My uncle was gay. Gave me a father figure after my dad died when I was a kid. Never talked about it, but was one of the nicest, kindest, most compassionate guys I ever knew. I have always been very proud of him, and I know he is now with God. Fortunately, I don't have to rely on pastor Bob's interpretation and be coerced into feeling any other way about my uncle, or you, or any other gay person. Hang in there, brother!
I became a born again christian at 22 yrs old. I was very much in the world. But when I got saved, I gave that all up. Never have a desire to be like that again. Its been over 40 yrs. Im so glad I dont want to be a sinner. I question if these people ever had a true relationship with God?

I get it...I was into sexual sin too...I slept with my boyfriend outside of wed lock.... But I realized it was sin, and I realized it wasn't right in the eyes of God, I also realized how much He loves me and I realized how much I love Him...so I wanted to change, I didn't want to have sex outside of wed lock anymore, I understood that what I was doing was VERY sinful in the eyes of God...I stopped with the excuses and trying to justify it to convince myself that it was ok. I knew deep down the way I was living was wrong, just like I believe Jennifer knows the way she's living is not right in the eyes of God. But here's the thing instead of condemning her like I see most of you have done , I'm going to pray for her just like someone prayed for me because if it wasn't for their prayers I might still be in that bondage of sexual sin....So I encourage you all to do the same.

I will be going to Heaven because I know Jesus has forgiven me for my sins because I repented, meaning I acknowledged and confessed toThe Lord that how I was living was wrong and not right and sinful in His eyes...I will never be perfect and I still struggle, I'm human but that's no excuse to keep going back to habitually (on purpose) return to sin... Am I going to slip? Yes but if I recognize I slipped in sin and confess to Him I messed up He lovingly forgives me and I am once again right with the Lord Jesus Christ. She may claim to be a Christian but in reality she is just a sinner. She wants to serve God and her flesh at the same time. Until she realizes her sin and repents she will lie in her sin. Have a blessed life sir, Jesus died for yours and my shortcomings, because of God's perfection, we as imperfect humans cannot be with him, but through the perfect life of Jesus and by putting faith in his death, burial and resurrection we can attain this perfection through Jesus. I'm Bisexual & an exile outside church who sometimes practices the Faith. Like her, I was a Christian long before I realized that I was Bisexual. I left church for many reasons, but not bisexuality. Later, I met another woman from my old church who also realized that she was "gay". There are more of us out there than people realize. I used to be one of those judgmental Christians who believed it was a sin, but then realized it was simply an inclination we're born with. I choose to be Celibate out of respect for the Lord and his law. I think it's unwise in terms of health for anyone LGBT to be sexually active. But I do not judge them for their choices. They must answer to God for it &, as the Bible says, pay for it in their own bodies.
Remember that the New Testament condemns homosexuality just as clearly as the Old: Romans 1:26-28, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Col. 3:5-6, Jude 7, plus Matt. 19:4-6, etc.

I’m Christian. My whole family is Christian. However, my sister is lesbian. Our family accepts and loves her, because we are loving Christians. To us, we know she cannot change her sexual orientation. She has grown up in the exact same way as I have been raised, and she is still this way. Before all of you start to condemn my family, hear me out. My sister is a better, more genuine Christian than I am. She is, in every way, far more involved in church; she prays every day, she goes to cell group and leads it, she is on the worship team, and she gives her whole heart and soul to the church. Our church accepts her. Does that mean she won’t go to heaven, simply because she isn’t straight? She has never done drugs or anything illegal, and as far as I know, she is the purest and kindest Christian I have met. We all live in some form of sin... there is no perfect human in the world. Does that mean she won’t go to heaven just because she isn’t straight? Does that mean I will go to heaven even though I am not such a great Christian? My sister does not live in active disobedience. She has tried to change, she did not make a choice to be gay. but she is in a loving and supporting relationship with her Christian girlfriend. Being Christian honestly should not mean being perfect... it should mean you love God with all your heart and soul. We need to stop being so hateful and ignorant towards others because of their sexual orientations. If all we preach about is love but then we show prejudiced hate, no one will want to even read the Bible in the future. We cannot let that happen because far worse things than “loving gay relationships” will happen. Let’s stop hating on the little things and other people’s lifestyles.

