If BMW had to screw up anything with the M3, I'm glad it's the grille. What an excellent driving car, and that engine is a huge step up from the previous model. Great take!
How is the engine a huge step up? It revs to lower RPM, makes lower torque down low, and has more turbo lag. Its better on a very marginal way but also has some compromises vs S55 motor.
Due to the weight increase (~400lbs), the performance gains over the previous gen isn't as great as you'd expect. Go check out CarWow's video comparing the two and you'll be surprised at how well an "old" M4 keeps up with the new one. Either way, I love every iteration of M3 and it remains a dream car for me.
The interiors do it for me. Such beautiful color combos and I love the sport seats but I hate the grill. I would need this to depreciate into the pits to ever consider it

17:10 The only other high performance sedans with a MT that I can think of that's coming out soon are the CT4/5 V blackwing, which also look to be very promising. I think I'd still take the M3 though. I'm over the looks of the front grille myself!

Excellent POV, as always! The G80 grille has sparked so much controversy. I know I seem to be in the minority, but I think the G80 is the best looking BMW ever. I think that when it was first shown to the public, they all decided to hate the new styling and not even give it a chance. I can remember the same thing happening in the early 2000's, starting with the 2002 7 Series. (I loved those in the beginning, too) I think people will warm up to the styling eventually and realize how amazing this car is. If I had 100k to spend on a car, I'd be saying "BMW, PLEASE take my money!!" lol

@@atefm6 It’s takin me a few years to figure this out. Do you know why it’s $10,000? BMW’s do not age well at all. The higher the milage on a BMW, the more of a money pit they become. That’s why a Toyota Tacoma will cost $10-15,000 more then this BMW M3. Because the Tacoma never brakes down, and could go 500,000-1 million miles. A used M3 at 150,000 miles, will be very painful just to reach 200,000 miles. It will be very costly just to get her to 200,000 miles. I would just hate being in the middle of no where and be sitting in a BMW that won’t move. I could be in a Toyota or Honda and go as deep off the main road as I want, and she will easily get me home.

I've always been a BMW guy, but the newer hood shapes just don't look good to me. It's a square cut out shape, instead of the previous cuts that went alongside the natural lines of the car.

@@chrisgill4888 Could be anywhere from tire pressures and uneven wear resulting from that, to bent/worn suspension parts or subframe issues if you've ever been in an accident. I've experienced this issue with various vehicles across the spectrum, not just BMW.
This is also a press car, it's likely it's been driven in an aggressive manner that could have effected tire wear to the point where it may need an alignment.

@@billymania11 Nice car. I traded in my ‘21 M2 Competition 6-speed for a G82 and can tell you this car isn’t a cruiser by any means. In fact, it goes around corners faster than my old M2 (which is why I traded it in).
Just remember the more the HP the less reliable it will be, look at all the X5 M engines that had to be replaced. The vehicle will never be the same after an engine replacement, i.e. mostly NVH complaints. Hate to be negative but if you want a reliable vehicle get a base model BMW with a non-turbo engine and you can keep it much longer! These M5 Comps would be good if you have a warehouse collection and just let it sit.
Great video! Is it really necessary to get carbon ceramic breaks if I am not gonna track it? Ceramics are so expensive plus I am worried about noise that they might make.
I own a tuned M2C and a ton of other cars including supercars, including an F12, and I can tell straight away the S55 is in another level for a turbo engine, from the high revs, instant response, torque, N/A feel (in the M2C torque delivery setup at least) and it’s overral agressiveness, I’ve had the M5C too and that engine for instance is great too, but nowhere as near as special and angry as the S55, it even has more turbo lag and other negatives when compared. I may be biased but I guess the M2C is the last proper M car, people say the steering doesnt have much feel compared to the hydraulic systems but I actually prefer it, its so much more direct and much more sorted for drifting, not like previous M3’s where you had to turn the steering wheel 10 times to counter steer, you can feel a lot of the car, especially the rear end, the M5C is a total video game to drive tho, you cant feel anything, and the G80 looks like that, a smaller M5C. Anyways no tuned ZF8, hybrid or anything will get near the F80/F82/F87 ever and I think it’s wrong you say “those things dont even matter”, of course the G80 is a better car and a great one too, but nothing worth of its price tag and especially the “M3” badge, M cars shouldnt be about comfort or refinement, if I was interested in that I’d get a mercedes which is way better in all of these aspects. I couldnt had the oportunity to drive g80 but i hear much more gripes bout disadvantages over the last s55z. Hopefully check myself soon. But seems the s58 looks like a more faster b58 than a upg over s55.

It has more lag because it has bigger turbos, tuned these are 700 awhp/whp 9 sec cars. It has a massive top end gain over the f80. F80 falls off a cliff on the top end.
The looks of the 4 door is growing on me. It’s nuts seeing the power and grip of this thing on public roads. An M3 is on my short list for replacing my MK7.5 R but can a car have too much performance? I don’t know that I would find a use for 7/10 of the performance on any roads in Colorado.

The looks of the 4 door is growing on me. It’s nuts seeing the power and grip of this thing on public roads. An M3 is on my short list for replacing my MK7.5 R but can a car have too much performance? I don’t know that I would find a use for 7/10 of the performance on any roads in Colorado.
I’d say the 2023 m3 becomes a hybrid with the i4’s interior in order to complete with the new w206 c class
