One reason for the Briarwoods going to Whitestone was for the Green Stone "Residum" it has magic enhancing properties. The stone she held casting the spell was residum and that allowed the spells range to grow exponentially to basically raise all the dead in the city's area.

So some context as to what's going on with Pike:
Her deity is Sarenrae (Everlight in the copyright free version) who is a Neutral/Good goddess. As a Cleric, Pike's alignment must be the same-or relatively the same-as hers or else she loses her ability to cast spells. At this point in their campaign, Pike's alignment was shifting to Chaotic/Neutral, since she was a willing participant in the party's more heinous shenanigans. This little side plot is about her finding her new alignment (Chaotic/Good) so that she can continue being a Cleric of the Everlight.

A _literal_ "disarming" shot from Percy. 😁
9:40 - _"Any path can be a holy one."_ - *“I like this!”*
Yeah, Sarenrae ("The Everlight") is all about doing good in the world, helping those in need, and opposing the unrepentantly evil. She doesn't give a damn whether you do that by being an ascetic priest in a temple or by being a ale-swilling, hard-fighting, hard-loving adventurer out in the world. She will be with Pike either way. Pike's choice is not between serving her goddess or having fun with her friends, but which of those two is more authentically _herself._
Incidentally, Sarenrae is not from D&D like many of the other gods used for this world, but she's from _Pathfinder_ - the game system that the _Critical Role_ cast used for their home game, before they started streaming and _became_ "Critical Role". All the copyrighted gods are only ever referred to by their descriptive monikers to avoid licensing issues: "The Dawn Father" instead of Pelor, "The Knowing Mistress" instead of Ioun, and "The Whispered One" instead of Vecna.

    Theres actually a few ways in D&D to revive a dead person, mostly through magic, there are of course other ways as well depending on what your DM can think up. But the most common ways are;
Revivify (3rd Level Necromancy) - You touch a creature that has died within the last minute. That creature returns to life with 1 hit point. This spell can’t return to life a creature that has died of old age, nor can it restore any missing body parts. This spell is most common and tends to be used either in battle or immediately after.
Raise Dead (5th Level Necromancy) - You return a dead creature you touch to life, provided that it has been dead no longer than 10 days. If the creature’s soul is both willing and at liberty to rejoin the body, the creature returns to life with 1 hit point. Not as common but still extremely useful but this is a spell that is out of reach of a lot of low level players, so the best bet is finding an NPC that could have it.
Reincarnate (5th Level Transmutation) - An Exclusive Druid's spell, you touch a dead humanoid or a piece of a dead humanoid. Provided that the creature has been dead no longer than 10 days, the spell forms a new adult body for it and then calls the soul to enter that body. If the target’s soul isn’t free or willing to do so, the spell fails. The magic fashions a new body for the creature to inhabit, which likely causes the creature’s race to change. The GM rolls a d100 and consults the following table to determine what form the creature takes when restored to life, or the GM chooses a form.
Resurrection (7th Level Necromancy) - You touch a dead creature that has been dead for no more than a century, that didn’t die of old age, and that isn’t undead. If its soul is free and willing, the target returns to life with all its hit points. This spell neutralizes any poisons and cures normal diseases afflicting the creature when it died. It doesn’t, however, remove magical diseases, curses, and the like; if such effects aren’t removed prior to casting the spell, they afflict the target on its return to life. This spell closes all mortal wounds and restores any missing body parts. Coming back from the dead is an ordeal. The target takes a −4 penalty to all attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks. Every time the target finishes a long rest, the penalty is reduced by 1 until it disappears. Casting this spell to restore life to a creature that has been dead for one year or longer taxes you greatly. Until you finish a long rest, you can’t cast spells again, and you have disadvantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws.
Clone (8th Level Necromancy) - This spell grows an inert duplicate of a living creature as a safeguard against death. This clone forms inside a sealed vessel and grows to full size and maturity after 120 days; you can also choose to have the clone be a younger version of the same creature. It remains inert and endures indefinitely, as long as its vessel remains undisturbed. At any time after the clone matures, if the original creature dies, its soul transfers to the clone, provided that the soul is free and willing to return. The clone is physically identical to the original and has the same personality, memories, and abilities, but none of the original’s equipment. The original creature’s physical remains, if they still exist, become inert and can’t thereafter be restored to life, since the creature’s soul is elsewhere.
True Resurrection (9th Level Necromancy) - You touch a creature that has been dead for no longer than 200 years and that died for any reason except old age. If the creature’s soul is free and willing, the creature is restored to life with all its hit points. This spell closes all wounds, neutralizes any poison, cures all diseases, and lifts any curses affecting the creature when it died. The spell replaces damaged or missing organs and limbs. The spell can even provide a new body if the original no longer exists, in which case you must speak the creature’s name. The creature then appears in an unoccupied space you choose within 10 feet of you.
And then there's the most powerful spell in D&D arguably; Wish (9th Level Conjuration) - Wish is the mightiest spell a mortal creature can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter the very foundations of reality in accord with your desires. The basic use of this spell is to duplicate any other spell of 8th level or lower. You don’t need to meet any requirements in that spell, including costly components. The spell simply takes effect.
Reality reshapes itself to accommodate the new result. For example, a wish spell could undo an opponent’s successful save, a foe’s critical hit, or a friend’s failed save. You can force the reroll to be made with advantage or disadvantage, and you can choose whether to use the reroll or the original roll. You might be able to achieve something beyond the scope of the above examples. State your wish to the GM as precisely as possible. The GM has great latitude in ruling what occurs in such an instance; the greater the wish, the greater the likelihood that something goes wrong. This spell might simply fail, the effect you desire might only be partly achieved, or you might suffer some unforeseen consequence as a result of how you worded the wish. For example, wishing that a villain were dead might propel you forward in time to a period when that villain is no longer alive, effectively removing you from the game. Similarly, wishing for a legendary magic item or artifact might instantly transport you to the presence of the item’s current owner.
The stress of casting this spell to produce any effect other than duplicating another spell weakens you. After enduring that stress, each time you cast a spell until you finish a long rest, you take 1d10 necrotic damage per level of that spell. This damage can’t be reduced or prevented in any way. In addition, your Strength drops to 3, if it isn’t 3 or lower already, for 2d4 days. For each of those days that you spend resting and doing nothing more than light activity, your remaining recovery time decreases by 2 days. Finally, there is a 33 percent chance that you are unable to cast wish ever again if you suffer this stress.

"as long as you're not hurting others, do you" is a nice sentiment, but what about when your actions are actually hurting you?
God who created us knows us inside out, His intentions for our lives are good, and He knows what is best for us.
How best not to hurt others or ourselves is written down in the Bible. that is what I believe and that is what I aspire to live by.

This is, indeed, what you believe. Not necessarily something everybody else should do, though.
If someone's actions are hurting them, they should probably stop. But they should also be free to continue doing it. And if those actions are "hurting" them in some invisible, non-measurable, undetectable way, then no one is actually hurt, even if your book says otherwise.
