So it's a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of the original......what could possibly go wrong. 😂 The Chinese whispers of games. They should call it the facsimile edition
There's bad porting, then there's horrific porting, then there's this. If everyone has the love that they say they have for the 3d trilogy of the GTA games, then where's the effort from the porters to actually give a descent care to what they're putting out? Why is every single version BEYOND the original release a worse version of the original? How hard is it to actually improve the overall experience when there's literally things added in the game that should in theory make it better? When in fact everything that gets screwed up elsewhere way overpowers the good these versions bring? Like did we forget halfway through development that we're supposed to be making a remastered experience?
When you use the very unstable android port from 2013 which was based off the original buggy PC release as a start point to build a "definitive edtion", it's quite an achievement it even runs at all. This broken mess is beyond fixing, it was doomed from the start. All this could have been avoided had they ported the actual PS2 version properly and then made their own texture pack with higher quality sound and less pop in. That's all they had to do.
I’ll be honest. I have a switch and I was actually thinking of buying this cause I thought they hopefully improved the game somewhat but now that I saw this, you pretty much saved me $60 dollars and actually played this just to warn others about it while sacrificing your own sanity for others. You’re a hero and I’m glad I subbed to you ♥️
The fact that they gave almost every NPC 100% accuracy in DE is genuinely the worst thing about SA:DE It's supposed to be a remaster! (Sorry, "remaster") They shouldn't be changing the game mechanics!
@@LikealambTotheslaughterDanny this is supposed to be an insult, your auto targeting shouldn't be worse than one done 20 years ago. It's like if you made a game today and had an AI that is worse than one from a game from the early '00.
The auto aim is fine on PS2/Xbox. Sure it's harder than PC on some missions but the game was supposed to be challenging and it was built for consoles after all so it had to work. Even free aim is better, a bit clunky but servicable - they optimized the sensitivity. I have played and currently own both versions. GSG just broke it beyond repair on top of making the AI accuracy near 100% at all times. Maybe because DE is originally based off the android port which was based off the sloppy pc port so analog sensitivity may have never existed on this version and thus they made it themselves.
HOLY SHIT 35:10 what a wild and funny scene. 10/10 port. Im doing a casual playthrough of all GTAs again, almost bought this (on pc though) im so glad I decided against it.
Same company =/= same developers Don't want to sound rude but rockstar along with other good in the past studios have been riding earned in the past popularity
for me I rage quitted frosted winter today. I made it through almost all the business missions, but "the plan 2" got me fed up. Ill just watch the other half of the game on youtube. thanks for the streams !!
considering how it's rockstar themselves working on it? most likely fine. the problem with these titles is that they weren't made by rockstar. the fact that these ever got released is a crime though.
@@LikealambTotheslaughterDanny they're bad at making updates for gta online. the last actual game they made was rdr2 and it was amazing, so i disagree on that front
i just got the platinum trophy for this game on PS5, and i had to use free aim and just turn the sensitivity way down so i could actually aim. the auto aim is genuinely terrible in this game
I have played the mobile DE version for a short while (a midrange Samsung phone is not powerful enough for it, the original mobile version is much more pleasant for San Andreas on the go) and watched Josh play it twice, and the main reason the Switch version is even worse is really the controls; the occasional lack of textures and shared DE "features" like permanent car enemy accuracy are the same. The autoaim is not super egregious here, which at least lets you hit something on a touchscreen, but then it also adds gyro aiming that's just as broken. Motion controls on Switch are not quite on the level of VR controllers, and native games like Splatoon account for that. Definitive Edition on PC at least can be controlled properly. The same broken autoaim is on PS/Xbox and most playthroughs you can find work around it by taking enemies one at a time if at all possible.
For me the "best" "remaster" version is the PS3 special one (not the emulated one). More forgiving on missions and have good looking shaders I, did the 100% one this one.
I tried giving this version another chance this weekend, I quit after all the power lines in the game broke and became like a foot thick, even reloading the game didn’t fix it lol.
The extreme tweaking of assists to (probably) cater to absolute casuals made this version stupidly worse and harder, somehow. I hate that this wasn't even the devs (the individual developers) fault, I've worked on stuff with crappy management and it's their fault for mismanaging the project. I can only imagine someone at GSG asking a junior developer to rework the auto aim system (even if it was totally unnecessary) all while that junior has not enough experience for it and is fully stressed out trying to just make it work. Trust me, I've delivered garbage software myself.
TBH gta:sade is better than switch version. Played both and used android anytime. Sudden frame drop always makes me lose races. Just don't throw your controller, man.
Hey just a recommendation but if theres a possibility can you add the link to the full vod on every video you upload (only if its not like the latest thing on your vod channel). Just a recommendation though! vids are always funny af!
Well, that looked painful 😅 I admire your endurance to even push that far with that bs of a game 😅 A longer story that might be interesting about GSG, for those who want to read it, so here's a TL;DR: I'm replaying GTA SA on PS3 Emulator right now and even this by accident kinda, as I stumbled upon a PS3 port of the game - and I didn't even know that existed until that point. But that port is good! It looks like a upscaled, HD modded version of the game, the controls are modernized (L2/R2 for break/gas etc.), the autoaim works WAY BETTER than the stuff we see in the Switch version of the video above. Well, if you move the wrong way you start shooting in the air instead of the enemy, but that are just small things and you get used to it. THEN I had a conversation with a friend about, how good this port of the game actually is and how much fun it is to replay it that way. So he asked me, or started the topic of "well, I'm curious if Rockstar did that by themselfs, or if another studio was involved?" and so I got curious, too. I booted up the game and read the terms and conditions bla bla at the beginning. Mostly Rockstar, but there was a line of "War Drum Studio" - huh interesting. Looked up games, where they were involed - OK cool. Then stumbled upon a german reddit post, that is 3 years old at this point, stating that "War Drum Studios" renamed themself to "Grove Street Games", and that he/the guy who posted that, is worried about the future of the DE trilogy. Well, nice foreshadowing on that part... But I had to laugh so hard, because the PS3 port is not perfect, but is feels like it was made from people, for people who want to play that game and enjoy it. Just to become the studio to ruin it all 😂 Maybe everyone knew that and I'm just an idiot :D But I think that is kinda funny and ironic. Last take on that: And even here I have to "protect" GSG a bit, because in the end it was Rockstars decision to use a wanky smartphone version to port for their DE trilogy...
Quality Switch port of a Quality Console port of a Quality Mobile port of a Quality PC port of a PS2 game just brilliant.