Actually Jesus spoke against sexual immorality which includes any form of homosexuality. Also your logic about Paul is very illogical. The church today was very much founded upon the ideas that Paul wrote in his letters. (humility, unity, exc..) But if you don't believe in the inspiration of scripture, then that's another matter entirely. And if you don't believe scripture is inspired or authoritative, what makes you hold Jesus' words any higher? And Jesus didn't specifically address a lot of things. You can't make arguments from silence. Especially considering we have every other reason to believe that Jesus upheld the moral teachings of the Torah, which as the eternal Word of God, and God's own Son, He is the author of. I’ve come out too and that is I’m A-Sexual. And I’m not Straight. So if I’m not straight then that means I’m a lesbian or in bi, no I’m not either! And if the churches are judging the LGBTQ people then they are judging me too but that’s not how it is at the church I go too. It’s about the sexual sin , That is what it’s all about at the churches.

Good for you Jennifer. I saw you several times in concert when I was a teenager. Always loved your music. Your courage in this regard has led thousands of young people to salvation and made them feel accepted and welcome in the church. Young people who have always been believers but have been scared away by the judgment of narrow minds that tell them they can’t be Christians based on their sexual orientation. Sadly, willfully disobeying God is not just a matter between, "God and her". Sin always effects others. She is sadly, just another example of a person who, though calling herself, "Christian, is actually a pretender. True believers stumble and then, repent. Knapp not only embraces the very thing that is destroying her but, destroying those young people who are being mislead as to what discipleship in Christ Jesus is all about. Is Knapp beyond God's grace. For now? No. But, eventually, even God will give her over to the lust within her own heart to disobey. That is what is so scary. So any other sexual pursuit is a perversion of what's right & any other way of life is sinning against God's perfect will & usurping God's authority by making your own judgment over Gods, even if you want to try to follow the God of the Bible in other ways. It's disobedience, rebellion, & sin - according to the One True God of the Bible. And if you claim to serve Him, then why are you asking us when it's plainly written in His Word? I’m so sorry for Jenifer. I’m a professional soloist and I remember enjoying her Christian music 🎵 God loves people. He doesn’t care about anything but holiness. All sin is separation from God. We know this isn’t okay with God because the human race wouldn’t go on without man and wife communion. Humanity would end if everyone was g a y. Jenifer knows she cannot enter the kingdom of heaven with the sin of homosexuality. I’m praying for her; for the veil of deception to be lifted.

If we call ourselves Christians, then our primary aim in life is to find out what pleases the Lord and follow him, not our humanly desires. oh how I love how far we have fallen in regards to the CCM industry. When Michael English had his very public fall, he lost awards that he had won, was basically thrown under the bus by his peers but then he came back stronger in Christ years later. When Sandi Patty had her affair, really nothing came of it and nothing happened - her albums were not removed from stores, she didnt have to give back her awards that she had won and now with Jennifer, she comes out and........yeah. Not sure what is going on in regards to the CCM industry and with Christianity in general, but, Christ said it best when he said - Few would find and walk the straight and narrow path but many are on the road to damnation - few, He said. I think a lot of people believe Gay people cannot be saved and that it is not true because we are all sinners and struggling to become more like Christ whose life style is the goal. The struggle of the church goes beyond the people and their personal beliefs but a much deeper issue that is within the bibles we have, and use. This particular subject when mentioned in scripture in both the Old and New testament speaks against this behavior. It was never mentioned or portrayed as a lifestyle but a behavior that ultimately connects all of our sins that are a unacceptable behavior that needs to be changed. The roman powers were well known for their sexual behaviors and the finger God was pointing to pagans, romans, and non-believers or children (Jewish) decendent. God stated that since we were believers He has called us out of that behavior (sins) and has brought us into a new behavior or life connected with Christ. In the articles below there are a lot of biblical examples such as eating pork, adultery, and its amazing that no where in scripture is a parable or example of Jesus speaking, healing, or dealing with a homosexual of any kind. As with any sin or unacceptable behavior lets look at some of those: Sexual, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, smoking, over eating, cursing, and the list can go on. Now, no one wants to hear about their behavior but we are quick to judge others and this to is a problem because there is only one judge. Can a homosexual be a believer? The answer is yes. Can a homosexual get into Heaven? The answer is, I don't know because only one holds the ticket to get there and his name is Jesus. I am not qualified to make those decisions about heaven and hell because only God can see the heart. He does not look on outward appearances as people do. In fact, He said, his ways were not our ways and his thoughts were not our thoughts. So, bottom line for anyone and everyone is that we will all stand before the Judgement seat of Christ and give account of things done and said. All we can be is ready to meet the one who paid the price and see what His decision will be. Keep in mind he will refer to his word that will stand when everything fades away. My uncle was gay. Gave me a father figure after my dad died when I was a kid. Never talked about it, but was one of the nicest, kindest, most compassionate guys I ever knew. I have always been very proud of him, and I know he is now with God. Fortunately, I don't have to rely on pastor Bob's interpretation and be coerced into feeling any other way about my uncle, or you, or any other gay person. Hang in there, brother!

