I bought these when I saw Koss headphones on sale at Shopko. I love Koss headphones, but I knew nothing of these. When I took them out of the box I thought, What the???? They were 1/3 the size I expected, and seemed like nothing! And then I put them on. I absolutely could not believe something so light and flimsy-feeling could make such powerful sound! Amazing!!!
Faael is junk cable. Go with tripowin cables.
Every year i buy a new pair for like 15 years. Hope one day they'll make a version with replaceable cable. Btw i would recommend to never buy black version from mass drop, cable is even worse on those, despite them being pricier.
I have 58X and 6XX The latter is a bit tricky with smartphone, but I have better luck with MTK based smartphone and tablet without amplifier under most situations. I also have modified 58X and it's universal (almost all devices I have can be used) Both are my favorite I tried 560S but I don't like it
Why all the gaslighting in the comment section? He heard a difference, his kids heard a difference! Just back off, you "audiophile" hyenas!
Hi , since this message 8 months ago, I since modified my 6xx with custom cans bass mod which do improve the bass, at the moment in Uk 650 is now available for £229, so it’s a good buy, I also have 660s which I now use on ifi dac, I also changes both headphones with thicker pads too . Regards mark
Have the HD560s with ifi stack, would you recommend pulling the trigger and also buying the HD650? Getting itchy to try something in addition to the HD560s
I'm thinking of getting ATH m20x instead of upgrading the pads on the monoprice. You know if anyone has any expeirence with those? i'll take a look at the koss as well. thanks~!
hahahaha I forgot they stretch out like that. great video
Very informative review!
if I ever got extra money and spent it on higher end (+ i'd get an amp/dac too) set of headphones .. I almost have already decided i'd probably ... for better or worse... would go with the HD 600's
what if you just put a thin speaker metal mesh or grilles? wouldn't the solved all the sound blocking
Is it really a genuine 4.4 mm balanced cable coz there are a lot of fake ones out there?
@@fisherman9435 I too had asked genuinely. Didn't get answers but I have my answer from experience now. It does wonders with my Hiby R5ii. It's a great cable. Nothing fake about it. And on 4.4mm balanced it delivers the ampjuice that it is supposed to so much so that now I have forgotten about my single ended cables.
How is the cable now? Is it working fine?
i actually wanted that long cable for my setup, but received a short cable with my 560s. i think a lot of things have changed since the initial release of the 560s, many have said they are treble boosted or harsh... not true! my experience with them has been nothing but wonderfully flat and clear from a music creators standpoint.
I bought the 560s one week ago and the cable is so much better now, they changed it fot the better.
Yes, bought it 2 m9uths ago and the cable is perfect!
Sure, if you are using 560S to listen to youtube videos, it's going to suck to an extent. However, with high quality (CD quality minimum) music, use the 560S and it's outstanding. And very pleasant even with brightness up top. And by far one of the BEST bass responses and extensions seen in open backs. Your experience of the 560S is entirely opposite of mine. This also highlights HOW you use headphones matters. Like even the amps/dac you connect it to and your source quality.
I use the 560s with the oratory eq, and the Bass is insane, i actually like the bass without eq also, so I'm totally on your side, idk how much bass people want, its insane.
@@tinychamberz if I want bass hitting harder, I just push the "trubass" button on the ifi zen dac. But I mostly do not do that too. I love the stock sound as it is.
Have the ifi stack, very pleased with the improvements it brings to the HD560s@@RavikantRai21490
I recently bought the 6xx and I also have hd560s they both sound great, I tend to use 6xx with ifi zen dac v2 but the bass does come alive with bass button the the zen dac. I think he 560 is an around phone now going for about £130, but I agree 6xx slight better but as w said depends what music. Unfortunately the 6xx doesn’t now come in a hinged box but standard box abd the cable is now 1.8m(6ft) and made in Romania. Great video. Regards mark
Have the 560s with ifi stack, would you recommend pulling the trigger and also buying the HD650?
I'm using these very headphones, hooked up to an XBOX controller, to watch this video.
The Kph 30i with the grado pad mod is the only way to go with these headphones. SO much more comfortable. Overall sound volume is decreased slightly so you’ll have to adjust for that. Bass level seems better but not to basshead level whatsoever. I left the original pads on. Some have taken them off. Others have cut holes in them ect ect. I would say to try them with the original foam and if they sound good to you then just leave them that way. These headphones will last a long time if you are careful with them. ALLWAYS put them on and take them off with BOTH hands. DO NOT twist the headband. It will break if you do that. Just treat them with care and you will be fine. I love these headphones.
Hi , hd560s is a great all rounder headphone . Regards mark
I believe the KSC75s have the same driver as KTXPRO1
The maxsound has aux in. The storm doesn't. Cheers
Yaxi pads make these sing!
You made a mistake. Not best budget headphones. Just beat headphones when you put them on a headband. I like porta pro more because of bass
Dude: I bought that same cable and it is complete GARBAGE! My cable failed within 2 weeks and I threw it away completely disgusted. After about a week I noticed that this cable had my Focal Elegias sounding flat. Upon inspection I found the 4.4 interconnect failed because of flimsy cheap plastic. You must pay the cost to be the boss...Get a Hart audio cable for $65.
