For data after reinstallation (especially since android 13, you cannot access data folder): > After set-up, hit the menu bar on left, select transfer data. Choose import to the copied aethersx2 data folder. > Import all, and there you go. Or... before removing ad ridden version, use the same menu to export.
Thank you for this, got it all up and running. The only issue not covered is the warning regarding 'access denied to memory card' after re-adding the two memory card files backed up from the start of the video. The two files need to be placed into your downloads folder on the device you're using nethersx2 on, then in the nethersx2 app, go to app settings, memory cards, then select' import memory cards'.
Does anyone know how underclocking work? Rn my game run smooth in 100% (1) config, and i wonder if it does consume more of my phone than 75% (2) config, since I'm worried about heating (till now it is not heating at all)

one thing I would like to add is aethersx2 already has a transfer file section which you can use to transfer bios,boxart, saves and savestates just create a new folder on internal storage and save it there when done with removing ads, use import option and select the folder created earlier and all your data should be back.

I think you can play in Nethersx2 directly if you don't want to install the other apps. Just like me I'm playing in the ps2 emulator nethersx2 directly. You can install the other apps if you want to see it cool

The patching process will always exist for official releases, due to liscense, however its easier now with unnofficial xdelta and some revanced work being done 2. The Aether Community discord has archives of final no ads playstore and alpha from the time, see description for link to our discord

Not a bad question, a good one. We will be updating the script as new updates come out (as its currently version reliant), it will hopefully be straightforward and precautions have been taken.

Does Nether add performance increases or is there any future intentions to do so? Im currently running aether version before that update that added ads and other effects.
Nether 1.0 does not effect performance, however any update after 1.1 effects gameDB, thus effecting some performance and bugs in some games. We are currently on 1.6 of Trixarian's additional patches. See our discord for more info on updating beyond 1.0, a video guide will be made after the next update is released.
Try different Termux Repos, and use the url's from the aether community discord in the description. Written commands for copy paste are located there in the #faq channel

It does not change anything about the core of AetherSX2. It's a patch to fix some of the changes the very last update did to AetherSX2.. like put ads back in etc.
My phone keeps saying "app didn't install" i followed everything in the tutorial all the way till you recieve the noapps version of aether. The aether can still install but not nether.
Completely wipe the data from the android folder while aether is installed, then uninstall aether. I cover it in this video. You can also try ADB and some commands to wipe folders, if you you have access to that. But rewatch the whole video, specifically the wipe aether install section.

@@EZOnTheEyes Well, I did the install, and although I do think some games had a noticable improvement over my previous aetherSX2 build, vulcan crashes some games (Need for speed most wanted by example). I am now back on the aetherSX version that uses vulcan 1.1.149, and that doesn't crash the game.
@uscp2 understandable and known thing, that same performance drop noticeable between old Vanilla Aether and new Vanilla Aether. I do reccomend you keep your patched apk around, just incase you ever want to switch for other games in the future. Trixarian is actively updating his patches to our App aswell.
@@EZOnTheEyes might have come across a bit to negative there. I was able to fix it by disabling texture barriers so now I’m working with nether again and games do run perform better.

Try making sure the script is in the same folder and location I used for the examples in this video, and try typing out the exact bash command and location I used in this video. Theres a written guide available on our discord linked in the description aswell, if its easier to see that way