God knows our struggles, but we must choose to obey and get in that mind set of his way, not our way. God will help each one of us with our struggles. Be open to his help and guidance.

I get it...I was into sexual sin too...I slept with my boyfriend outside of wed lock....
But I realized it was sin, and I realized it wasn't right in the eyes of God, I also realized how much He loves me and I realized how much I love Him...so I wanted to change, I didn't want to have sex outside of wed lock anymore, I understood that what I was doing was VERY sinful in the eyes of God...I stopped with the excuses and trying to justify it to convince myself that it was ok. I knew deep down the way I was living was wrong, just like I believe Jennifer knows the way she's living is not right in the eyes of God.
But here's the thing instead of condemning her like I see most of you have done , I'm going to pray for her just like someone prayed for me because if it wasn't for their prayers I might still be in that bondage of sexual sin....So I encourage you all to do the same.

I will be going to Heaven because I know Jesus has forgiven me for my sins because I repented, meaning I acknowledged and confessed toThe Lord that how I was living was wrong and not right and sinful in His eyes...I will never be perfect and I still struggle, I'm human but that's no excuse to keep going back to habitually (on purpose) return to sin... Am I going to slip? Yes but if I recognize I slipped in sin and confess to Him I messed up He lovingly forgives me and I am once again right with the Lord Jesus Christ. And He will do the same for you...But without repentance there is no forgiveness.

No, the guess what they are right now with her with the the Father.
God is more concerned about our holiness then our happiness....
Followers of Jesus are not called to have it easy but you better believe that we're going to have our reward in Heaven, we're going to live in complete happiness complete holiness complete joy and complete peace, nothing that a man or a woman, a husband or wife, or this whole world can ever offer, and it will be soooooo beyond worth it.
This fading world that has nothing for me, is the closest followers of Jesus will ever get to hell...and for unbelievers of Jesus this world is the closest they will ever get to heaven and I'm sorry but Jennifer is well on her way to that road and if you approve of her lifestyle you are on the same path as her ,praying for you both.

I'm Bisexual & an exile outside church who sometimes practices the Faith. Like her, I was a Christian long before I realized that I was Bisexual. I left church for many reasons, but not bisexuality. Later, I met another woman from my old church who also realized that she was "gay". There are more of us out there than people realize. I used to be one of those judgmental Christians who believed it was a sin, but then realized it was simply an inclination we're born with. I choose to be Celibate out of respect for the Lord and his law. I think it's unwise in terms of health for anyone LGBT to be sexually active. But I do not judge them for their choices. They must answer to God for it &, as the Bible says, pay for it in their own bodies.
Remember that the New Testament condemns homosexuality just as clearly as the Old: Romans 1:26-28, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, Col. 3:5-6, Jude 7, plus Matt. 19:4-6, etc.

Who are we to judge? He who is without sin may throw the first stone. I'm conservative and a Christian. I have her first three albums, which all have great Christian meanings. Actually I believe that a lot of people who expect to go to heaven are going to be surprised. Yes, I believe the Bible gives us a fantastic moral code. I don't expect to make it up there. My life has been far from perfect. Nobody should try to turn away anybody who seeks the love of God.

I agree with Jennifer Knapp that there is room for interpretation in the Bible on a number of things...probably a lot of things...including on whether or not homosexuality. Often my fellow Christians (tho' not all of them, of course) are shocked when they find out that I'm ok with gay marriage. I’m Christian. My whole family is Christian. However, my sister is lesbian.
Our family accepts and loves her, because we are loving Christians. To us, we know she cannot change her sexual orientation. She has grown up in the exact same way as I have been raised, and she is still this way.
Before all of you start to condemn my family, hear me out. My sister is a better, more genuine Christian than I am. She is, in every way, far more involved in church; she prays every day, she goes to cell group and leads it, she is on the worship team, and she gives her whole heart and soul to the church. Our church accepts her. Does that mean she won’t go to heaven, simply because she isn’t straight? She has never done drugs or anything illegal, and as far as I know, she is the purest and kindest Christian I have met.
We all live in some form of sin... there is no perfect human in the world. Does that mean she won’t go to heaven just because she isn’t straight? Does that mean I will go to heaven even though I am not such a great Christian? My sister does not live in active disobedience. She has tried to change, she did not make a choice to be gay. but she is in a loving and supporting relationship with her Christian girlfriend.
Being Christian honestly should not mean being perfect... it should mean you love God with all your heart and soul. We need to stop being so hateful and ignorant towards others because of their sexual orientations. If all we preach about is love but then we show prejudiced hate, no one will want to even read the Bible in the future. We cannot let that happen because far worse things than “loving gay relationships” will happen. Let’s stop hating on the little things and other people’s lifestyles.