How is the durability of the KPH30? I mean it looks cheaply made... I'm afraid of getting one of these (which are almost impossible to get in Argentina and also curiosly expensive to ship here) and get it broken soon. Thanks
They are notorious for breaking on the headband where you adjust it sadly. Its where it transitions from a solid piece of plastic to two strips with a gap in the middle
I tried them and found they took all the character out of the sound. All the punch in the kick was gone from my PortaPro. I'd rather use Grado SR60 if I'm going for the bigger pads with wider sound.
I subscribed to your channel & didn’t even finish watching the video yet!!! Dope video my brother 👍🏿
Nice video, I've been thinking of modifying mine and making a hole seems the easiest mod i could do but i think just using a box cutter would be better since if i don't like it i could just glue it back.
The ideal frequency response for fidelity is one that is perfectly flat to the average human ear. What sounds perfectly flat to the human ear depends on the SPL. So the ideal frequency response for each range of SPL can easily be measured. The result of these measurements is called Equal Loudness Contours. Keep in mind Equal Loudness Contours are different for headphones vs speakers. BTW I have an audio engineering degree. I have measured and triple checked that the Sennheiser 560s/HD400 Pro is PERFECTLY FLAT to the human ear (EQUAL LOUDNESS CONTOUR @ STUDIO REFERENCE LEVEL 83db-87db average peak).
A most excellent and honest review. I have both gen. 1 and gen. 2. The sound quality alone was worth the upgrade for me.
Very good and comfortable headphones. There are no better at this price.
Modded - Bright. Not for me.
I have both of them , AMazing Headphones the best for the price. But HD 660s are overall better headphone in my opinion.
Did you mean the 560s?
Just louder... It is in your mind.
I saw a guy on ebay selling a 3d print that allows the use of larger pads. 55-65mm. Could you maybe check that out? Grado pads on Koss stuff seems like they'll be good
560s Vs 58x . Which one
i love the headphone that sony makes so good audio
Hello, Could you tell me if you know there is a different between Yaxi foam pads and Koss replacement foam pads? Are Yaxi pads really that good? Or, are Koss replacement foam pads no less than the Yaxi pads? Thank you!
I actually LOVE how long that cable is. Allows me to route behind my desk!
I Wish KOSS Would Make A 2.5 Balanced KOH30i
I Return Every KOSS Headphone Accept For The KPH30i Blue/White Variant They Were To Me The Overall Best Sounding . Here's Another AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied Headphone Below . . . . . . I Listened To My My Q45 Wired Passively Powered Off With No Issue At All As Soon As I Got Them And The Sound Is Amazing Wired Powered Off . . . . . SoundCore Space Q45 My Take For Wired Passive Listening I'm Using ZFold3 To Hidizs S9 Pro DAC AMP DONGLE To Space Q45 And WOW AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied . The Q45 ANC is really good SoundCores best yet Right Up There With My XM3s . The Space Q45 sound while punchy is not as punchy as the Life Q35 In The Bass Department . The Bass Up Feature can't currently be used with Custom EQs So it's Pointless for my Uses . We Can Listen To These Wired Passively (Powered Off) And The Q45s Sound Absolutely Amazing This Way . The LDAC Sounds Really Good And Gives Wired Listening A Run For It's Money . We Lose Many Features Of The Life Q35 With The Space Q45 . Hopefully A Firmware Update(s) Will Give These Lost Functions To The Q45 . The Q45s Are Heavier With Much Less Cushioning On The Top Where As The Q35 Are Lighter With More Cushioning On Top So Comfort Goes To Q35 . Both Q35 And Q45 Have Excellent Sound With The Q45 Punching Hard And The Q35 Punching Harder . I Enjoy Them Both . Amazon Has Q35 111 Dollars With Discounts And Q45 129 dollars With Discounts . You Can Turn Up The Q45s Bass With Custom EQs But Nothing I've Done Has Made The Q45s As Punchy As The Q35s . For Most I Think You'll Be More Than Happy With The Q45s Bass . I Know I Am . A Blue Variant And A White Variant Are Said To Be Forthcoming So I'll Most Def Be Snagging Them In White .
Now try them with a proper tube amp like the DarkVoice
The Yaxi pads are a wonderful edition to my Koss Porta Pros.
It sounds how? Can i listen to those in some way? If not get the fuck out of here...
Ksc75 with stock clips and pads are best
I'm buying these as a tool for mixing and EQing (via PC) recorded live concerts. I need that flat "boring audiophile" linear response for that. Yeah, I'll have to tame that 5KHz bump a bit with my Schiit Loki EQ to begin with as a starting point. I think for the price ($150 now in August 2022) they'll do that job nicely. For pleasure listening I can use the Loki EQ to bump up the bass or later on, I'm looking at the HiFiMan Sundara at $350 for "fun" music listening. As you said, "the perfect tool for a specific job". Thanks.
Would be great to get your feedback and opinions on running the Hd6xx with a fiio btr5 dac amp?? Cheers BTW, great review 👍
