The 'Tarmac Works/Lamley' Mercedes looks very good, very "MiniGT-ish" as you said. The VW Santana from "Era Car" (also known as VW Passat in Europe) and the Nissan GT-R are nice, but for their pricepoint i'd expect these to all have metal bases (the ERA cars sell between 11 to 15 Euros each in Europe). "MBX City Drivers" and the "MBX Wagons" are nice 5-packs from Matchbox. Another nice episode. Happy Birthday Champion!
Happy birthday! I bought the Porsche livery Volkswagen T1 but I wasn't able to find the Mercedes-Benz 300SEL before Ontario toy stores (and the toy sections in Walmart and supermarkets) were shut down in early April (and they're still closed until maybe mid-June).
Happy birthday. The C63 AMG tooling's first release was in Sunbeam yellow colour followed by the Lamley release. The Era car stuff looks in line with Tomica Premium. The packaging is also about the same, they are just in a plastic blister than in a bag.
The only thing that I don’t like on the Tarmac Mercedes Benz is the spoiler. The car doesn’t have enough or a proper body kit to make the spoiler look nice
Lamley doesn't draw hate because he gets things for free - that would be a petty reason to dislike anyone. He draws hate because he works for the Man, hypes whatever the Man tells him to hype, thus fueling the scalper market, making it difficult for collectors like me to get the everyday, otherwise mundane stuff we want, that instead sells for 300% markup on eBay. However, as you say, he otherwise seems like a swell guy with a really nice backyard

But while the rest of us are all “What’s up with scalping?” and “Why are there so many supers available directly out of Malasia?”, all you’re doing is showing upcoming models. And when you DO respond to such issues, it’s always with dismissive comments like “Did it ever occur to you that it might be collectors?” and “It is what it is.” That’s where I get frustrated with Lamley: Because you’re not out hunting and everything is just handed to you, you are dismissive of these questions. Maybe because he is paid by some brands to say nice things about them when he reviews new releases? Tomica Limited Vintage is one of them. The brand is expensive, doesn't make that much detailed of a model and has paint problems. He hasn't mentioned that in his videos. Many people got into the brand due to the videos and now experience those problems. That's just one brand. So it's easy to see where the hate comes from.

Do you think Ferrari tells you it costs $5000.00 for an oil change? Do you think there customers care? @@sjc7773 the problem is, they are not considered as toys anymore. Look at how expensive the TLV Ferraris are. They are now going for triple digit prices from their $60 retail price. Which was overpriced to begin with. Then there is hotwheels RLC. A glorified mainline casting which cost $30-40 when new is now going at crazy prices with Hotwheels screwing over people at pre orders while Lamley talked positive about RLC. The main point is that if someone has reached to a level where they are considered as influential in the diecast community, they should be honest about the brand and the model they review and not just be like a sales man as there are new people getting into the hobby which buy these brands based on their reviews.

A point to add is that he's not an employee but a paid reviewer as he gets stuff from brands for free to promote them in a way. I personally don't even watch his channel and stuff and buy what I like. But for you to say that 1/64 cars are toys and not investments is a very wrong assumption. I have cited some examples and there are many more in existence. Also, 1/64 cars are premium collectible models now and have come a long way in 10 years.

Hot wheels are larger than 1/64 in most cases.
