I failed to find better headphones than porta pro. Sits on head so comfortable I can forget about it. No heat, sweating or itching (good idea to take off and soap wash the foam every few months). The open sound is perfect for games and for hearing doorbell or someone else speaking in the room. The scene is big, sound is lush and bass is fantastic for games and music. I also have ksc75 but feel I need to try them on some headband.. These are also easy enough to drive that they work from playstation or xbox controller super well
I bought these when I saw Koss headphones on sale at Shopko. I love Koss headphones, but I knew nothing of these. When I took them out of the box I thought, What the???? They were 1/3 the size I expected, and seemed like nothing! And then I put them on. I absolutely could not believe something so light and flimsy-feeling could make such powerful sound! Amazing!!!
great for traveling, easy pocketable...and no one will suspect the quality and power of sound packed in these little headphones...then again, KOSS knows audio and then some
I managed to snack 4 used for 14 euros shipped rn Was originally 20 for 6 but I missed out on that ;P Thanks for the recommendation, ksc75s have been my favorite and I can't wait to play with these and their drivers now that I got some spares
Thing is with KSC75 (that many people are not aware of) is that they used to be super great sound clarity and awesomeness and fun to listen to wise...like 2 years ago or so but now they are no longer the same...Koss seems to have changed their sound profile or something and I don't like them anymore despite them still having a crisp / treble focused and somewhat clear sound but they are just not as spot on and fun to listen to anymore (like their old batch), they are a bit too harsh sometimes and also I don't know as I've said they no longer sound in tune and as fun to listen to with music (and general sound), with that being said I hope my on the way Porta Pro's that I just ordered yesterday would give me the joy out of music / gaming I'm looking for for quite a while now..lately headphone companies are changing their headphones and turning them into a complete garbage, its hard nowadays to find actually good and fun headphones..I hope the Porta Pros won't disappoint me this time for a change.
Nice video! Even though I have higher-end headphones, DACs & amps, I’m a Koss junkie too. They have a natural midrange that’s hard to hate, much like the Sennheiser HD-650.
@@theavgconsumer And the mids on the HD58X are more recessed and thinner sounding than the Porta Pros. Porta Pro with Yaxi pads and Parts Express headband has mids as forward as the HD650 and a little fuller and more punchy sounding. Really like what the Yaxi pads bring to it and for under $50, a modded Porta Pro is one of my favorite headphones - really puts soul and rich sound into music. Other favorites are $500 to $1100 or so (modded Fostex TH-X00 Purpleheart and STAX SR-L300 Limited [L700 clone modded]). Enjoy all 3 equally. Porta Pro drivers + Yaxi pads + Parts Express headband + custom strap really optimizes the Porta Pro (cleaner bass, a little clearer sound, better detailed and a little more forward mids, slighty better treble presence, more separation, and little more open sounding)... and makes it REALLY comfortable. Less clamp is the way to go, which is why the Parts Express headband helps improve the sound over the stock headband. Can't ever go back to a stock Porta Pro now: photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-dvr7ZSQ/0/629bedb0/O/i-dvr7ZSQ.jpg

8:15, i wish i couldn't believe in burning in, but this headphones made me believe, mostly because when i bought them, i found that they were TOO MUCH muddy. Time passed, and something happened, and they werent so much different than my neutral headphones. The other thing is: they accept EQ very well. Never heard a sound signature like portapros, and people understimate them (even liking), because of the date and price point. Yeah, they're bassy, punchy, darker, this is the ''not audiophile tunning'' to ya, but they have good imaging, good soundstage, a BIG sound presentation, very punchy sound (thing i hate to say, but my hifimans with EQ can't produce). And a woody bizarre realistic upper bass. I think we need to give them a bit of love. I was listening to Death, the album Perseverance, and... this is the best headphone for lower midrange progressive metal. They gain a crazy body.
As you can see, I don't have that problem. But I've seen people simply take a piece of black electrician's tape and tape around that area. Keeps them from recoiling back and stops the hair pulling. (if that makes any sense)
I use to buy the porta pros all the time to the point where they’re just Chinese copies now. They use to have an L shape input jack then ever since the copies, the headphones lacked quality sound and didn’t last long. The design was good to do fitness stuff but I would rig new wires and have to replace cushions. I wouldn’t pay more than 20 for another pair...
I noticed the KSC75 also were used to be good like 2 years ago (when I think they were produced in USA if I'm not mistaken, were coming inside that yellow/white box) but now they lowered their sound quality or something is different about them and they are no longer as good or fun to listen to (now it comes with the red white box and is made in China I think..so that could explain it all)...it is sad that these companies ruin headphones these days.

That's interesting to hear. I've definitely found that as I've gotten used to more expensive headphones it impacts how I hear some of my cheaper favorites.

Completely agree. The only thing I have that are close to the Koss mid-range would be the Senn HD58X

Very good and comfortable headphones. There are no better at this price.
I like u can take these off the clip and put them on Porta pro body or other koss headband
I believe the KSC75s have the same driver as KTXPRO1
