I'm still legit shocked we got a part 3.
That's because fans were asking for it.
Unlike the one with Tatsunoko.
Capcom at the time released marvel vs Capcom 2 on Xbox live arcade and ps3 which high sales greenlit mvc3.
@@mgkaotic It was already in production when SF4 was being made. Or when they first got the marvel license again it was already in the planning stages. MVC2 doing well didn't matter at that time.
@@mgkaotic
That one did only little justice.
What we truly needed was an Ultimate MvC2.
@@KenMasters.but the one with Tatsunoko was more fun than people the people who played it expected.
to make mvc3 on a whole new engine in a new style but make the characters still feel exactly how they did in mvc2 (like wolverine for example) is a feat not many praise. the dev team such a good job on this game.
Doom and Magneto feel completely different. Sentinel is entirely redesigned. The combos are much easier and it has the worst comeback mechanic of all time. MvC2 was the last true arcade tournament fighting game and MvC3 ushered in the age of the player who rarely leaves his house yet is still 100x more socially adept than Super Smash Bros players
@@robertmanes9333 sounds more like your projecting
@@ryutou-ki4dl projecting? I played SF professionally for many years and watched the scene evolve in real time. If I said anything that was untrue please inform me
@@robertmanes9333😱👩🏿🦲🙉
@@robertmanes9333"In my opinion"
The Marvel vs CAPCOM games have always been a phenom.
There aren't many fighting games that I unabashedly _love._ I got into the genre too late to try and tackle that high skill ceiling. But SSBU, Soul Calibur 2, and especially UMvC3 are three games that are consistently a blast for me to watch and play. If this is the last great game in this beloved series, I think it went out on a _very_ high note at least.
erm actually there is a fourth game *adjusts glasses*
@@amala1333 erm technicly it's past 4 anyway because there were other games of this franchise that didn't hold the name MvC
I'll never forget the Xbox 360 days bro. I remember using Wolverine, Akuma and Wesker in vanilla then Magneto, Doom and Vergil in Ultimate. Capcom thought that Infinite could replace UMVC3 lol.
I wish MvC2 also got an Ultimate,
the HD Remix did only little justice.
UMvC3 was incredible
@@BabyMaharaja0is*
Infinite was garbage
You, and your wonderful wife, continue to pump out amazing content. I love Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as much as Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Thank you so much for this trip down memory lane.
BTW, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom needs a re-release on modern consoles.
No mention of the modding community still keeping this game alive & fresh by continually adding more characters (still to this day) such as Asura, Rashid, Ken, Cyclops, Bishop, Carnage, etc?
We need a MVC4
Either that… or a Capcom mashup game with the same mechanics as mvc and a giant roster, bigger than 2 even!
With Killer7
THIS
Isn't Infinite MvC4?
@@stamariagerardjimelsolano8146 No, infinite was a Disney PR shovelware game. It isn't MvC canon
@@stamariagerardjimelsolano8146 No, I don't see any 4 anywhere, Inifinite is that... Infinite :P
MvC3 was so much fun!! I was honestly disappointed when Magneto, Sentinel and Dr. Doom were back since they were SO prevalent in the last game. But i still loved it
Dissapointed that they are in the game? I am confused what you mean.
Capcom is just saving them for dlc content imho
@@NexusARC Yeah, I was disappointed that they were in the game. Because I'd figured the meta would once again lean just on them and I wanted to see new characters and movesets explored.
@@jerfuhrer2581 Oh I see what you are saying dude. I had similar feelings too.
I loved this game. Was the resurgence of fighting games and a great way to end the 360/PS3 era. Was shocked when it was announced honestly. Hoping they make 4 soon and combine the roster from 2, 3, and Infinite with a bunch of new faces. Rei from Breath of Fire 3, X-Men, Asura from Asura's Wrath, and whomever. The PC Mods have been amazing and Capcom could sell DLC for years. Give the people what they want! Take my money!
My friends and I loved MvC 2 and CvSNK 2. When street fighter 4 and MvC 3 came around the fighting mechanics didn't, for lack of a better term, "feel right" anymore. I don't know how to explain it but the jumps felt off and the timing of the hits were changed. So we stuck to the 2D sprite fighters.
