Back in the late 1940s, my mother worked as a secretary at Lewis and Son. A few years before, to become skilled as a secretary, she went to the Butler Business School on Broad St which at that time was across the street from the Bpt Library.
That bldg on the corner of Knowlton and E. Washington with the new windows at one time back in the day, was owned by a Bpt cop and the ground floor had a bar called Hooligan’s.
