mel never said she was not on the trick so i think she had the picture before the show. mat didn't show the picture before he dropped it in water so there's no proof that it's the same picture that was taken. so that's the trick. everything was pre-arranged. i would believe it more had he shown the shot before he dropped it in the glass of water.

I think I can say by now, Mat Franco is my favorite act of the season.

He is clearly the best of the magicians, since he is the only one who had consistently good performances. But I hope Smoothini makes it too, so we can have a 4 magician shootout in the top 12.
You're right Richard, out of the four magician acts, Franco was the only one who (ironically) didn't slip up or have set backs in the quarterfinals.
Well I hope Mat makes it through too.

The picture doesn't mean anything.
But they don't pre-arrange the acts, because then it would give everything away.
lol you can still see the phone at 2:01, I know its all an allusion but the least they could do is get a better camera angle for that shot.
Edit: if you look closely at when mel b took the picture and compare it to the picture on the supposedly same phone you can tell she is making a different face and its obviously a different picture and phone...

He took 2 pics. And when he took the first one the camera showed the back of mel b. And if u watch as the pic is being taken. U can c that mel b jaw drops. And her mouth is open in the pic on the phone found in the chair.
He sent only one, and was when he "toke" the second picture.
I'd be pissed if that was the seat I had to sit in for the rest of the show.

It's sticking a free software on a phone with hardware gimmicks which lower-end manufacturers are capable of making with way lower price and install it with tons of bloatware. iOS is not free and being proprietary isn't either. Android is free and being open source is basically free either. You know what that means? You're a fagdroid and you know nothing about common sense.

JUST THIS ONE ACT WAS WORTH ONE MILLION. HE COULD LITERLY SIT IN A CHAIR FOR HIS NEXT ACT BUT HE STILL DESERVES IT

Saw this guy live a few weeks ago. He's amazing.
I think out of all the magic tricks Mat has performed, this one is my favorite. The craziest trick I've ever seen him do. He deserved to win this show.
He is amazing, he keeps getting better and better, he will go on. I haven't watched smoothini performing yet, but the pressure is on!

Obviously he had 3 identical phones and the "second" time he took the picture instead he sent the first pic to the phone in the chair which he most likely put in there before the show.

"That's my phone!" Mel. Her reaction was classic!
He amazing.
Ok let me explain the trick:
1) Mat used a deck of cards that had an all 6 section an all 4 section and an all 2 section with only the bottom 2 cards being an ace and a king. Then when he fanned out the cards he hid the ace and king at the bottom so they can't be picked. Look at 0:11 as Howard takes from the first section then at 0:19 when Hyde takes from the middle (he even says to) and at 0:28 as Howy takes from the end section because that's how Mat is holding the cards to him.
2)Before the show Mat prepared by putting an identical iphone in chair 642 because that's the only possible combination. (he can easily research her phone type and ringtone)
3) He takes 2 photos because the first is the actual photo and the second time he just sends it to the phone in the chair (that's why he only shows one photo at the end)
4) Look at: 0:35 how he holds his left arm completely still and 0:54 at the square shape in his sleeve. He has a fake phone in there.
5) At: 1:03 when we don't see him he switches the phones which is easy for a good magician and I can prove this because straight after he rolls up his sleeves and drops the fake phone in the water
6) Mat then makes the phone disappear because the folds the fabric in a special way so that it fits into a sleeve. Pause at: 2:02 and you will see the outline of the phone in the fabric (its in a small pocket and hidden you can also tell by the way he put the phone in at: 1:38 ). The hair dryer blows out the smoke.
7) Hyde calls the phone and Mels phone will not ring because Mat out it on silent while holding it before. And then Mat presses a button and makes the other phone ring and he then cuts open the chair, shows the sent pic and pre-set seat number that matches the cards and voila crown amazed (but not me)
Mat has 3 phones in total: the fake sleeve phone that can drop in water, the seat phone and the real Mel's phone!

Another great performance. Matt has been the most consistently good magician in the competition, no bad performances, unlike the others. I hope both he and Smoothini make it to the top 12, so we can have a 4 magician shootout.

Though this trick was pretty over the top, it was still pretty cool. At 0:55 he reaches his arm down, probably to retrieve a fake phone in his sleeve, and switches with the real one when he asked for a second photo (which he didn't show at the end) and the camera changes. There was probably a mic in the seat, and he might have concealed the real one with the knife in his hand, and dropped it in when he cut the hole. Plus, why would Mel have her ringtone on during a show?

He's a great act, very charming and all, but I have skeptic questions.
I mean why wouldn't Mel put a lock on her phone? And why does Heidi, a close friend I'd assume, get such a basic ringtone? Well the second one is reasonable but the first? Considering she's a celebrity and that anyone could get their hands on her phone and immediately access all her private stuff?
Actually, you can take photos on phones without unlocking them.
GHOSTbirdnatureLOVER I know :) but after you lock the phone you can't view that photo again.
And how did they hear the ringtone far away from the chair?

d He how could he plan that the seat's number is 642? unless he did some trick when he gave them the cards... but then how? the point here we all know that there is a trick, no one is saying that's real magic lol it's a good magic act, we don't know how he did it, we are amazed by it, means he's pretty good at it! simple!
I know how he did one simple part of the trick. When taking the second picture, he really didn't take a picture. He was holding down the top button to turn it off, to make sure it looks absolutely broken - he was hoping she didn't hold down the button, and luckily she didn't. And that's how he made it seem that if the phone was actually broken.
