Elvis: Lisa Marie Presley & Riley Keough Say Austin Butler Deserves an OSCAR Nomination

- It was an historic day at the TLC Chinese Theater, as three generations of Presleys - Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keough - put their handprints and footprints in the cement to celebrate the new Baz Luhrmann film ‘Elvis.’ ‘Extra’s’ Rachel Lindsay spoke to Lisa Marie and Riley about the honor, as well as Austin Butler’s portrayal of Elvis. The mother-daughter duo spoke about their love and respect for Austin and said he deserves an Oscar nomination for the movie. 'Elvis' is in theaters June 24.

This is one of my favorite movies I’ve seen in decades. Baz is an amazing director and because he’s an Australian he didn’t ruin it like they would have if someone in Hollywood got a hold of the story. It’s a musical masterpiece and important culturally for America.

@@octobersanctuary I wasn`t counting him... She was married to him for a couple of years, but i don`t think he meant as much to her as Elvis or her son did. I don`t like talking about him at all since i believe he abused children. Elvis would NOT have approved of that marriage anyway.
@@yellyman5483 Obviously not as much as losing a father and a son, but Michael was definitely one of them. Michael loved Lisa very much, Lisa felt the same. Their divorce didn’t make much of a difference because they dated on and off again. Even Priscilla said herself that Lisa was absolutely heartbroken. Also, he didn’t abuse children, it’s been proven. And, didn’t Elvis hook up with Priscilla when she was 14? And he was 24?

I remember Elvis from childhood. I lived in a "holler" in Kentucky, and my friends were raving about him. Nobody was putting him down for his body movements because we were all Pentecostal, and we got it! I'm seeing the movie Monday. I can hardly wait!

This was a perfect movie. I'm an Elvis fan. So, that's exactly why I can make that statement. Butler was an actor who embodies the ecennces of Elvis, while developing his voice and learning his moves. He was not a sing/dancer they hoped could act.

I love this movie. I have seen it quite a few times, and I love it more and more every time. Austin Butler is fantastic and mind blowing as Elvis. If the family loves it, that's all I need to hear.

Her father is honored as he should be, a great artist but a human being caught in a trap of fame. He has been maligned for so long. All people focus on was his so called downfall. He never had a downfall the fans still came to see him , the critics and media chose that that path. He was tired, exhausted, maybe even depressed he worked to hard , his body just gave out. Pills may have contributed but he just worked too hard!!
@Maryanne I put a lot of the blame on that greedy, crooked snake "Col." Tom Parker for how Elvis literally worked himself to death, cutting both his life and career tragically short. Yes, Parker helped get him on the map, but he also took full advantage of Elvis's trust and worldly naivete. Imagine what an even bigger star Elvis would've been had he been able to tour the whole world, beyond just the U.S. and Canada. God bless Elvis in heaven and his Earthly legacy. 🥰❤💙💛💜🙏

Been a dedicated fan of Elvis and his music all my life. Saw him in concert May 1977. Studied his life, etc. and although he's not Jesus, he certainly felt like what one might think a second coming could feel like. Of course he was human, had flaws, and made mistakes, but he was just a true example of how a human can be at their greatest potential and hes so widely loved, he's probably affected the laws of physics. All of his remaining family are just darling and have blossomed into terrific people yourselves! Bless you!
Never heard of Butler before the movie ? The academy might need to look at his performance in this movie it was stellar.

Elvis was always appreciated in Australia. I grew up with him from 1949 to his later shows. Love that these Presley ladies appreciate Baz's work on the real Elvis.

People were Saying Cara Delevigne should’ve played Michelle Carter in The Girl From Plainville but in my opinion she is not a good actress at all.