Actually Jesus spoke against sexual immorality which includes any form of homosexuality. Also your logic about Paul is very illogical. The church today was very much founded upon the ideas that Paul wrote in his letters. (humility, unity, exc..) If you can just take the parts out about things that Jesus did not very specifically mention then what part of it are we to believe?

Sadly, willfully disobeying God is not just a matter between, "God and her". Sin always effects others. She is sadly, just another example of a person who, though calling herself, "Christian, is actually a pretender. True believers stumble and then, repent. Knapp not only embraces the very thing that is destroying her but, destroying those young people who are being mislead as to what discipleship in Christ Jesus is all about. Is Knapp beyond God's grace. For now? No. But, eventually, even God will give her over to the lust within her own heart to disobey. That is what is so scary. As far as another reason besides it's not how we were Created: it's not how we were intended, then & now. It's a sin in God's eyes. It's a fulfillment that is a perversion of what God considers right, & He knows what's right because He is perfect & Created all things.
We live in perverted times with a majority who does not follow God, so the narrow path is defined by God & not people. People are already saying that they love their pet or their parent & want to get married & have sexual relations, and that it makes them happy and it's not hurting anyone, & so on & so forth, but God knows it's not right. We have to fully submit to be true followers of Christ. And, you must be born-again to be endowed with the Holy Spirit who leads us into all Truth. And Jesus is the Way, the Truth, & the Life.

oh how I love how far we have fallen in regards to the CCM industry. When Michael English had his very public fall, he lost awards that he had won, was basically thrown under the bus by his peers but then he came back stronger in Christ years later. When Sandi Patty had her affair, really nothing came of it and nothing happened - her albums were not removed from stores, she didnt have to give back her awards that she had won and now with Jennifer, she comes out and........yeah. Not sure what is going on in regards to the CCM industry and with Christianity in general, but, Christ said it best when he said - Few would find and walk the straight and narrow path but many are on the road to damnation - few, He said. Let us all pray that we, that you and I, would be one of those few that find life and cling to Him and not to the things of this world which pass away and change in an instant.
Also, in regards to what she calls personal desires in regards to sex, romance, love, etc - what is more important - having someone who you can love, have sex with etc or being in a solid, loving, relationship with Christ....I know some, if not most people, would rather take the sex, love etc but few would want Christ and only Him - FEW! When it comes to sin, we cannot and must not pick and choose what we consider sins. Sin is ANYTHING that separates us from the love of Christ. Anything that makes us turn from Him and run to the darkness. It can be sexual sins, pornography addictions, drugs, walking away from Christ, etc, we MUST not pick and choose which sins are indeed sins and which sins are not. When we do that, we begin to walk away from the Truth and we run to the darkness

I think a lot of people believe Gay people cannot be saved and that it is not true because we are all sinners and struggling to become more like Christ whose life style is the goal.
The struggle of the church goes beyond the people and their personal beliefs but a much deeper issue that is within the bibles we have, and use. This particular subject when mentioned in scripture in both the Old and New testament speaks against this behavior.
It was never mentioned or portrayed as a lifestyle but a behavior that ultimately connects all of our sins that are a unacceptable behavior that needs to be changed. The roman powers were well known for their sexual behaviors and the finger God was pointing to pagans, romans, and non-believers or children (Jewish) decendent.
God stated that since we were believers He has called us out of that behavior (sins) and has brought us into a new behavior or life connected with Christ. In the articles below there are a lot of biblical examples such as eating pork, adultery, and its amazing that no where in scripture is a parable or example of Jesus speaking, healing, or dealing with a homosexual of any kind.
As with any sin or unacceptable behavior lets look at some of those:
Sexual, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, smoking, over eating, cursing, and the list can go on. Now, no one wants to hear about their behavior but we are quick to judge others and this to is a problem because there is only one judge.
Can a homosexual be a believer? The answer is yes.
Can a homosexual get into Heaven? The answer is, I don't know because only one holds the ticket to get there and his name is Jesus.
I am not qualified to make those decisions about heaven and hell because only God can see the heart. He does not look on outward appearances as people do. In fact, He said, his ways were not our ways and his thoughts were not our thoughts.
So, bottom line for anyone and everyone is that we will all stand before the Judgement seat of Christ and give account of things done and said. All we can be is ready to meet the one who paid the price and see what His decision will be.
Keep in mind he will refer to his word that will stand when everything fades away.
Romans 5:8 But God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
