    I work for Scott/TOG, I hear you about the packaging issue man! We've taken care of it! Great video!

      I have just bought one. True, the package is very easy to open and seal again. Great release. You can be proud to bring a product like this. Had some minimal issues with Anchor release, sent it for repair, customer service was outstanding.

    Great video Stephen. You always do a great job explaining how everything works. I really appreciate that. Thanks for the help 🙂

    Received my Ascent today, partly based on this video. I am always surprised how few archery products allow micro adjustability. A lot of products are too course for a sport requiring such precision. I got the 3 finger release in large size because it was much cheaper than the Medium. As it works out, the Large is what I need. Other than the lousy packing by the seller, the product is nice. I tuned it after work using my modified dry fire tool. I am loving the release. It comes with spare rubber bands....which will break or dry out, and the instructions are great. Simple operations, great fine tuning, great release. Thanks for the great videos, I am old and new to RUclips but I love these reviews. Very interesting from an owners perspective, but your knowledge is appreciated.

    I bought myself one of these for Christmas. I paid $300AUD. Thus far, I have left the click on and have played a little bit with the click-to-release distance. I have the 4-finger model, because I have quite large hands. The weight of it is really nice and the release action is smooth. Because there's lots of surface area around the fingers, it doesn't feel like it's digging into your fingers when you draw a higher poundage.
    I definitely recommend tracking one down that you can try, once you can leave the house again, of course.

    I would highly recommend this release to anyone.
    I have had one for about 6months now and it is probably my favourite release and I have shot plenty of releases.
    This is a must try release, especially if you currently have a Longhorn since the handle is almost identical.
    Personally, I think it is a much nicer release then the Carter Total Control that also has 2 micro adjust moons (not lockable though). The Ascent really fits the hand well and the locking moons for click adjustment are brilliant.

    I have been shooting a lot. My Scott Long Horn 3 is getting lots of use. But it’s time for another and I want to add in ” try” a click and the Ascent is the one I want. I want to set how long after the click the shot breaks and this one does it. Local store 5 minutes from my house has them in stock!! Thanks for making great reviews.

    Old vid, I know. There are no reviews on this release, and just purchased this based off your vid...thanks. I had a Longhorn for a hot minute, and it was a great release in its own right. If this is anything like that one, I’m stoked to get it.

    I own several carter bt releases only being my goto, I bought a b3 ghost and like it only complaint too light needs to be heavier like the carter. I just purchased this release and the ultra view hinge 2 looking fwd to shooting with both! It’s hard to beat a carter only and I have medium hands my carters are all smalls, the UV 2 and scott are both mediums! Thanks 😊

    Good thorough review. Just sent back a Tru-Fire Sear which was a disappointment. The Ascent was my second choice (went for the lower price tag....ugh) so hopefully it will be a better fit. Based on your review I am feeling pretty positive. Nice job mate.

    I just bought an open box for 72 dollars, coming next week, I'm a little nervous about using a hinge!, I have the Trufire Synapse and I like it, we'll see how I do with this one, I hope I don't lose anymore arrows!

    How does it compare with the Carter and Nockon dual moon models for adjustability and maintaining it’s set point?

  • @johnwilloughby6033
    @johnwilloughby6033 5 лет назад

    I have 2 of these, and really like them, however as my hands sweat, with the release being polished, it gets very slick. I have lost my release down range twice. I had to use some tape on the release in order to hold onto it. This has got me a little spooked and I have gone back to my Scott Backspin, until I can get over being spooked.

    I owned serveral back tension releases over the past. The HBX, the Sweet Spot and the Ascent. Personally, at the beginning I was very confident in the Ascent. But after serveral practise hours, I have to say, that I dont like the Ascent. I had serveral miss shots, because the arrow went off without being on the target. I guess, its my fault, but for me, the hot zone to hot.

    Hi Steve, congrats for your reviews. It help us a lot.
    I start to shoot with hinge release. I intend to buy a new one. In your personal opinion, what is the best hinge release in pe formante and ergonomic ?

    Yes you can use braces rubber bands for replacement thats what I used on my Scott release aid ( I forget the model its about 4 years old )

      I’m looking for my first tension release and was looking at the B3 ghost does the lightweight make it harder to use? I figured it would be nice to be light weight

    Will it be able to function without a rubber band?

    • @johncarpenter6219
      @johncarpenter6219 3 года назад

      Yes, it’s only used to reset the hook. You can just reset the hook with your finger, much like a Tru ball fulcrum flex, if the band breaks.

    You are talking about the Carter Only as a comparison but i think you mean the Carter Total Control because i have the Only and this one don`t have a click and also isn`t micro adjustable.
    Did you have tested the Fulkrum Flex from TruBall? Because i want to change to a micro adjustable moon but can not decide whether i should take the Total Control, Fulkrum Flex or the Ascent because i already tried the HBC and this one was too straight for my fingers.

    • @ArcherySuppliesLonsdale
      @ArcherySuppliesLonsdale  5 лет назад

      Yes to turn the Fulkrum click off you need to spin the moon and it has a spring it can be fiddly.

  • @davidbarton1188
    @davidbarton1188 5 лет назад

    Hey Steven. Nice review. Have you tried the fulkrum flex yet? It's awesome and easier to adjust (tool included). Are you on Instagram yet? I met you in Vegas as you let me try out your stabilizers on the practice range one day.

    • @ArcherySuppliesLonsdale

      Yes - I like it but turning the click off scares me. I can do it, but sometimes it takes me 15 minutes.

    It's not that a lot of people dont want to try them before they buy them. If they are like me the only way to try them before buying them is if someone has them. I have a small shop I go to, to buy my stuff and they dont order a lot of high priced stuff unless you order it.

    What if those bands break on the draw, or in the shot somewhere?

    • @liamboyle9199
      @liamboyle9199 5 лет назад

      Well, it isnt going to break on the draw because the hook will be up against the moon. The band will break at some stage due to repeated stretching (probably after a shot) and won't cause any issues.

    And also the sheer amount of plastic is stupid and is a waste. It is only done to have shelf "presence" over other makes.
