Ouch, nasty hit! Glad to see you're okay, hit's like that scare people. Most people look at stuff like this and say "pfft, not hard." Yet they don't realize what "g-forces" are.
Hey, man. Glad you're okay, and that's all that really matters in the end. I know it sucks having the car busted up, but when the day is done, the car is just stuff that can be replaced. Hope to see you back up and running soon. I enjoy watching your stuff.
That went bad very fast. Why suddenly loosing the end over the curb? Does not make sense. Glad you are ok and GL with the rebuild. What is the total cost of the crash in pieces only? You need to pay for track damages too?
If the curbs on the exit have rumble strips - which they appear to - that’s probably your reason. The lateral and torsional loads on the loaded axle are substantial in high speed exits. if your car doesn’t carry a lot of aero you will be compromised. If you are happy with your set up ( more bump and rebound control would be ideal but your set up may already be at optimum with your damper set up) I’d turn in later there and give yourself more room on the exit. Horrible to see accidents like this. They have huge budget cost implications to club racers.
It was from the rumble strip I wanna say, even tho I have no experience in rl, in sim racing *like assetto* whenever I hit curbs my car loves to bounce around and I get massive oversteer from the tires suddenly gripping. But wish that race could of gone better for you.
It happens soooo fast. I’m not going to guess what happened, you know better than anyone. The seat of my pants tell me a lot!! Glad everyone is hopefully no less for wear. I always think of Gordon Smiley when it comes to making steering corrections, it’s so lightning fast to make that decision. Like your videos my friend!! God Speed !!
Hey WD, yep that could have been it. The challenge is that I have video and data of probably 30 laps before this one (same weekend) with identical everything including line, steering input, etc. and the car never once reacted anything like that. I was running pretty soft in rear rebound but those rumbles are indeed high velocity compression/rebound at the speeds we are traveling. Lots of variables and I still don't know if something broke or the car just reacted in a very weird manner. I appreciate the input and thanks for watching!
Wish I lived a bunch closer to that track. NJMP is the only place I get to although I have raced a bunch of laps on Road America in Forza lol. Love the SRFs. Was looking to buy one for a track day car but went with a little more power so I only have to pass the Porsches once per session.
Hey RaceDay, no I didn't make this year due to family commitments. She is back together though and I've had a pretty successful year so far on the road to Indy. Thanks for watching and posting!
If you're still looking for reasons for crash.... may I give my .002 cent Observations? Turning in to quick, hitting inside rumbles, dirty from soil sampling, loss of grip sent you wide on exit. 2 wheel rumble is a warning, 4 wheels is a test. You failed that test and result is a line to my flag stand, that you didn't anticipate. If given the chance to retake test, turn left, t1 has big open alley on drivers left to regroup & reenter. Most common mistake I see,,,, turning in to early! Can be show stopping when done on bikes! As was this driving lesson.

#6 car: I CAME IN LIKE A WREEEEECKING BAAAALLLL!!!

Damn scary all those cars passing full throttle at the end, being run over could have been worse that the actual crash. Glad you are ok!!
Holy moly! That sucks. Glad to hear your ok, that could've been very very bad. Hope to see you back at it in 2017!! I'll be rootin for ya.
Glad you are ok! Hope you recovery quickly and can get the car back together
Those cars were flying by at the end
Glad you weren't hurt and hope to see you back on the track soon. Giddyup!
Just my observation but looks like you just got loose on the curb. Glad you're alright, that was a pretty big hit.
Glad you are okay! Can't wait to see more videos

It looks like there was a bumb on the Kurb which unsettled the car. Very weird... Or maybe a mechanical malfunction?
Left rear corner looks like it went down for some reason. Puncture, some sort of failure maybe or just hit some marbles possibly.

Hard to tell but it looked like your left front suspension collapsed or the tire went down. Maybe the tire just hit a rumble strip wrong.
Damn that was violent
Holy hell. Those rumble strips messed you up.
Accident occurs at 0:50 after the corner. You're welcome.

Glad that your ok bud!

crazy. looks like the second car hitting you was worse then the initial contact with the tire wall.
Wow. I never thought that curb was so dangerous. How much did that crash cost you?
That hit looked pretty big for this cars, but they seems to be more safety than it appears.
Looked like tire unloaded coming off the outside of the turtles. Less rebound may have tamed it.

Why back in 2017? Because a wrecked car is pretty much super expensive? =(
Glad you are okey, that looked heavy
Youch, I didn't get anything like that on my June Sprints video :) I hope everything went back together OK. Did you race in 2017 at Road America?
Hey RaceDay, no I didn't make this year due to family commitments. She is back together though and I've had a pretty successful year so far on the road to Indy. Thanks for watching and posting!
Um, did anybody else notice the top of the left front fender flapping around before the crash?
That look similar to the corvette wreck at le mans except you bounced back into traffic.
And the engine was still running at the end.
Omg thats Huge crash 😢😢😢
It went where you steered. Slow it down and watch.
the dude says that's a bummer
Spec Ford?
Yep
Everyone should have thought bubbles .
All I know is these things are very difficult to drive in iRacing.
Ouch

GO BIG or GO HOME. 😂
I have the door from this car from this crash
