are former meth addicts. You'll be back to your former self a little each day. I'm a recovering addict myself and sleep in my car. Just think of each day as paying my karmic debt so I don't get down on it. I'm just grateful to have a roof over my head.

I saw a news headline a few days ago they are now making it illegal to sleep on the subway system in NYC 😢 my heart sank when I heard this. I thought it was already illegal and had been illegal? I remember some of Joey's old stories when the channel first started (at least when he first hit my algorithm) in like 2020 maybe, where he was uploading the "Why I Was Homeless" series, saying that some of the first places he tried to sleep were GCS and on the train, but cops would go through and bust people and rush em away from central station and the train.

@@KarmicSlayereither way thank you for having a heart for the homeless people. I was addicted to heroin for 18 years because of going through 8 surgeries and getting loads of Oxycontin in early 2000s. I used to think that addiction was just people that had a weak mentality. Before I became addicted dogs in when I was a firefighter with 3 years and the fire department building a career had gone to six different countries I had an amazing life and then everything came crashing down. Addiction especially to illegal drugs is so horrible and it is almost undescribable. The worst thing about being addicted to illegal drugs is it ostracized as you from society like Joey says you've got to wait for people on the black market you've got to buy stuff at a horribly inflated raids and it takes you out of society you will eventually can't work you are ostracized from any kind of normal society. Where is I know many many people that are addicted to alcohol that as long as they can work they're fine and they just keep going. Very fortunate I have two years off heroin and got off all the pharmaceutical opiates also and have been off those since the end of last September. Pharmaceutical opiates were just as hard to get off of and it is insane how horrible I still feel energy-wise but I am going to college now and working part time. Thankfully my doctor gave me a blood test and found out that my testosterone levels were incredibly low. Just started trt last week. Out of over 150 people I use drugs with in the last 20 years only six of them are still alive besides me. Thankfully I haven't had a craving for heroin in almost 2 years. Definitely one of the reasons why I'm rooting for Joey and appreciate him as a person. God bless you 🙏

I was on heroin and Fentanyl for 20 years. Will work for me was getting on methadone for 2 years and keeping my dose extremely low and getting down lower and lower until I made the switch to sublocade. Last time I used it was the end of last September of last year. If you have insurance there are ways and people that will help you but just don't get stuck in the system and don't get stuck on that stuff it's a lot better in the street stuff if you're going to be on something though. Unfortunately numerous of my friends that are still addicted they don't want to put in the time I don't blame them they just want to get off really quickly and want someone that gets them off without probably realizing that they might have to put in years of work to get off. Now if they can do it in a week God bless them that's amazing but most people that have been on for years and years are going to take a little while to get off also. God bless you

There was a time we were on the open plains, with our six shooter on our hip, talkin about how we could trick Cornwall and the O'Driscolls, camping under the stars, waiting for the right time to make our move with Mary-Beth. We are now, whittled back to two tropes: a video about getting off heroin, or another video about how cold New York gets in the winter. Show us some sights, Joey. I'm getting stir crazy in this parking lot, Dutch.

What worked for me was during the transition was waiting 24 hours. After 3 days i was finally feeling better. This day I'm finally feeling normal and this is the normal feeling i was craving for so many years. Was doing opiates for 6 years and after id say 4 years i stopped getting high to get high and got high to just feel normal. Its almost surreal how the normal feeling I feel today is what i was craving so bad for so long.

Sometimes I would smoke black also..I lost all contact with people from the past, and i moved across town to a nice neighborhood. .I don't know where 2 get any of that crap ,and I'm not looking ..

      People , places , things...
I cut off all my heroine and meth dope guys ...I'm lonely alone depressed sometimes...if you meet them you will relapse for sure.
This path one have to walk alone
And spend the lonely nights alone
Just with God and you ...

You're exactly right about everything Joey,& u tell a good story bro. I did opiates 35 yrs, mostly oxygen & perc. Did H maybe 40 times when I couldn't get pills. I'm older than u ,after I quit ops I quit cigarettes & weed,it just ran its course. You don't want to do more subs than u need,I'm on about 6mg now. Was on methadone twice in early 2000s. They're all hard to get off about equally for me. Trouble was I was also doing Xanax too. So I quit it all by weaning myself off a little at a time. Now everything is falling into place, had my best yr ever. I'm over in Brandon/Seffner area.

TAPOR IS KEY!!! It’s really mental. Your brain is constantly trying to trick you back until your brain heals it will try to trick you. It’s not but basically it’s a really bad hangover. Once I figured out that it was just a hangover it helped me out a lot mentally. Stay consistent! Keep trying! You will eventually get it it. If you slip no big deal just start over as soon as you can. Even if it’s 6 months later or a year later just keep trying. You get better at being sober the more you try. Consistency will get you sober. It won’t happen over night. It might take years. So what as long as you keep trying you will get there

Your advice is very good! It's all about the dose if you want to dabble in substances. Your mind tells you I'm only going to do a little bit but that never happens lol. Addiction gets to be a pain in the ass you get tired of it. For me I just smoke my weed - it's legal here. That has helped me more than anything. It's actually medicine for me helps with a lot things I don't consider it a "drug". I've heard that they kick you out of AA/NA if you smoke weed. They are wrong about that. I think the failure rate of 12 steps programs is high they need to rethink this.

