PLEASE, its the most succinct description of the show there is.

Problem with creepy old guy is that watching the musical is required. I had the same problem cause I just listened to it instead of watching it.
Yeah I had the same problem as well, was very confused until I looked it up and saw some clips from the live show.

"Creepy Old guy" is very ironic. Lydia agrees to marry Beetlejuice, being blackmailed to save Barbara. But she and everyone else plays along, acting like they're okay with her marrying him. Keep in mind, she's 15. Beetlejuice has to marry a living person in order to be alive. So when they get married, he comes to life, then Lydia impales him, killing him, to send him back to the Netherworld. His mom shows up, threatens everyone, and he kills her (his mom) with the sandworm, saving everyone. He then returns to the Netherworld. The Deetz's and the Maitlands stay living in the house together, as a family. The Maitlands end up being Lydia's sergeant ghost parents.

this show goes from having a song for almost every key moment, very clearly have events take place during songs and thus making it easier to parse out the plot just from the OST, but then when it matters most there's suddenly massive leaps between songs and thus leaving out a bunch of plot in you're only listening to the OST, it's kinda interesting

yeah, the problem with the sound track is that a lot of act 2 has mini songs that further the plot (good old fashioned wedding) that they chose not to include in the soundtrack , maybe cause theyre really short? idk but that furthers the plot a lot, since thats when lydia goes to the netherworld.

"What I know now" was sung in the Netherworld, by Miss Argentina, a former beauty queen ghost that greets the newly deceased. She was played by the same actress that played Delia. Lydia was there looking for her mom.
Oh, so that's why Delia was wearing that sash in the finale! I've only seen the curtain call and listened to the soundtrack, so I didn't know.

This would make a lot more sense if you had seen the movie. Delia is Lydia's step mom. Barbara and Adam Maitland used to live in the house the Deetz's moved into, and they end up sort of being Lydia's adopted ghost parents.
hey there is cut songs from the musical so the storyline might not make sence there only cut from the album and there in the actually musical still but sadly the musical closed cause the outbreak but you can find it on youtube under a different name so just search Beetlejuice the musical full an you will get like over an hour video of the musical or like a one hour part video

No, Lydia didn't die at all. She married Beetlejuice (so he can live..like a "green card thing") and then killed him. She was sort of adopted by the ghost Maitlands, accepts Delia as her step mom, and re connects with her dad. They're all living together in the house.
