- Finals week is over, it's darn cold, and I'm tired of working outside! In this video I get the shop bike-ready and then get the bike almost completely torn down!
Alongside keeping all the parts I took off as organized as possible, I also made a list of any missing/rusted/stripped parts I found during disassembly so that those can be replaced. I would highly recommend making this list as you go and not waiting til the end to try to remember all the parts you need to order.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. You have some really cool builds on your channel! I did actually get some JIS bits and screwdrivers, but they may be the wrong size…? They’re #2 JIS and still stripped some engine cover bolts, you’ll see in the next video.
Just finished your three videos on the CT90. I enjoyed following along. I have the exact same socket setup, for taking off that steering stem nut. Good call on new chain and sprocket. Just for future reference, if you had removed the left rear shock, you could have removed engine and chain together. Chain would have slid around the swingarm. I’d recommend picking up an impact driver and bits, it will make your life a little easier, for removing the JIS screws. Lastly, before I retired, I owned a steel shop in Indianapolis for 30 years. Some of our favorite customers (and a few future employees) were sculpture students, from the Herron School of Art. You made a couple references, that sounded like you attend a similar school. I look forward to future videos on the bike.
Also I’m not an art student but I did actually take a metal sculpture class this semester! All my woodworking is self taught and self directed though.
Great video, I just picked up a CT90 myself. I will be doing tear down pretty soon so your video has been super helpful!
@@theblueyamaha1 right on! Good luck and I hope to see some videos on it!