Wow. I feel you 100%. I appreciate the hell out of mvc3... but I have so much muscle memory in mvc2 I could never stick to 3
The mechanics were dumbed down for players who weren't used to playing fighting games. Part 3 also made it too simple to make combos. Felt like I was playing in a circus then a fighting game. As a fan, I was disappointed
@@bless1984funny because that is the exact same sentiment people who are invested in mvc1 felt when mvc2 released, atleast in the arcades I am playing at. Mvc2 felt like a circus and dumbed down (because of the 4 attack buttons instead of 6)
@@bless1984lol people hating on mvc3 like it's 2011... kinda nice in a nostalgic way.. I think mvci plays the best out of all mvc
@@adrianmagtoto9775not many people took mvc1 seriously.. This is coming from someone who is friends with the top 2 players in the world Eddie Lee and Arturo Sanchez
Spider-Man, Deadpool, Strider, Akuma, & Dante were always my picks 🫡
I still play this. I have it on my PS4 and my VITA.
How's the online?

The Teddy Long references never gets old. 😂
capcom loves tag matches holla holla holla playa
Considering it’s the last game in the series people want it to survive for as long as possible. Its a real shame they never made a 4th game, but with Marvel being the way they are it’s not surprising.
(Cough infinite cough).
My sisters and I grew up having such fond memories playing this game 🧡
He made fun of vergil.
You should really watch out for storms approaching your location
Vergil might be the most overrated character in all of fighting games. He’s top 5 100% but most pro’s put him at 5th because of his poor incoming options
I mean... even the Pros fear the player who main Vergil~
22:00 the 2014 guardians movie. It’s also possible he was on the roster because of annihilation wave
Marvel was already working on the GotG movie by then, that's the same reason Dr.Strange was included even though he movie still took a few more years to come out
Great game, I mostly got to play solo but it was a lot of fun.. mvc2 was one I played often with friends . Both games are among the best. Thanks for the vid
We played this game a lot in my barracks when it dropped and It helped bring a lot of us together!
TH If the REAL Virgil was playable in this game, it would be the most expensive DLC. You should see what he charges for autographs. Nice reference btw
MvC 3 revived this franchise, MvC Infinite killed it, urinated all over it, pooped on it and burned it to the ground.
Infinite felt like a rather a sequel to Marvel: Contest of Champions while it tries to mimick the gameplay formulas of both MSH and XMvsSF.
The game was a complete downgrade, even thanks to Disney who won't stop milking both the Avengers and Guardians.
The worst roster choices in Infinite:
Rocket Racoon and Monster Hunter
@@KenMasters.monster Hunter is great. I have no idea what are saying
@@paulakroy2635
Monster Hunter was only on the roster for one purpose:
To promote the Monster Hunter franchise.
Overall, the Monster Hunter character (without any character whatsoever) seems like he belongs on the MvC1 assist roster with all the other random characters. Infinite should've brought assist heroes back, Monster Hunter would fit right in that lower-rank roster of unplayable tag-partners.
And then the fans travelled back in time to prevent it (with the mods)
SF4 and MvC3 were the peak of Capcom
MvC3 is terrible compared to MvC2, just my opinion.
mvc2 was peak
@@Feracitus Marvel VS Capcom 2 is the best
It’s back again too. Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 will be a main game at EVO this year!
I have UMvC3 on my PS4 and Xbox Series S. I will be getting the PS4 version for my PS5 soon. Ghost Rider is one of my favorite Marvel Comics characters.
In Marvel vs Capcom 3, cheaters and rage quitters are forced to face each other online while being separated from the honest players.
I love how this video came out on the time when most of the mods for the game alos they are incredible
thanks to the new series of extra character and balance mods my new main team is Leon, Monster hunter and shadow lady
I find MvC3 to be visually confusing. It's way too dark and that clashes with the fast action and flashing, and it makes even harder to see more than it already was.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Though I do enjoy the game in short bursts, I agree that the lighting and effects obscure the action too much. I actually much prefer infinite to 3 for that very reason, though that game has its own faults.
@@kamikaze82Same
@realalpha, agreed
Honestly the opposite for me.
@@paulakroy2635 i think it has a visual identity crisis
I love UMVC 3. My best team is Chun-Li, Felicia and Tron Bonne!
I’m glad UMVC3 became the Melee of the FGC
A game that came back after its sequel flopped for the competitive scene
Seriously. Because of mvc infinite, this game gets a comeback.
Its still great, better than Infinite.
I agree 33% but for the first time EVER all the 6 avengers are playable including allies like Dr Strange and Black panther and Gamora + Rocket + Nova!!
