I worked at the quad, then one Thursday night it opened its doors for the 1st time in years, some new dj Knowler, packed out, i was blown away, then they started Thursday & Friday, I quit working and started raving, Thursday died when Saturdays were introduced, then came the all nighter, and don't forget the night the bizzies raided the club, never seen so many drugs thrown away lol
Not all their parents did the rave thing but if you are 17 - 21 yrs old this is EXACTLY how the party dance scene was way back no phones etc just am ELECTRIC kind of atmosphere 😎👌👌
From 1988 to 1993 it was amazing, 88 to 91 was pure love, togetherness, after thst bad drugs, music seem to get darker as did the characters coming into the scene,. The love just seem to drop away for me anway. Been some great nights after 91 but the introduction of social nedia EGO's, and the DJ becoming more impirtant than the music and the people just made me drift away. But for 3 or 4 years its was pure escapisim, freedom of expression, togetherness, love without any fear, it was a family
I blame the D&B & Jungle scene. It got dark & people stopped dancing. It went from us all as one together to different genres & people growling instead of gurning with euphoria. Quadrant park was a proper Acid/house Rave experience. 🙌🕊️🙌
Simply the best atmosphere in a club I've ever experienced...closely followed by the Park in Chorley and the Thunderdome. As a Manc....going to Bootle was like going into bandit country but only ever had one bit of aggro at the Quad..brliiant nights, brilliant music, brilliant times
Used to feel the same about going into Manc, but had some great nights in Bowlers and the Hacienda, don't think the folk who went raving gave a fuck about where you were from. I used to love speaking to all the kids from outside the city in Cream. Cream used to be only about 50% Scousers cuz it was so well know, there was another club in town around that time, more mid 90's, called the 051, which was only really know by the locals so that was a good night out if you just wanted to be with a load of other folk from Liverpool, which you did sometimes.
diecast jam the state was also boss but couldn't beat the quad only lived half a mile away lived it Friday Sat nite then downstairs for the all nighter couple of doves and a bag of Billy sorted or them strawberry trips that were going around fukin loved it
My uncles and aunts were there this night and I remember them coming home smashed and waking me to cook fried breakfasts cause not a one could function of them 🥴
Same in the Eclipse. People did go based on what DJ was going to be playing, but nobody was hero worshipping them. Most of the time, you couldn't even see the DJ.
Regular attendee at a club that was the most important experience of my life, and I'm sure I'm not alone, that first taste of a white dove, nothing else has ever come close to the feeling of unbelievable joy, MDMA just isn't the same now, plus the amount of people offering any substance as soon as you are past the door security! Happy days
These WAS the GREATEST PARTY DAYS EVER ..we are all privelidged to have experienced these times ,these were when people hugged chatted and danced ALLNIGHT LONG and everyone got along .....💗😍👍
Fucking IMMENSE - as a 16 year old Wiganer sneaking out with the big boys of the Wigan squad every week to come here was amazing, looking at this as a 39 year old, IT STILL IS!
amazing just watched this again, if I could live life over quad would be one thing I could never change. so many great nights and happy memories. Love it
Ridiculous..! This kind of atmosphere of people, music and scene will never be recreated again..... We've waited nearly 30 year for it to happen again.
Never went to the qrad,we was in liverpool in 1990,the plan kind of changed we travelled up from london to see a friend the meeting place, the coconut grove, then we was going to go to the quad on saturday night ,what happened we broke down outside birmingham and was told by the midlands police get back on the motorway in 4 hrs or else pounding time it is,3 hrs 45 mins later we was of,on the way up we saw the same police officers on there way back with a toetruck my mate who is know(rip)rest his soul, kind of gave them a wave(lol)with his middle finger that is,then we got to this club round about 5;30am,my mate the driver parked up then went to sleep,me and his brother(lsd up decided to go for a walk(lol)about 2 hours we found him still sleeping, yes we kind of got lost in liverpool city centre(lost londoners in liverpool day)then we all decided to go to manchester>hacienda instead,so when we got to manchester we saw strangeways prision the driver decides he wants to park up and have a look we then got approched by a drugdealer from blackburn who was with his mates pinching copper metal from there, they asked us where we was form, then he said,if you are looking for a rave to go to,go to monroes in blackburn, from there a illegal rave is going to be travelled to in yorkshire so we went to monroes, then the driver says,im going home,im fucked im not raving tonight,so what happened next we went back to london didnt go no where that weekend. ? what city was the best place to rave in 1989/90/91 manchester or liverpool what club was the better club quadrant park or the hacienda.

Making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, fucking atmosphere is great, don't know how my heart stood it. You can see why some of the most important clubs have been in Liverpool The Cavern, Eric's, The State, The Quad and Cream. We manage to have the knack of keeping it quiet too, everyone goes on about the Hacienda, which don't get me wrong was great had some good nights in there but nothing like The State or The Quad.

Late 80's early 90's was the greatest time for electronic music, pioneers making some unbelievable music.
I was there! You just cannot explain the atmosphere, the experience. You had to be there. Wouldn’t change it for a second. Best days of my life. X
Best days of my life also %100
Absolutely, every fucking weekend, guaranteed. What sh someone would invent time-travel!

its the way old clubs were set up. you still get that in some rnr clubs but not dance...keep in mind that raves were set up like that though
