Alberto Montero i don't understand why people put Ronaldinho ahead of Ronaldo,Ronaldinho's role model was Ronaldo himself and he was proud to play alongside his idol which he said in many of his interviews at those times.Watch Ronaldinho's highlight reel and Ronaldo's,a naked eye can tell the difference why Ronaldo was called the 'phenoneno',i'm not saying that Ronaldinho was not that good,he was great as well but not on the level of R9,thats it.Injury or not,in his short carreer what he contributed to the game of football is exceptional,he made the game more beautiful to watch,his speed,skills,power and strength was truly amazing,it was like watching a magician at his work,i was born in the 80s,and it was a pleasure watching R9 doing his magic at the pitch when i was in my teens,i was truly inspired by what he did,so all my life i've always admired R9 for his talent and his contribution to football,for me there'll never(i mean in a million years) be anyone better than R9,he was out of this world like messi today,that both do the unthinkable,crazy runs beating the defenders and score crazy goals but i give a edge to R9 cos he looked flamboyant doing it with his skills and tricks added to his style,it was a real treat to the eyes seeing it,so the bottom line is if i had to make a list of the greatest players of all time than R9 would be on tthe top forever,i won't mind or give a fuck whoever is on the 2,3,4,5,6 or 7 spot(no disrespect to all the greats tho)

Good point! I had a hard time myself positioning both of them, I do think R9 is a more complete Player technically and a stronger player, and very likely the most effective football player I've ever seen; I just putted Ronaldinho ahead because I think Ronaldinho achieved more International Titles; even though they both won the World Cup together. But R9 could easily be ahead as well. It's not that easy between them, I guess; it was kind of tentatively.

A few facts to clarify why he was at least the best striker that ever stepped on a football pitch ( if not the greatest PLAYER ever ):
1- He played at his prime only for 2 years ( at Barca and first year at Inter ); all other years don't count either because if injuries or just because of idiot managers ( Hector Couper to name one )
2- He recovered from the thoughest injury in football history ( complete tear of all ligaments ) and came to be the top goal scorer in WC and dragged his team ( a terrific team ) to the win ( with 2 goal scored in the final );
3- All the top defenders of all time place him above Maradona ( because he played in Italy too ) in terms of difficulty to restrain him; Cannavaro said he was just unplayable ( we are talking about a ballon d'or defender ); Maldini, arguably the best full back and left back ever, defined him "obsessive" and "frightening".
4- He used to dribble whole defenses in La Liga by himself and just score; at that time there wasn't only 2 good teams and Barca was at most average.
5- A lot of players in La Liga during that year just defined him as "unfair" and "unplayable". Today there are a lot of adjectives used to describe Messi or Ronaldo "God", "Alien" and such. But you know, "Unfair" and "Unplayable" I think really explain all that there is to explain.
Injuries did cut his insane career short. Without a doubt he would have been the greatest to play the game but he missed a lot of years due to injury

Ronaldinho is my favourite and I think him and R9 are the best to ever do it. Messi and Ronaldo have just been levels above everyone of their generation for over a decade but in my opinion they're not as talented as Ronaldinho and R9.