I keep praying that every character should return including Jill from MVC 2 and Chris R., Nemesis and Wesker.
If only we gotten a Capcom vs. SNK 3
Proof if necessary that the world isnt perfect...
To me marvel vs capcom 3 (umvc3) is the greatest fighting game of all time and one the best games ever made
The fun factor with modern graphics is nearly unmatchable.
Honestly was surprised no mention of mvc 3 increased longevity from the mod community 🤔.
Imagine an MVC4. We don't talk about Infinite but imagine the screams and the freakouts the fans would have when seeing the game play being similar to MVC3 with a returning cast from MVC2. That would be incredible.
There are rumors and leaks, according to reddit, that there's going to be a MvC4 by next year.
This is literally marvels/capcoms GREATEST fighting game.
I would argue THE Greatest fighter of all time ! Till they release a commenable sequel
Idk what it is but this 1 I actually bought the day of release. I'm not a huge fighting game fan, I'll get them used normally
I own this ps4 version surprisingly it was $100.00 final available copy. My youngest brother will inherit it when I'm no longer living.
$100? I think you may have gotten ripped off there, guy.
@@Marc_Araujobut it’s an investment
@@Marc_Araujo don't matter it was impossible to find anywhere else other than ebay. I tried for two years prior couldn't find it.
@@truemperahzentertainment6133I just looked up the price for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on PS4...the prices are just absurd.
@@truemperahzentertainment6133buy it digitally.. I bought the Xbox one version and then after so much use the disc Wasn't readable anymore so I just bought it digitally and don't have that problem anymore...
I just bought this game for the ps5, never played it before looking forward to playing it
I think UMVC3’s roster is fantastic! And many are true to their character. I imagine you enjoyed MVC2’s roster more due to being more familiar to who the characters are.
Umvc3 has one of the best opening intros
Its crazy that u posted this right now. Cause i just started playing this again a couple days ago
that's google spying on your phone and feeding you the right content =)
Nothing compared to MVC2. That game was perfection. MVC3 was fun but they missed a big chance to build on the roster of MVC2. I know it had DLC but I came from the era of complete games released on day 1. I didn’t appreciate having to pay for more characters
mvc2 isnt on the level of attention umvc3 is unfortunately. id be surprised to see mvc2 make it past a 100 entrants nowadays
FACTS!!!!
3 felt like a dumbed down version and I really disliked it for that..
I don't think it's fair to compare. Considering one is 3D and the other isn't. Do you know how much time it would take to remake every character in 3D? Plus Marvel being restrictive with characters didn't help(Capcom Cyclops and Juggernaut to comeback but they said no)
@@kylev938 It's different, but I wouldn't call it dumbed down...
Still a fun game. Super skrull, wolverine, and doctor doom ftw
Marvel vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs SNK, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 was my younger days. Me and my friends played on consoles than arcade machines that wasting money or tokens. We used to be casual players back then in my time.
being a filthy casual is not a flex.
The fact that this game is still played and modded to this day is insane. Infinite deserves it's failure, while UMvC3 deserves it's success.
We need a proper Capcom Vs. Capcom game
Who cares if Capcom Fighting Evolution existed and if it proved such an idea would fail. That game failed for different reasons and should never be counted as a write off for there not to be such an idea. A proper VS game with Capcom characters is one I can see happening if given to the right talent.
What about us who want Marvel? Do we just pray ArcSys or NRS make a Marvel fighter (that'll probably give everyone completely different movesets than MvC anyway)?
MY MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS GAME WAS THAT IT HAD TOO MANY DARK STAGES. ALSO HATED THE 3 BUTTON LAYOUT. PREFER MVC1 6 BUTTON OR TO A LESSER EXTEND MVC2 4 BUTTON
Love this game, the music, the graphics, the characters. All feel like a celebration of both universes.
Also I don’t get MvC2, I don’t like it.
Still playing UMVC3 every week 😎 And now the Mods are Added, can't wait the full release 😁
Capcom vs tatsunoko was great they should make the sequel
Perhaps a Switch or Steam Deck version would be more of a possibility.