Once your termux is set up, you will use the line: "curl [URL] > aetherpatch-full.sh && bash aetherpatch-full.sh && rm aetherpatch-full.sh" RUclips doesnt like when comments have long urls, so I cant send the full command here, see the Aether Discord for a written version of the command (Link in description)
Yeah, ngl all of this has turned me away from PS2 emulation on android; which sucks cause i wanted to take my old school favs with me in my pocket but after the last 3 days ive had trying to figure this out i think im just gonna stick to my actual PS2 with FCMB. First, you have to hit Y/I 3 seperate times during the initial termus setup which the video didnt mention at all, or in my case like 5 cause termus kept thinking "Y" was "N" or whatever letter it was to keep files i had, even though i never had any...? Fumble my way through that so now im supposedly ready to download the mirror, click the link for the mirror, clicked through and click on the file to download, opens up a black page with a ton of code...do i copy/paste this into termux? Did i misclick somewhere and miss the actual download and somehow just opened a readme or something? No idea, guide video doednt guide you through that, just skips ahead to what to do if termix gets stuck on...something 🤷♂️. Waited to see the "find local" option but again, idk if im supposed to download that file or copy/paste it so ive no code to put into the "nethersx" file anyway nor any idea of how i was supposed to put the code in that file; copy/paste to notepad and move it to that folder? Guide didnt guide that either. Tried to join the discord...holy unorganized sensory overload batman. I had to go to reddit just to figure out what channel to look in. Finally figure that out and click on it and im greeted with the most ungodly amount of pins ive ever seen in my life and after reading 4-5 of the "descriptions" i gave up there entirely and tried to scroll through others posts/msgs and see if anything could point me in a better direction than "go here, its there somewhere just trust me", but alas, no holy grail. All i had left for my ventures was a termux apk. Left the discord group before i likely started getting private msgs from only God knows who about only the devil knows what. Supposedly there were going to be videos on how to update to the "current version" once i believe i read "1.7 is released" no such promised video; so i looked deeper but, well... Thats when i found/read about all the absolutely PETTY drama that caused all of this mess in the first place and after reading WAY to deep into aether/nether lore ive come to the conclusions that...i dont know if ANY of these people are trustworthy lol Aether dev nor the scorned devs of Nether. This all feels like its one childish "Yeah!?! Well youre a big doodoo head" away from being malware paradise. I get the licensing thing and why a straight APK cant be made, but does it have to be THIS convoluted, back-alley, and shadey just to play damn near 20yr old games lol?

I can tell you didnt read my comment as i stated that i had no idea WHAT i was supposed to copy WHERE and WHEN because this supposed "guide" failed to even mention anything about it. But again, the reason i backed away from this EXTREMELY OVWR CONVOLUDED "emulator" was because of the petty ass back and forth between the devs and the shady methods and practices both were/are using. Was never really about how hard it was, i spent a week digging into GBA/C and NDS emulators down to uploading custom box art; it was purelt about the childish attitudes of those involved with the whole thing. Probably could have easily searched YT for a REAL setup guide, but neither the origional dev nor new "devs" were worth that much.
Steps at 6:10 Basically delete the app folder, uninstall any current Aether install, and you should be good Keep in mind, your phone must be able to meet Aethers hardware requirements to use Nether aswell And remember to backup your save data aswell :)
Uh, I'm using a redmi note 10 5g, and whenever i install termux, it updates to 119; if i cancel, the app won't be installed. Is that okay? Edit: It worked! But i forgot to make a copy of the savestates, they're gone now. Anyway, termux is quite fun! I'm reliving my Ms-DOS days with that (darn, I'm such a dinosaur!!) 😂😂😂 I also suggest to make a copy of the covers, just in case they got wiped out also.

We need a more simple method to install the patch so it can be easy for everyone. First of all the patch should be a simple file. Second we need a patcher app to simple load to it the aethersx2 apk and the nethersx2 patch file and press the patch button to patch it. Can we have something like this in the near future?
Good question, i have not tried but feel free to attempt and go ahead! From my testing, most fixes for settings that work for 'aether' will apply to 'nether' (bc same package name), feel free to attempt!
Why can't NetherSX2 be a simply App? Why is this so complicating and so confusing? This is too much for me. When we can have finally a PS2 Emulator on Android which is actually good? There's three PS2 Emulators but all three aren't very good. I wish the PCSX2 Development Team would open his Heart and give us a Android Version because they know how much People wish a PCSX2 Port for Android.

Those are done in a unique way, though there are now termux scripts that allow you to do the same thing i'll be showing doccumentation for trixarians patches when i get time + they're more ironed out see the Aether Community Discord or the patches Github for instructions

Feel free to run through virus total, but its actually totally safe! You are not actually downloading a full app, you are running a 250 line script to modify a copy of Aether on your own device. The code is available to view on Github if you want a quick way to look through what modifications it does, and feel free to run the script + app through antivirus, but I guarentee you it is safe from our released sources (see description of the trailer and install guide for resources)

curl part said I had an error: url rejected because port number was not a decimal number between 0 and 65535. anyone know how to fix this?

Where do I put my backed up memory cards after reinstallation? There is no longer a AtherSX2 folder in the data folder after reinstallation

There are some versions of Aether for Arm, but our Nether patch is for Android only.

