I always laminate my patterns so they are stiff to draw around with the sharpie pen. This makes them very reusable for future projects. Love your videos!!
Oh no. Now I really want a saw and a teeny grinder bit! I'm going to be buying my first kiln soon, instead of hiring one, so will have a look at your videos. Lovely work! Thank you for sharing
Jill as always very informative, I am always cutting myself and keep plasters in my work rooom at all times so I will definately be getting some rubber thimbles.
I'm SOOO excited that you are showing us how to make these fish!!! I've often thought how I'd love to make some (I'm new at fusing) to go on my wall! Would you consider putting a print out of the fish shapes online at your website to download? They are so graceful and I really like the subtle differences in tail shape or body curves, it definitely makes the school of fish more fluid! Thank you! I can't wait for the 2nd video on these fish!!! You're an excellent teacher 😊
Glad to hear you like this video Kirsty. We have added a link to the mackerel outline template on our Discussion tab (visible from our RUclips channel home page) as well as in the Description under the video.
6:42 Tricky business to not break that thin tail off, good work! 14:20 Hmm, Taurus, the sign of the zodiac that I was born under, stubborn like bull! LOL!
Great fish and very clear instructions- thank you! Grinding and cutting I believe can create water droplets with glass dust in them which can be inhaled. Might be better to consider using FFP2 respirator to protect your lungs as face shield is really just protecting your eyes etc from flying fragments.
Thanks for watching. Good point on respirator. Normally Jill wears one, but makes it difficult to record good audio with a grinder / cutter going and a mask on. Should have done the audio as a voice over rather than whilst filming.

Hopefully will do one day. I'm very new and still not great at cutting glass. Jill, are you able to tell me where you get the grinder attachment for using the small grinder bit? Is it for the Glastar grinder? Many thanks. Ilove your videos too and look forward to learning from you 😊
OMG! I LOVE your channel! I been fusing for over 10 years and have never seen your channel. I LOVE this beautiful project. I have a brother who has been a tugboat captain for at least 35 years and loves to fish. I would super impressed with myself if I could do this project, LOL! I would love to and give it to him as a gift. Looking forward to stalking all of your vid's, haha! Thank you so much for your time and techniques, love it! 👍💖
Also, wanted to ask if you can put a picture of the Mackerel pattern for a print out for us to use. I have never been able to get firing schedules from RUclips videos either.
Firing schedules can be obtained from Warm Glass website, that's the schedules we use www.warm-glass.co.uk/kiln-schedules-cms-74.html We have added a link to the mackerel outline template on our Discussion tab (visible from our RUclips channel home page) as well as in the Description under the video.

thank you for this detaild and understandable tutorial. I have tried the fishes for my bathroom. It looks so beautiful.
Great to hear, thank you. Glad it was easy to follow.

The finger stools are one of those 'why didn't I have these before now' items if you cut / grind lots of glass.
Thank you very much for posting this project and sharing your method.
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Brilliant! Thanks Jill, looking forward to the next videos!
Thank you Anne!
Sincere thank you for showing me how to do this

Thanks for watching, yes there’s a risk of breaking the wrist of the tail of the fish.

Me definitely, thank you VR
Brilliant, glad to hear. Enjoy making them. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic series thank you so so much, question 😢 Is there anything you can do if one of the tail fins snap whilst cutting???
Unfortunately not 😏

Glad you found us! We are a new channel started in January 2021! You can certainly do this project, you're brother will love them.

Do you shape or slump your fish after they are fused?
Neither, nothing done to them.
Have you seen Part 2 and 3 of this project? ruclips.net/video/F-eU8lXuMbo/видео.html
i would like to have the pattern for the fish as well
Looking at creating a mackerel pattern, follow our Facebook page if you don't already as it will be linked there once live.
