- Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's music for Disney's "The Little Mermaid" has enchanted and inspired generations of children. The WDR Funkhausorchester plays the Orchestra Suite from the popular film. The conductor was Frank Strobel. A recording from 19.01.2019 from the Cologne Funkhaus, Wallrafplatz.

She's the star of the band. She deserves a solo recital, or at least always give her the best seat in the orchestra. Very good orchestra though.

What a deep piece of music, every time I hear it I can image all of Walt Disney's animation studios stopping dead in their tracks and running as fast as they can to the orchestra department trying to get a glimpse through a little window of what real magic sounds like and then holding their hair back and completely scraping every single drawing they've ever done and starting all over listening to the music while they draw. That's why the little mermaid is the most popular of all because they drew the music.
