I listened to this with high end skull candy headphones I bought at the gym and I could definitely tell the Uzi had a rounder and more promiscuous bottom end. The Power Driver just took the top end off completely like a drunk blonde at a nickelback concert while the Uzi waited for the right moment to sneeze in my dads mouth and punch my mom when she wasn't looking. I still have a fully wrapped unopened copy of Pearl Harbor on DVD. Not because I'm a collector, but because I saw it in the theater. Once was enough.
this had me literally triggered right after the first ten words, then laughing out loud ten words later. Then it had me in awe and finally left me confused and yearning for answers and more confusion. Nicely done, this kind of youtube comment artistry needs more appreciation.
The power stack has a way more organic sound for me. The UZI of course has more versatility. What about the noise? I've heard that the power stack is very noisy and you can't get rid of it even with a noise gate. Have you ever tried the joyo british?
Ultimate drive is supposed to be an OCD clone (ish) so I am to believe I thought both sounded pretty good for that heavy sound. Not something I would be using it for massively but a great solid drive tone nonetheless. Maybe next vid is showing how the UZI handles lower gain tones, as that powerful EQ could really come in handy!
@@yaguitar The UZI is supposed to be a BE OD clone yeah, I've heard the same. I was talking about the Joyo Ultimate Drive that you mention being a DS-1 clone, I think I remember Simon saying that it was an OCD with a few values changed.
My only problem with the power stack is how noisy it could be if you're trying to play a little smoother. I really dig the Joyo's 3 way EQ, and of course the knobs can be swapped! And who can beat that price tag! Do you have any suggestions on quieting down the BOSS other than with a noise gate of some kind?
A good buffer at the beginning and end of your pedal chain should solve it. You want a 1meg input- 100ohm output- then your pickups think they're seeing an amp and responds accordingly- and your amp thinks it seeing a guitar and does the same- all your pedals are totally isolated behind a buffer both from the instrument and the amp. The Mesa Boogie Hi-wire is a good one, Vertex makes a good one- totally gets rid of any signal loss too- it will sound like you're plugged into your amp directly with a ten-foot cable- doesn't get any better than that. Of course, you have to use a decent grade instrument cable- but if you do, you'll never have any more noise issues from pedals. Humbuckers help too- of course, but man single coils just sound so good- I can't get the lead tones I like with humbuckers. That said- when I play my Epi Les Paul, I've noticed without any buffers or anything the noise is considerably less. Still- I only use it for rhythm parts- got to have single coils for leads.
+Dan Luzanycia you could, you can reign it in a bit! it does a nice marshall mid gain when you set it right. I'm trying to get a full review up next week.
I had to leave at 3:28 because I can't stand to see something get slain so mercilessly despite its efforts... It was like watching someone beating a puppy. Boss for the win until the nukes finally do the Universe a very small favor. Your accent is getting a little more convincing with each episode, I can tell you've been practicing.

The Power Stack killed it
It's a good pedal, I personally I prefered how versatile the uzi is!
Boss sounds more like real amp from 1970s, while Joyo is too compressed. But it really depends on what type of music you like.
Totally. I've watched tons of uzi videos and this is THE ONE. It has the answer I was looking for, the uzi is very compressed.
The power stack has a way more organic sound for me. The UZI of course has more versatility. What about the noise? I've heard that the power stack is very noisy and you can't get rid of it even with a noise gate. Have you ever tried the joyo british?
All these types of pedals are noisy as hell. Not tried the British, but own and love the American, so imagine it is good !
@@yaguitar I own the American and also love it. Cheers.
Great video! Although the Uzi can emulate more, the st-2 sounds more HD and organic (from my earphones, at least).
I miss the Uzi. Traded it and regret it.
@@yaguitar replacements will be easier after the quarantine

It's a Friedman BE OD clone I believe. I will do a full review next week as it covers a huge spectrum!

@@BudgetPedalChap yeah realise that watching it back, I actually meant to say the Mooer Ultra Drive lol
@@yaguitar Either way, I'm very much looking forward to an in depth on this UZI.
Thanks for the comparison, I have the power stack and it is a great pedal. I think I might get the JOYO for my heavier stuff . Lord bless

Honestly, no! Less gain and noise gate - oh and humbuckers!

Im All over the look of the uzi! It just looks cool as fuck
Great review! Which one do you think it would help me achieve Adam Jones/ Tool tone?
Thanks! They joyo is more flexible, so would probably help more. And a good digital delay 😀
Not that it matters, but the Boss Power Stack is digital. Do you know if the Uzi is digital also?
I believe it is analog.
Great review thank you!
Thank you 😁
the boss seems to have more "bark" that i enjoy
It's probably a truer Marshall sound than the uzi.
Could you use the uzi as lead boost or would it be too powerful. I'm mainly playing classic rock stuff
+Dan Luzanycia you could, you can reign it in a bit! it does a nice marshall mid gain when you set it right. I'm trying to get a full review up next week.
@@yaguitar awsome! Looking foward to it! Cheers !
Algumas configurações o jogo ganha outros o Boss! Mas eu compraria o joyo uzi
Thought the uzi would sit better in a mix
I don't use this sound nowadays, but if I need it the ST2 is on my shelf. I had a Plimsoul also, but kept the Boss over it ☝🏻
uzi is nice pedal..gonna get one!
The Uzi seams to have more high end and sounds fuller.
The Joyo British Sound pedal is a better contender against the Boss Power Stack

You look like man from karaoke Taxi:) Good review
Do you mean James Cordon?
@@yaguitar yes;)
boss by far!
the price too
Joyo clearly winner...gonna buy one 👍...thanks for review 👍
Awesome. I sold mine and really regret it lol
🤜🏻🤛🏿🤘🏿
the sound is almost similar. good videos
Joyo shat all over it IMO.
UZI is more fuzzy....not that it is a bad thing.
not comparable stack is for drive and uzi is for distortion
The stack is meant to emulate a marshall or American style stacked amp. So is the Uzi.
but the difference is the gain so we need to have balance

?
Joyo sounds better to me.
Joyo uzi sounds too thin and useless, dont waste your time with this cheap clone
How long did you keep yours for?
