As promised, it is time to start filling up a Canadian Small Cent Collection from all of the Canadian Cent finds through the last 65 boxes of pennies I have searched through as part of my Lincoln Penny Hunt and Fill Series. I am excited to see how much progress we've made so far and to see if I have any rare or valubale varieties for the Canadian Cents. Let's start filling up the Albums! During this hunt, I take the time to look for several of the Rare and Valuable Canadian Pennies to familiarize myself with the different varieties that can be found. I also tried to make sure that the video was informative while still being as fun as I could make it. Hope you enjoyed the video and if so, let me know if you'd like to see even more Foreign coin hunts like this one. Keep hunting and good luck! They're still out there for us to find! Paused about 2 minutes in. I am excited for this thrilling hunt and fill series. I hope there will be Canadian Quarters and Canadian Dimes to follow. Had to cook some popcorn, so exciting.
I've probably hunted hundreds of penny boxes at this point, and all of the Canadian cents I've found have just been sitting in a huge box for years. I think I shall start a similar process to what you're working on myself.
Me too. I’ve just been throwing them in a jar. I learned a lot from this video. Now I think I’ll have to search them for varieties and get a Canadian album myself.
I just finished a box of cents, that i found a dozen Canadian's in it. 2 1956 a 58 59 2 1960, 62 64 .... 2 1965 1970 and a 77. I had a lot of FUN!! Cheers ROB! JJ
Thank you for this video rob Canadians are my favorite currency thank you your the most highest quality, RUclips, coin collecting channels love your videos rob!
Gotta request a video on that bucket of Maples you have there. What a great video. This has to be my favorite coin channel. I learned a great deal about the Canadian varieties in this video.
That's a lot of base knowledge just to get the right coins slotted. I got some Canadian penny books a while ago to do the same thing you have done but I need to go back and do it right. Thanks for the great school lesson on Canadian cents. I appreciate it.
When I was 10 years old in 1970 I started a Canadian Penny book. Back then I was able to find ones from the 20's and later (KG5's were still possible to find back then with some regularity). This was all from US circulation in the Buffalo NY area which of course was awash in Canadian coins.
1948 is a scarce date for Canadian coins, surprised you actually found one! The half dollar and dollar for 1948 are easily the most expensive of the bunch, though!
I have been a fan of the Canadian cents since I started collecting, as I appreciate a look at the Mapleleaf design. Keep up the good work on the series as I look forward to seeing what you can find roll searching.
Very informative video ty. .You taught me a couple things I didn't know on varities.I dont think my older canadian cent book shows these varieties. I do have the pointed 1985 penny.Wasnt aware if the 1965 variety pointed Just the beads variety.
I got a penny box on Friday and it sucked for the first 46 rolls but on roll 47 I found my 3rd copper of the box and it was a 1927 king George with 3M minted!
Even up here in Northern New York, all Canadian coins are hard to find.Good luck with the hunts.I'm stoked that you are doing this series.Maybe down the road a Canadian nickel series?
Being Canadian , i really enjoyed this Break - i still have about 20 rolls of pennies and have almost finished my collection from 1900-2012, if you need anything rob to finish let me know and i can open the rolls or send you some to go through- .i am currently working on my US Pennies and as you can imagine we don't get any up here and i still need lots
Very informative Rob. I actually have quite a few Canadian cents and will be starting my own books. As a side note, my last nickel search I found a 1939 P DDR.. It's in prolly about a VF 25 or 30. Still $100 coin roughly. Just wanted to let you know. Love ALL your videos. Keep em coming!!!
Great video, Rob - I've been looking forward to this one, as you know! And you did a great job looking over and explaining the different varieties your viewers will want to look for in Canadian cents to round out their own collections. And now you've got me looking forward to a future monster hunt when you look through that huge jar of cents! One thing to keep in mind for that hunt are some of errors and rare cents in the 2000's. There are some where the penny bearing the 'P' composition mark (meant to indicate multi-ply plated steel - i.e., magnetic) were actually struck on Zinc planchets and aren't magnetic. Some can be quite valuable. You have enough there that you stand a chance of finding one! Hey, you never know!! Great job!!!
@@RobFindsTreasure Really looking forward to it! (And I keep my cheat sheet handy in all my hunts so I don't miss out on one of those less common errors. With all the P's, RCM logos, no logos, magnetic, non-magnetic... well, it's enough to make your head spin!! Cheers!!
you also need to look out for the 1985 pointed 5 its rare to find also i still have some cdn pennies left, also i have some 2012 that have a ettra piece of metal under the first 2 and some around the zero most of them are the steel cents'
I’m still finding Canadian pennies occasionally here in Florida (due to Canadian seasonal residents?) even though it’s over ten years since the last were distributed and about eleven since the last were minted. Maybe Canadians bring their stashes here to spend? Seems absurd…
In your personal collection, did you have to buy proofs to fill in the 2007 non magnetic and the 2010 magnetic? I would be impressed if you found these two in circulation.
@@RobFindsTreasure my friend says he has a 5 gallon paint pail full. Any guess on how many that could be. Coinstar takes 12% commission on machine and I said I would tool them up for him at no charge as long as I could go through them.
Great video, Rob! I’ve been working on my Canadian cent albums for a little while, going through boxes of pennies and what have you. I actually had a subscriber send me five rolls last week and I put a video out about it last night as well. Feel free to check it out and give me some pointers! Thanks bro!

