    I have the same Goldstrike accessories Chris. I found the brake cover raised the height beyond stock. This caused me to be unable to rest my boot toe on the pedal without activating the rear brake light. So the pedal is adjustable and I lowered its height to allow a resting position. The adjustment also will if not done correctly cause the brake light switch to remain on. The trick is to adjust both and allow your boot toe to float above the pedal and at the ready to step on the brake. Otherwise I was originally forced to move my toe onto the floorboard or cant my boot to the outside not the optimum preparedness position. Lesson learned. Manual shows how to adjust both.

      If the brake pedal is lower than the foot rest, you may have a longer reaction time trying to find the rear brake therefore I set my brake pedal in a higher position and keep my boot to the rear of the pedal. The beauty of the floor boards is their adjustability, each rider can adjust their foot resting positions to their desired comfort level, up down forward or back until the best position is found.

      Yes I tried all positions Chris and found my foot size 11 was stressed keeping to the rear of the elevated cover. The reaaction time for me was straight down rather than lift , forward then down which seemed quicker to me. But I see your option too and it I guess is muscle memory and personal comfort. Just a thought I wanted to share. Changing from OEM footrests to the Goldstrike small boards led me to this observation. Love your videos. 👍

    Great video. Ordered both items for my 23 DCT bagger using your code and it worked. I caught my left landing leg pant on the stock footpeg once coming to a stop so the floorboard is perfect. Got the pegs and brake pad and installed and adjusted them. The left floor board has to be mounted as you show to avoid the kickstand. They feel good sitting on the bike and will try them out when the snow and salt are gone. Thanks!

      The Goldstrike black version looks really cool too but since I already have the chrome 3 way adjustable highway pegs on the bike, I wanted the floorboards to match, with color you can’t go wrong!

    While I appreciate that owners make detailed videos like this, they really should try to get their facts straight before publishing something that perhaps many people will watch and then copy. Perhaps it is just semantics on the first thing but it is a COTTER pin, not a CARTER pin. The bolts for the min-boards actually require a 1/4 hex to tighten/loosen. A 6mm will work but it is sloppy and could cause damage to the bolt. For the brake pedal cover, Goldstrike recommends right in the instructions using some threadlocker on the screws. Ride safe.

    I just installed the Black version of these. Would not recommend them. The paint is too thick for them to mount properly and chips off when installing the bolts. I removed and reordered the chrome version. Just my experience yours may be different.

    Thanks Chris. Your the best. A very simple installation but without you who would know. I have a six speed and I’m not sure if I’ll get the floorboards but the brake pedal cover looks great. I love all of Goldstrike’s stuff so far. Quality and looks and who supplies color instructions? Only Goldstrike.

    WIsh I had found this video before I purchased the floorboards for my 2023 Tour DCT to get the discount :P Since I have a black goldwing, I went with the black gloss floorboards. The driver adapters were extremely tight in the mounting flange. I thought it was the thick paint, so I sanded off some paint. Left side was still tight (moreso than the right)..left does not move, but on the right one, I can move with my hand, but still too tight for the spring to do its job. The flanges on the adapters seemed spread beyond being parallel. Kind of disappointed in the quality.

    • @jgoogleheim8880
      @jgoogleheim8880 6 месяцев назад

      My black floorboard was too snug on the left also so I sprayed wd-40 down the pin and flange joints. Worked the board up and down a few times and now the spring works and the board moves smoothly.

    I installed these but ultimately removed them because it reduced lean angle and I kept scrapping them. I kept the hwy pegs but still have to be careful with those if I'm leaning the bike.

  • @bryanttaylor358
    @bryanttaylor358 2 года назад +2

    These look much lower than the stock foot pegs. Do they scrape when leaning hard?

    • @chriscaliente5033
      @chriscaliente5033  2 года назад +5

      They will scrape if the rider tries to prove how big his testicles are by leaning the bike over 90 degree into a sharp curve but hopefully by then a witness has already dialed 911. If a rider rides responsibly he or she will not have any problems…

      @@chriscaliente5033 Bah ha ha ha! Well played, sir.
      Seriously, though, my Kuryakin highway pegs drag a bit on hard turns (slow speeds). Just curious if these might further limit turning.
      I'm no moto-racer wanna-be; too old for that nonsense.

      @@bryanttaylor358 scrape easily. I am not a hard leaner but am not worried about turning into a corner either. They scrape easy. Not Goldsrikes fault it is the position of the GW. However it would have been nice to have a replaceable strip on the bottom of the floorbaord. The floorboards do flex up so no danger of “catching” the street. 21 GW -Ken

    These floorboards make it impossible to ride with anything other than thin tennis shoes if you don’t have a DCT. Because there’s not enough room between the shifter and the floorboard to get your foot in. So I am getting a heel Dash toe shifter.