FACTS
If you dont consider infinite as the same....well,of course didn't die
Here I am, waiting for Community Edition
These videos always give me new life when deck building... now I wanna see one about the new dragon empire guy from Dz-Bt02 ( * When two become one ... I SYNCHRO SUMMON LOL ( HE IS A FUSION ))
Please do videos on mortal kombat 3 (& UMK3), Tekken 2, DOA2, & Soul Calibur 3. As well as videos on SNK's World Heroes Series, the Godzilla fighting games, the Blazblue series, Primal Rage, Mace The Dark Age, Sonic The Fighters, & Pokken Tournament
I wish SF3 was more popular and the sequels were in that graphic style. It was a elegant style for a more civilized age
Hi THGM, I’ve searched everywhere but can’t find anything on this subject. Could you do a video on what SF2 would have looked and played like on the N64??👍
I say let Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and it's Ultimate Edition, stay alive. Matter of fact, I would love it to be rereleased in more modern game consoles. I would love the change to play this game on my Nintendo Switch. Hell, I would love it even more if those mods that the fans created actually be part of the main roster.
Honestly, I massively prefer the spread of characters offered in MVC 3 over 2. Though 2 had more fighters, a lot of them were only pulled from the X-Men and Street Fighter series, making the rest of Marvel and Capcom almost feel like guest stars. We had most of Jim Lee's X-Men roster in the game, yet somehow couldn't get Thor to complete Marvel's big three. I feel like MVC 3 does a much better job at covering all corners of their respective company's franchises. There are still some odd choices (funny as they are, I'd still trade Shuma Gorath and MODOK for Venom and Thanos any day), but overall it feels like a roster that delivers much better on the promise of Marvel vs Capcom.
Venom being cut in a versus game feels bad but honestly Thanos feels weirdly medicore in the vs
If I had to compare I would say MvC2 is better, but I still love MvC3. I am a big Tatsunoku vs Capcom fan, so I love that combat style being changed from 2on2 to 3on3. MvC3 has so much unique style it really stands on it's own, and I love to use Zero from Megaman X.
Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is tough, brutal and sometimes complete bullshit… but is one of my favorite fighting games of all time.
Does anyone actually understand this Teddy Long running joke?
Been wondering that too. Thanks for addressing, I hope someone answers.
He played the General manager on WWE Smack down for years and he would solve drama every week by declaring tag team matchs or making them go one on one with the Undertaker.
@@TopHatGamingManChannel Thank you! 😹

a two weeks a go, velberan a youtuber br made a video with the tittle. marvel vs capcom 3 se recusa a morrer (marvel vs capcom 3 refuses to die) very coincidence isn't right ?
My only disappointment about MvC3:
I wanted 100 heroes on the roster including all 56 MvC2 veterans, I didn't mind the newcomers but Rocket Racoon and Phoenix Wright don't go well.
Phoniex Wright is the most hype
@@paulakroy2635
Pheonix Wright made no sense.
He belongs on the assist fighters roster like the one MvC1 had.
Capcom should make an X Men fighting game with ONLY X Men characters similar to SF6 and X Men mutant academy 1 and 2! Just imagine the success it would have!
So..... X-men: Children of the Atom 2?
X-MEN: Children of the Atom 2?
That idea would work better than the Mutant Academy Trilogy itself. But it's too late for that idea because MvC sells better.

Lol it already happened. It’s called X-Men children of the atom.

My friends, this may not be the end, look at what happened then after Marvel vs Capcom 2, legal issues stopped and almost erased the idea of a new Marvel vs Capcom, just like now after Infinite. Not only that, why would marvel let Marvel vs Capcom games be part of the EVO if does games are not longer in your interest? there is a light at the end of the tunnel, maybe marvel and capcom can take us to a ride, One more time....

MVC3 did bring the franchise back at least! But MVC1 is still my favorite!
I did not like MVC 3 as much as its prequel MVC@. The button set up through me off. Another great video mate!
UMvC3 was such a popular game, it was the last great game made for the PS Vita.
There’s a reason MVCI failed, because this was the pinnacle of the perfect Marvel vs Capcom game.
(2 was good as well, but 3 is just top.)
I rented umvc3 from blockbuster when I was 11 and it changed my life 😂
lol, sometimes ill randomly play arcade mode and wont even bopther to turn off online matchmaking requests because i assume nobody is playing anymore but people do still play surprisingly
Damn...I forgot about the Skylanders ripoff they had back in the day
We need a mvc collection or mvc2 redone with hand drawn sprites. That would sell like crazy, but Capcom hates to make money.
The Mods are making UMvC3 more Alive!
Just a suggestion: can u maybe get a better mic? I'm at full volume on my phone but its still not loud enough for ur videos. I'm doing laundry and its not bc the washer is loud 😂
