    Lucifer has never been a parent, he never even liked children, so the fact that he's trying to connect with Rory by making all these gestures that he come up with is really sweet. And the fact that it was music that connected him with his daughter, like it did with Chloe or Father Frank was just beautiful.
    Btw his moves when he took Rory to Lux and threw a party for her - he own's me (again) :D Bloody brilliant :D

      It's not just that... he never had a good parent to learn from. So on top of never being fond of children and being thrown into being a parent immediately, he doesn't have any knowledge to fall back on. quite frankly i'm surprised he never thought to go and talk to Amenadiel about fatherly advice

      He kinda had practice with Trixie, they have a nice bond as well. I mean, after he was done pushing her away and actually took time to spend time with her (alongside with Chloe) 😁

    Back in the season 5 finale Michael asked Lucifer why he played the piano of all instruments. "I mean, you're the edgy one, wouldn't guitar be more of your thing?" And now we see Lucifer's edgy daughter play the guitar.

    It's fascinating how in the beginning Amenadiel was unaware of humans obsession with skin colour, until the episode with Caleb. And I have to say, Rory is such a great character. Mini Lucifer xD

    no doubt in my mind that Netflix (and the fans) saving Lucifer (twice) was the greatest thing possible. If Fox still controlled this show, there is no way in hell that and episode like this could've happened. They never would've okayed a deep dive into police brutality and racism the way that they got to with this. Bravo to Netflix for letting the writers of Lucifer shine so much with their storytelling!

    We have seen throughout all Lucifer' seasons how they portrayed the sheer number of bad cops in the precinct.
    In S1, we started with lieutenant Monroe who wanted to become chief of the police no matter what even making a deal qith Lucifer, then Malcom, a dirty cop, and Palulocci, Malcom's partner, who covered up all his filth. There were even other policemen who knew about Malcom's activities and let them pass. Recall that when Malcom kidnapped Trixie, he told Chloe to go alone to meet him , because she did not know who she could trust in the precinct.
    in s3 in addition to having Pierce as lieutenant aka the sinnerman, we also had Lieutenant Herrera, another dirty cop (Maze's episode in Canada)
    on S4 they showed us the racist side of the police in Caleb Manfield episode.
    in s6 we get to the point where a racist police officer with several complaints against him is promoted to detective.
    At this point I think the only detective who did her job was Chloe, since even Dan had a dark side and several dirty things to cover up.
    The point is, Chloe was in the police force all this time, was she blind?

    • @oxanatarashchuk4598
      @oxanatarashchuk4598 3 года назад +2

      Interesting, but we couldn't blame everything on Chloe. She did her police work great, when she understood who Malcolm is her first move was to arrest him. About her first chief - well, she didn't know about her deal with Lucifer. Plus that cop who killed a child in Maze episode - Chloe investigated and arrested him. Well, to be fair, nobody excluding Lucifer at the precinct knew the truth about Pierce, when Chloe found out, again, tried to arrest him. And that racist cop... did she know how he was? And what she had to do? Where is her fault?

      @@oxanatarashchuk4598 as charlotte once said "a lot of coincidences make a pattern", Chloe was a good detective, she should know what was happening around her.

    • @capricorn4monkey
      @capricorn4monkey 3 года назад +3

      I found it hard to believe that LAPD had only a few detectives, I'm sure they're dozens, we don't see them as they don't matter to the story, but blaming Chloe for doing her job, and being a single mother, a devoted friend, a good co-worker and partner is a bit of a stretch. She joined the force as she believed in justice, in her father and his moral principles, she lived after those principles, wanted to do good and help people so blaming her for not seeing all the shady stuff of other colleagues is too much. I believe when she saw this kind of injustice she tried to rectify it and that's why at the end, as she trusted Amenadiel and his mission, she took it as a mission of her own to try to change and correct the status-quo in LAPD as much as she could, just like Lucifer did in his part, but it's a titanic collaborative work that takes time and mostly a change of heart and conscience from everybody involved.

      @oxanatarashchuk4598 3 года назад +3

      @@capricorn4monkey agree, thank you for your support. Even when she saw the injustice, what could she do alone? Blaming her is just not fair

      @@patriciadoyharzabal1560 You are asking a question that is being asked about all police officers in the US (and Canada, and elsewhere) right now.
      It *is* a pattern, but it's not any *one* person's fault, the police forces and unions as they are now, are corrupted (and racist) systems. Some of that was baked into it from the beginning, based on how and why policing became a thing. Ex, to protect the property interests of the higher classes, aka keeping the enslaved from running away. Then there's also the privatization of prisons, and monetary incentives for upping tickets handed out and arrests made... Plus the tendency for the wrong type of people that gravitate to positions of power. It creates a big mess.

  • @capricorn4monkey

    Adam, I really love your enthusiasm, pure, genuine, soul and heart, you're like Ella always seeing bright side of things and choosing to be good. And we need more people like you to balance the darkness in this world. I always loved your reactions but this one moved me deeply. Injustice in the system exists everywhere; the one depicted in this episode may not be like that in my country but definitely there are people in the force who supposedly should protect the innocent and seek for justice and truth but who really don't care nor doing their job as they should; I know from experience and it's really depressing.
    I know this episode received a lot of backlash because there are still people who believe stories like this are more political and shouldn't be part of an entertainment tv product. I whole-heartedly disagree as every movie, tv show, book, song, every artistic manifestation should leave us with a meaningful message, learn us something, bring something positive, a little light in the darkness and not just be cheap consummerism with no meaning at all and transform us into numb beings, robots. The irony is that many of us are still indifferent but we live and confront with a lot of these situations without taking a stand aside from complaining.
    I loved this episode, I cried at the end, it's hard not to, I loved the father-daughter bonding for me this entire relationship hit me so hard to my core as I have a very rocky one with my own father.
    Lucifer as a dad I never knew I wanted but it is so warming and sweet and suits him so well; it was a pure delight watching him become a father, it came and fit him so organically, another reason to show his big heart, beautiful shining soul and unconditional love.
    Thank you Adam again for being who you are, love you so much !

    Rory is a witch. I can't stand her. No one takes into account that Lucifer is going through stuff too. Rory acts like she was always alone, when she had a loving family! She's like an angst driven Goth teenager
    You're right that this was an important and well-developed episode. It showed a sign of racism and apathy within the force. Dan & Chloe didn't realize that because of them not following up (not through bad means, but because racism never affected them personally) their inactions were also part of the problem. I love that both of them saw that, and that now Chloe can do something about it, maybe. Of course, she'd have to go back to the PD, so we'll see if they continue this storyline.

    If it were just the complaints for the LAPD for the last year and a half piled up on one table the table might not be able to support the weight of all of those files if it were the real complaints from actual LAPD officers.
    Obviously this would only be the case if it included civilian complaints because rarely do officers report other officers so I would say in the last 10 years it would probably be about that many for internal investigations

    If you look into a lot of people who were either soldiers or generals or involved in leading the Confederacy what they did after the civil war was mostly become police officers and go in government and so did their descendants technically the Confederacy never surrendered the war there was just a ceasefire issued and they have continued the war on people of color since then covertly by making it legal for cops to shoot black people making it legal for white people to shoot black people in the streets as long as they provide legal excuses.
    Such as there's been a lot of break-ins recently and I was worried for our safety and then they chase them down with the gun end up in a fight and then end up shooting the person and they can claim that they were scared for their safety and therefore get away with it with only a minor inconvenience to their life with the investigation and all.
