Great video. Funakubo has a positive record against each of the foreign Olympic medalists. 2 wins and 1 loss against Klimkait 3 wins over Cysique 1 win over Gjakova And she is tied 1 win and 1 loss to Deguchi.
Thanks for the corrections. According to her Japanese wiki page she has beaten Deguchi twice and lost once. She beat Deguchi at the All Japan Juniors even though Deguchi is 3 years older.
Nice video. Do you think Funakubo goes to World Championship this year? Japan sends one for each category but two for one or two classes. I guess Tsunoda and Funakubo have a chance as well as Olympic medalists of these categories.
We'll have to see how well she performs in the All Japan in April. And beyond that in the grand slams until October. I think there's a good chance she's going. She is the current All Japan champion in her category, surpassed Tamaoki and Yoshida didn't take gold in the Olympics. Tsunoda definitely will get the chance to defend her title. Unless she gets injured or something. Other than that I don't see her out of the next World Championships.
@@reymysterio13__50 Yes indeed. All Japan Weight Category would be so important to Funakubo. The head coach of Japan Women National Team, Mr Masuji, reportedly said after this Grand Slam that Funakubo had finally reached Yoshida and Tamaoki's level , which suggests the winner among these three in the All Japan would have a great chance to go to World Championships.
At the last world championships Japan sent a separate team for the world teams event, so even if she isn't selected for the world championships, she'll probably have some matches as part of the teams event.
@@ましょちょう Tamaoki has a strong head to head record with Yoshida and Funakubo, but her results against the leading international players aren't as good. She's my favorite of the 3 to watch because her newaza is so varied and aggressive.
@@non-stopnewaza9266 people don't like to see injuries in this sport . I don't like it because the winner does not get a chance to wait till treatment is over. Usually the refs order them to leave the mat
Thank you! You made a good job introducing the fight between Cysique and Funakubo!

Cute and strong.
can you add a compilation clip of injuries in woman judo ?
It's a good idea. I've thought about making something like this. How many clips do you think would be needed for a good video on injuries?
@@non-stopnewaza9266 well not exactly sure but for a start maybe 5 or 6

funakubo never lost to an european judoka
舟久保はマングースです。フランスの女子柔道家は太刀打ち出來ませんね!
舟久保さんは寝技の名手ですが、足を抜くときに逃げられるのがちょっといただけない。まず上を固めてから足を抜かないと。
