Vietnam war and the Củ Chi tunnels

During the French colonial period ,and leading up to the American involvement in the Vietnam war . A series of tunnels appeared during the Indochina war 1945-54 against the French colonists. These were primarily to provide shelter to the Việt Minh , and once the Americans arrived they began to expand the Củ Chi tunnels into a series of vast underground networks .
Folks thanks for taking the time out of your busy day , this trip to Vietnam is a little side Quest to our normal traveling around Australia . It's funny how people go to Vietnam andgo to all these war sites yet in the sixtees blokes were doing a runner overseas to get out of conscription. Gutless wonders
