    The small details of this video show an impressive amount of research. However, the Avar conquests look much larger than they actually were. Am I to accept Heraclius could muster a 25000 strong army with the scattered remnants of 620 while still enough to garrison each remnant?

      I agree with you, I think that the Sassanids and the Byzantines should have made peace or at least an alliance in order to completely capture the Arabian Peninsula and prevent the emergence of the caliphate and Islam, then the Persians would have captured Central Asia and there would have been neither Seljuks nor the Ottoman Empire.

    Didn't Persia control Sogdian cities of Chach and Samarkand (modern day eastern Uzbekistan) After victory against Göktürks in 589? And did they actually go that far in Libya?
    Sharbaraz actually held Egypt until Heraclius helped him to throne in 630. And Jewish revolt was against romans, not persians.

      Sogdians have played key roles in iranian history. Not only were they the last brave warriors to defend the empire against Alexander, but it is also through them that persian culture flourished in the eastern lands.

    • @bpsalami9864
      @bpsalami9864 2 года назад +4

      @@hisholiness4537 Correct. Sogdians and Bactrians are strongly related to Tajiks ect. Iranians of the east. Also Khwarazmians were important in Iranian history. Alexander of Macedon didn't even try to conquer them. Central asia is one of the most interesting regions in history, and they're way too underrated.