Yeah, ngl all of this has turned me away from PS2 emulation on android; which sucks cause i wanted to take my old school favs with me in my pocket but after the last 3 days ive had trying to figure this out i think im just gonna stick to my actual PS2 with FCMB.
First, you have to hit Y/I 3 seperate times during the initial termus setup which the video didnt mention at all, or in my case like 5 cause termus kept thinking "Y" was "N" or whatever letter it was to keep files i had, even though i never had any...?
Fumble my way through that so now im supposedly ready to download the mirror, click the link for the mirror, clicked through and click on the file to download, opens up a black page with a ton of code...do i copy/paste this into termux? Did i misclick somewhere and miss the actual download and somehow just opened a readme or something? No idea, guide video doednt guide you through that, just skips ahead to what to do if termix gets stuck on...something 🤷♂️. Waited to see the "find local" option but again, idk if im supposed to download that file or copy/paste it so ive no code to put into the "nethersx" file anyway nor any idea of how i was supposed to put the code in that file; copy/paste to notepad and move it to that folder? Guide didnt guide that either.
Tried to join the discord...holy unorganized sensory overload batman. I had to go to reddit just to figure out what channel to look in. Finally figure that out and click on it and im greeted with the most ungodly amount of pins ive ever seen in my life and after reading 4-5 of the "descriptions" i gave up there entirely and tried to scroll through others posts/msgs and see if anything could point me in a better direction than "go here, its there somewhere just trust me", but alas, no holy grail. All i had left for my ventures was a termux apk. Left the discord group before i likely started getting private msgs from only God knows who about only the devil knows what.
Supposedly there were going to be videos on how to update to the "current version" once i believe i read "1.7 is released" no such promised video; so i looked deeper but, well...
Thats when i found/read about all the absolutely PETTY drama that caused all of this mess in the first place and after reading WAY to deep into aether/nether lore ive come to the conclusions that...i dont know if ANY of these people are trustworthy lol Aether dev nor the scorned devs of Nether. This all feels like its one childish "Yeah!?! Well youre a big doodoo head" away from being malware paradise.
I get the licensing thing and why a straight APK cant be made, but does it have to be THIS convoluted, back-alley, and shadey just to play damn near 20yr old games lol?

I can tell you didnt read my comment as i stated that i had no idea WHAT i was supposed to copy WHERE and WHEN because this supposed "guide" failed to even mention anything about it.
But again, the reason i backed away from this EXTREMELY OVWR CONVOLUDED "emulator" was because of the petty ass back and forth between the devs and the shady methods and practices both were/are using.
Was never really about how hard it was, i spent a week digging into GBA/C and NDS emulators down to uploading custom box art; it was purelt about the childish attitudes of those involved with the whole thing. Probably could have easily searched YT for a REAL setup guide, but neither the origional dev nor new "devs" were worth that much.

Steps at 6:10
Basically delete the app folder, uninstall any current Aether install, and you should be good
Keep in mind, your phone must be able to meet Aethers hardware requirements to use Nether aswell
And remember to backup your save data aswell :)
Why would you need the other emulators
Uh, I'm using a redmi note 10 5g, and whenever i install termux, it updates to 119; if i cancel, the app won't be installed. Is that okay?
Edit: It worked! But i forgot to make a copy of the savestates, they're gone now. Anyway, termux is quite fun! I'm reliving my Ms-DOS days with that (darn, I'm such a dinosaur!!) 😂😂😂 I also suggest to make a copy of the covers, just in case they got wiped out also.

By the way, Frontends have automatic scrapers to handle that part if you use those :)

We need a more simple method to install the patch so it can be easy for everyone. First of all the patch should be a simple file. Second we need a patcher app to simple load to it the aethersx2 apk and the nethersx2 patch file and press the patch button to patch it. Can we have something like this in the near future?
This process is very painfully complex. Just tell me I don't have to do this everytime there is an update.

Why can't NetherSX2 be a simply App? Why is this so complicating and so confusing? This is too much for me. When we can have finally a PS2 Emulator on Android which is actually good? There's three PS2 Emulators but all three aren't very good. I wish the PCSX2 Development Team would open his Heart and give us a Android Version because they know how much People wish a PCSX2 Port for Android.

Those are done in a unique way, though there are now termux scripts that allow you to do the same thing

Feel free to run through virus total, but its actually totally safe! You are not actually downloading a full app, you are running a 250 line script to modify a copy of Aether on your own device. The code is available to view on Github if you want a quick way to look through what modifications it does, and feel free to run the script + app through antivirus, but I guarentee you it is safe from our released sources (see description of the trailer and install guide for resources)
