- Leonardo was one of the greatest artists and polymaths who has ever lived. In this talk I cover all twenty four the works general regarded as by Leonardo excluding his sketches and disputed works. Leonardo is described by the artist Giorgio Vasari as well loved, a 'sparkling conversationalist', who could comfort a troubled soul, so persuasive he could bend other people to his will and so generous he fed all his friends, rich and poor. He was described as so endowed with beauty, grace and talent that he left all other men far behind.

36:30 I'm surprised that no one so far has noticed how the lady hand was rather large and witchy looking in contrast with her gentle face (and her face size - one's hand usually not larger than one's face.) On the other hand (pun not intended) this hand goes well with the ermine' face, for better or for worse. One other gripe is that DaVinci genius however doesn't spare him the rather common painter's pitfall of painting the same face over and over. Most of his "belles" seem to be coming from the same model, one has the feeling that he dragged his Mona Lisa around and sat her up in different costumes, hairdoes - or at different stages in life, etc. (Lady with Ermine seems to be the exception in this regard, having a pointed chin whereas 40:00 La belle Ferroniere could be Mona Lisa's daughter!)