Hi Rob I think it would be very cool to see you do a box of Canadian pennies and see what you would get that would be awesome to see
Oh Canada! As a Canadian, I find this very interesting. I will have to check my collection to see what I have. Thanks Rob!
WOW! I learned a LOT about these fascinating coins! Much more interesting to collect than Lincoln cents!!! I'm DEFINITELY following this series!
THAT was fun! Love your hoard/barrel of Canadian cents too! That would take quite a while to go thru.
Now that the Canadian cent has been discontinued, the cents mixed in the US circulation are probably the only good way to CRH them.
Michigan has the highest density of Canadian coins of all the states that run song the Canadian border
@Jeffrey Davis I would think new York buffalo area etc near Niagara falls is high too
@@BenBartlow can confirm, there's a lot of them in Western NY
Wow Rob that's a lot of Canadian cents!!!
Nice to see the book filling up. Keep an eye out for any of the 2006 varieties. Some are very valuable!
Let's get it.... Been waiting to see what you got over the time.
Thanks Rob. I didn't know how many varieties there are. Very cool!

Some banks here in Canada will still give you pennies if you ask nicely and if they happen to have any. Pre-1997 Canadian cents are copper.

I did a fill of Canadian silver 10 and 25 cent coins after i bought several ounce in siver weight bags from LCS.

Cool to learn about Canadian cents, went through a box of Lincoln's earlier and found a 47 Canadian cent.
Could use some of the obverse change holes for varieties instead that aren't listed.

Now that you’re doing the Canadian cent album, can you please do a buffalo hunt and fill with your nickels?
I have those same books and the holes are real tight to put the cents into.
LOL they are!
They’re all pretty easy to find from 1940 on but the 20s and 30s are pretty hard to find nowadays.
I’m only missing the 1985 pointed 5 penny for my collection. I find a lot of Canadian cents in my hunts here in northern Minnesota
👍
Hey Rob, if you ever sell a Canadian mat, I will buy it from you.
Lets go Canada!!!!
Rob I can’t even imagine seeing your entire coin collection! Idk where you even keep it? 😂
✌️
I actually found a Canadian penny from 1913
I'm glad you are doing this "add on" hunt...pretty cool❗️👍 We probably get quite a few more here in Minnesota, especially 40's - 60's.

Minor correction: The P on some of these is not a mintmark - it's a composition mark :)
Thank you brother! I definitely wasn't fully sure why it was there but had my suspicions.
I’m still finding Canadian pennies occasionally here in Florida (due to Canadian seasonal residents?) even though it’s over ten years since the last were distributed and about eleven since the last were minted. Maybe Canadians bring their stashes here to spend? Seems absurd…
They've been in circulation for ages, probably nobody took the time to take them out.
Try saying that ten times fast.
Im waiting for you to find a 1936 Canadian Cent. 😁
The infamous 1936 Dot Cent? Now that would be AWESOME!
@@RobFindsTreasure According to PCGS there are only three of them..but the album says there are five. Not sure why.

My personal book did not have the proof strikes in it but now I am intrigued to get a new book!

I can make it available... Let me see what I can do!

The oldest Canadian penny I have is a 1917 large cent
Hello
🤘🤘
Kent
To be informed the P is not a mint mark. The P means it is PLATED steel
If you get to the 1930s you wont find the 1936 "dot" under the date because theres only 3 maybe 5 and theyre all spoken for.
For sure. Luckily, the book has that hole filled in due to that!
La monnai la plus rare dans le cent noir Canada 1800
La plus ancienne pièce de monnaie canadienne que j'ai trouvée date de 1863
If you do a hunt of the large jar of Canadian Cents are you going to do a slo-mo dumping it out??? 😂
MAYBE!
