    I am new to the Wild Water Carp fishing scene here in the US. I am learning a lot from many anglers here. I am the kind of angler who likes to not only talk about a certain topic, but like to see it, diagnose it, understand it, understand everything about it, not just tying it. This video is awesome! Thx Julian. I will be searching for more of your videos. Well done, and this is exactly what many newer anglers need.

    Absolutely brilliant Jules. Great precise instructions at a speed you can take in and understand.
    You explain as to why you do things the way you do them to give the best mechanics of the rigs.
    The PVA description is Bob-on I didn’t know sunlight affected pva so much. Thank you for this 👌

    Very well explained, always amazed at the level of thought you put into what some people would call the basics.
    Thanks Jules.

      it covered everything i can think of. I've ordered some nash twister chods to try. can possibly get away without the shrink tube then.

      MrRorfac3 I prefer it with shrink tube to be honest.

  • @onewhisk

    Great detail Julian, I too have used this rig for donkeys years the thickness if the wire on those bait screws will stop the end loop from rubbing against the hook wire at the closed eye wire. This is important as a long battle with the loop against the eye of the hook can wear through the loop...the thick wire of the bait screw mitigates that problem.

    Excellent video Julian. Thanks for taking the time to go through all that. I realise Nash probably paid you to do it, but masses of interesting stuff there. Off to make a combi now. Never used one, had recent success with the D rig, which is similar.

    Brilliant video. Why does Julian favour a curve to a chod and does he worry about the loop slipping on the cast?

      Darryl Clarkson I can't talk for Jules but I use Curve shanks for mine because I love the aggressive shape. Drop him a message on Facebook or Twitter and I'm sure he'll respond.

    Great vid, could you tell us how to attach the ring swivel to the leader plse?

    • @HoboCarper
      @HoboCarper  8 лет назад

      +Kevan Murr the leaders come with loops on the end so you just attach the leader to swivel via the loop i.e pull the leader loop through the swivel, then pass the other end of the leader through the loop and pull it tight on itself.

  • @glenbrown345
    @glenbrown345 4 года назад

    I know I'm late to the party, but is it possible to use a pva mesh bag with this rig, or will it pull the loop shut? Cheers.

  • @Kev4nMr
    @Kev4nMr 8 лет назад

    Thank you for quick reply, I have tried this only then I am not able to pull the swivel into lead clip.

    • @HoboCarper
      @HoboCarper  8 лет назад

      +Kevan Murr try and get the loop as tight on the swivel as possible and it should fit. Make sure to lubricate the loop as you pull it down, this will help get it smaller.

    what knot 4 defusion leader to mainline?

  • @benjaminrhodes9582

    How is the hook length attached to the leader - just via the plastic peg in the lead clip?!

    • @HoboCarper
      @HoboCarper  8 лет назад

      +Benjamin Rhodes Hi Ben, it's tied on to the big ring swivel. If you watch from 42 mins it shows you there.

    what knot 4 defusion leader to mainline?

    • @HoboCarper
      @HoboCarper  9 лет назад

      I use a loop knot. Not sure if Jules uses the same. Hope that helps.

    • @MrRorfac3
      @MrRorfac3 9 лет назад

      Jim Mozart Like Matt said.
      i'll tie a figure 8 loop knot in my mainline. pass that through the leader loop and then pull the lead clip end of the leader through the loop in the mainline.
      I do this because i know my figure 8 knot better than i do a grinner or blood knot and its easier to switch or remove the leader.

    • @Scree1972
      @Scree1972 9 лет назад

      +MrRorfac3 What if Leaders are banned? What would would you use instead? They are banned at most of the waters that i fish.

    • @HoboCarper
      @HoboCarper  9 лет назад +1

      +Scree72 Carpe Diem, I'm fishing a water that has banned leaders and I just use a lead clip straight up with about 12 inch of tubing. Everything else will work the same.