  • @TurboCharged600

Also I agree with the it’s like waking up from a dream, I remember the 2nd time I kicked I consulted a doctor and they prescribed suboxone films, they said wait 48hrs before I take it, I made it to 44hrs before I was in bed squirming, sweating, bones twisting, heart beating out my chest and I couldn’t take it I said this is it im high enough on the COWS scale and I dissolved a film under my tongue. 15 minutes later everything stopped I felt a relief like it’s finally over, I took a deep breath and my sense of smell returned, I listened to the birds chirping and the relief was something else, I wasn’t chained to this drug anymore. But like you said after a couple months you think only 10 dollars and I’ll be super high and you tell yourself you’ll only use this one time, or you think you’ll be able to control it this time and keep your tolerance low. There is no controlling it! The outcome will always be the same, you’ll be sucked in the same cycle every time that 1 day will turn into 6 months… it’s not worth it

you hit nail on the head its about 5-days to get over acute withdrawal 3 day is the worst , also when you ready to quit ideally , if you are taking oxycontin switch to the Instant release formulation ,try to step down 5--10 Mg every 2-Weeks. The time release with stay in system for 14-plus days , Instant release is 5- Days , so withdrawal is much more protracted or long lasting if you're taking oxycontin time release formulation, VS Oxycodone IR or Instant Release. I weaned down to 40-MG and jumped ship, it was not real bad little diarrhea , mild stomach cramps day -3 was the worst , day 5- it was over , even afternoon of day for was not bad. SO try to wean as low as you can ideally. Buy some kratom do it for up to 10-Days then stop so you will not get addicted to it. It helps withdrawal by 50--60 % better

Yes i know what you are talking about!! Without going into a long story...my husbands dr. Was nit only recklessly over prescribing but, a few of his patients passed away under his care . The state took him to court and he lost his license and practice everything!
1 year later he passed away..
It honestly should be a crime what these Drs do to people..
My husband quit pain pills and Xanax cold turkey...
He has always been a strong willed person anyway as he is a disabled combat veteran...
Good for you that you did it as well...pat yourself on the back ...not everybody can do it.
Thought I would share my story
    Stay safe
    Take Care

15 year iv and meth and heroine user here, havent watched the video. But the first step is to be truly ready to stop and do what it takes to build a life without drugs. That may mean being lonely as f for a couple years while your in the slums grinding to have something. Drugs give you a fake social life. But besides that, if your ready its how. 3 options, MAT, cold turkey, or assisted cold turkey i would call it. The best imo is assisted cold turkey, meaning tapering off or if your on heroine taking suboxone for a week then tapering off that multiple ways to do it. Cold turkey your putting yourself through unneeded pain and are likely to relapse because of it. This isnt 2006 there are way more options to getting off dope today.

Sorry I asked that question to soon before you mentioned you don’t have any experience with methadone. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone. Most people get it for free and you just live in this comfortable agony forever most people are too scared to even consider getting off of it . I wish I went the suboxone route

That is amazing, how much that is. In germany, Dr.stop at 120mg. Most ypu can get. You'll have to taper down to at least 30 , is my experience, to do it cold.

    • @briandonovan5687
      @briandonovan5687 5 дней назад

@@NathanMcCabe-tc2odyou still can. You can switch but u have to wait a few days to get the methadone out of your system. Subutex or suboxone is way better imo. I get a script every month from the clinic n have it filled. I don't have to go to the clinic everyday just once a month for my script. Super grateful for that.

    • @briandonovan5687

kratom and 7oh keeps me going at this point. Only problem is your right Im just existing, not following my goals. Between that and the money my time is almost up. Also its way harder to switch from fet to subs. (dont take subs from fet goto a detox or get methadone for detox) clonidine helps for the first month of sobriety.

Precipitated withdrawals. Fun times I got to experience twice. Nothing quite like speed running withdrawals. I forget how many subs I had to take the first time to get rid of them. I thought I was gonna rip every muscle in my legs and back stretching or tensing up trying to relieve the aches or rest leg syndrome feeling.
I was the same way quitting cold turkey. Stay sober for a little while then usually just switched to meth until going back to opiates. Had to get on sublocade to actually stop.

Subutex works for that. That's what I take. 24 MG. Without that I wd be in real trouble. Have a bone disease n have fractured multiple bones. Without meds I can barely walk upright. Subutex or suboxone works for pain PLUS you can get a prescription for them which means you don't have to go to a clinic everyday to get medication. That is a blessing in itself

I like reading the book I have so many passages hi lighted. Audio books don't give me the same experience as the book in my hands. It's a short book but powerful info. It's what literally opened my eyes to a new understanding of what is going on with my life.
