    Another factor that deserves a mention is that Sheff Utd have the smallest squad out of the 4 promotion challenges and have recently suffered a long lost of injuries, so bad that they’ve been forced to play players totally out of position and been unable to fill the bench but Sheff Utd are still top. In the January transfer window Sheff Utd are signing 5 new players, all good enough to be 1st team starters. As Sheff Utd will be so much stronger in the 2nd half of the season with a strong bench, logic suggest Sheff Utd should win the league.

      Furthermore, there are quite a few players coming back from injuries. Some will be available for Friday against Hull City.

    What an absolute farce the officials were last night at Derby!
    Ref gives a goal, linesman doesn’t flag and makes his way back to the halfway line- 1 minute later the Derby defenders surround the ref- he goes to a fourth official on the side who apparently checked his monitor and then disallows the goal- nobody knows why as both players were onside by a mile- the ref tells Isidor at ft that it was disallowed for offside 😂😂
    Luckily for Sunderland they didn’t need that extra goal to get the 3pts!
    Standard of officials in this league is laughable!
    A few fans picked up on Sam Parkin calling Trai Hume- Denver Hume who hasn’t played for us for a good few years 😂😂

      Couldn't agree more. The 4th official thought he was Mr. VAR but we don't have that in the Championship so the ref should not be considering his opinion. Sam Allison, regardless of him apparantly being fast tracked as a Prem Ref should be suspended along with the 4th official. That is as near to cheating as you can get 🔴⚪🔴⚪

      Ben yes 2 penalties missed move on from that because a draw away to Burnley is still great result mundle,Allan Browne,Tommy Watson returning from injury in few weeks, Ian Paveda & Jenson Seelt are both playing for our under ,21s tonight against benfica in the international cup so their return is great for us adds more first team depth

Write us off at your peril - Will be a real test for us on Saturday playing Sheff Weds away ... another team that i have been highly impressed with - If we win this i feel we are well on our way to the play offs (here's hoping) ..

    4 very strong stand out teams for this Division, I think it's a tough call , it looks like Sheff U and Leeds but it could easily be Burnley and Sunderland, The Championship is such a great league full of surprises.

    Yes Ben. Rowett 7 games. 5 wins and 2 draws.
    It’s incredible! Stoke away next, and that’s a winnable game too. Not going to get ahead of myself, but we certainly are enjoying the moment.
    Last night we were quite poor, but Luton I fear for them. Defensively they were all over the place.

    As a Sunderland fan it is clear that we were ahead of where we expected to be this season as we went past the mid way point of the season. BUT, I am increasingly of the belief that we need to stop viewing ourselves as outsiders in the race for auto promotion now. With the addition of Le Fee I am confident we are now a match for anyone in this league, and, we have several other players to return; Mundle, Watson, Poveda, Browne, Samed (starting on fringes of games now), Aleksic. I also think our business in the January window is not yet over. We should be confident going forward, and I for one am delighted with this young team.

      I have been impressed by you guys this season when I've seen you play. Half of me thinks you'll drop away though, but you have games away against Boro and Leeds next Month and for me if you come out of that with 4 points or more, then nobody can deny that you're serious contenders.

    Sunderland supporter, really enjoy the Hot Takes on a Wednesday Ben, keep them coming my friend 😊
    Sheffield United and Leeds look very strong and it would take something extraordinary for Sunderland to win automatic promotion.
    QPR are serious play-off contenders in the form they are in and Sunderland, Boro and Burnley will make up the those teams contesting the playoffs.
    WBA, Watford, Blackburn will fall away in my opinion.

  • @dazedblade3426

    I hear a lot of people say that the championship is poor this year, but there are 3 and maybe 4 teams who look like getting 90 points on the board. We've been injury stricken since mid-December, including right down the spine of the 1st team, and so we look to be "on the ropes" a little but we always seem to find a haymaker from somewhere. I'd rather it be more comfortable and players returning from injury now and a few signings being made, so we should be better in a week or two. Well played to Sunderland who are doing really well to keep up with others at the top with Parachute payments. I still feel it's Leeds + 1 other and I'm hoping we can stay ahead of Burnley. We have a lot of home games coming up and we don't have many of the top sides to play away from home for the remainder of the season. I'm hoping this gives us an advantage. It's worth pointing out that Burnley play Leeds on Monday, Sunderland away at Boro the week after and then they go to Leeds shortly afterwards. I'm expecting teams around us to drop points is what I'm saying. We just have to keep slogging it out.

    Vital win last night, credit to derby they had chances 2nd half but our man management was spot on , nothing wrong with the Isidor goal wasn't offside or any foul,referee or linesman didn't blow for anything so it's baffling, that's 4 wins out of the last 5 still in automatic promotion race so Hawaaaay the lads

    The bottom line for me is that when Leeds and Sunderland click they are the best teams and can beat anyone, however every team has an off day at some point and that’s the difference. Sheff Utd and Burnley are more solid and even when having an off day will still beat the bottom half teams. Wherea when Leeds and Sunderland have an off day they are liable to drop points, even against relegation candidates.

      Our injury list is mental, 5x 17 year olds on the teamsheet every week, massive players out for the season, soutter and arblaster, vini Sousa and keifer Moore out for weeks and months, that's the spine of the team gone.
      The team is running on empty, have been for weeks, thankfully this month will hopefully see the cavalry come, Diaz done, cannon medical yesterday, michael keane from everton and Johnjo Kenny from hertha to follow apparently, then a couple of loans from the PL

  • @wilarrowsmith1229
    @wilarrowsmith1229 15 дней назад +6

    As a leeds fan, i should probably leave my bias at the door, but as a football fan, Sheffield United and Burnley are absolutely dreadful to watch. I watch these teams as well as leeds most weeks and the mind boggles as to how they win each week. Of course i can acknowledge that there are various ways to win games of football, but Wilder and Parker are bordering on football terrorists at times. I know there are injuries and hardships at both clubs but it can't excuse the style of play we are seeing every week. If we do go up (which we absolutely have to by the way), i can only hope that Sunderland come up with us- a huge club with a proper team trying to play attacking football and mixing it with three parachute teams. I think they would really give it a go in the prem too, whilst Burnley and Sheffield United would surely begin to lose these tight narrow games every week instead of winning them (as we've seen various times with those clubs in the prem in recent years). I know Burnley and Sheffield United fans will probably give me backlash for this comment and i get it, at the end of the day every team is just desperate to get promoted, so each team can play how they like. Just my opinion!

    • @Lowdenjim
      @Lowdenjim 15 дней назад +7

      After watching your lads playing 2nd fiddle to Sheff Wed for considerable periods I thought you looked very ordinary. A dreadful blunder from the Wed goalie gave you a dream start, and then a couple of late goals (dozey defending assisted) grossly flattered you. Don't get too cocky - you know what Leeds are capable of when promotion looks nailed on.

    • @ClickerBait
      @ClickerBait 15 дней назад

      Leeds look very strong against the top teams like us (Sheffield United) and very ordinary against middling and lower side clubs. You talk about style of play but if you go up to the Prem playing 'attractive' football, you get smashed. Playing like this is giving us something to build on if we were to get promoted. Be defensively strong and build from that.

    • @Blade4Life76

      The difference is when Leeds have an off day they can drop points, even to the bottom teams where as Burnley and Sheff Utd can play poorly and still win. Thats the difference and promotion is all about consistency and finding ways to win, that’s why Leeds need to worry.

Sunderland will fade again, squad is way too small. Leeds have squandered opportunities at Sunderland, and against Hull and Burnley, should be top by 4-5 points.
