My father is Doctor (MBBS). I had IBS, for which I took treatment for more than 3 years, but no luck. Then my father who is doctor himself, took me to his friend who is ayurvedic doctor (vaidya). He enquired about me, my lifestyle, eating and sleeping habits examined me and then told me it would take 6 months to cure. I took the medicines for around 7-8 months. This was in 2015. From then till now it's been 9 years in 2024 I am all good without any medicine.
I suffered from gluten related injury and IBS from the age of 14 after introduction of wheat in Kerala. By 26 intestine snapped and started bleeding. Necrotic intestine. I survived. Most allopathic medicines like flagyl were banned. By 37 I took a Bengali with acute Entamoebic infection to a 90 years old ayurvedic sage. I also followed instructions irregularly. My Bengali friend was completely cured. I got intermittent relief. Now I am 75 I watch with scorn gastrologists still in infancy with around 16 nonsensical medicines.
My mother was given 1.5 years by Doctors due to liver condition. With ayurvedic medicine she managed to survive 8 years. I believe in ayurvedic medicine.
Yeah. No doctor gives you 1.5 years for a liver condition until and unless it's hepatic carcinoma (cancer). Even then there are transplant options which can't cure cancer but prolong life
Also survival bias, many other patients being treated with ayuveda having same disease would have died. But we won't hear from those people complaining about ayurveda. But here you are because somehow your mother survived longer than the doctor said, so it's definitely because of Ayurveda
there are multiple factors whic can affect whatever liver condition ur mother had. also there is no gurantee tht ur doctor gave the best timings. there are multiple cases where doctors estimated the patients lives and they outlived them. so nothing new from ur interpretation
Ashwagandha causes liver damage he said, but that is when you take too much of this, and also there is liver damage done when taken paracetamol, multivitamin, etc

And it's doctors themselves who told us this, modern medicine constantly finds it's own flaws and works to eliminate them. Unlike snake oil that is Ayurveda.
Ayurveda practitioners do not respond to the debate or such discussions with proper evidence. They have faith and tradition which is default to them, no changes yet.
What the doctor is saying is that there are some side effects with ayervedic medicine. What he is not saying is there 1000s of side effects in modern medicines as well.
But at least those side effects are well-known and well-documented. So the patient can make an informed decision on its own. But in the case of Ayurvedic medicines, those are marketed as 'natural' and do not have any side effects. They aren't even tested.

I am glad you are presenting on this topic - In the example you give of ' Jaundice " and that Ayurveda would treat them all the same - That is simply not true ..A skilled practitioner would not treat them all the same. they would read the pulse and examine the tounge - examine the quality of the speech, the eyes, ask about urine - color/ quality and quantity - same for stools- ask about sleep - ask about life stresses, ask ' what else has the jaundice person tried and has there been any benefit? I admit I am an Ayurvedic practitioner ( that is born in the west - so I was raised with Allopathic medicine and I value it too ). However, I would use caution to say " Allopathic medicine is a scam with the pharmacutical companies making contracts with allopathic hospitals - that ' require" MD s to " offer" what even new ( expensive ) drug that has been created -( even tho the old - or generic version may function quite well ). Please note - if I had Heb B. - I would likely go with an Allopathic route initially - to get blood work / exacting scientific tests , ect. then use all of my knowledge of Ayurveda and western herbs to support my liver. Please Please stop vilifying alternative forms of medicine - we would do better to create systems of confluence rather than exclusion
But the question still remains unanswered here and elsewhere.....Does ayurveda have something similar to scientific evidence for their claims of treatment of severe diseases? Where can this evidence be found in modern medical literature?
@@paulmcilroy7508yes it is. After doing bams course of 4&1/2 year you will get to know.isn't it difficult to explain 5 year course here in comment section with few lines? Ayurveda is conceptful , tested and logical
The liver is the mula(root) off the the rakta vaha srotas(blood carrying channels) and any herb that is consumed has to get processed by the liver before entering into the bloodstream to be sent to the deeper tissues. An herb like Ashwaganda which is a heavy heating and unctuous herb that should be used with caution and is even contraindicated in conditions where many toxins(āma) are present in the body(which would automatically mean the liver is a bit taxed) coupling that with the amount of self prescribed Ashwaganda usage due to its effect on building muscle and reproductive tissue people have been taking very large dosages to try to “maximize” its effectiveness. Ayurveda says each and every substance can be medicine or Can ve poison and it entirely depending upon for whom, how much and when. That goes not only for herbs but any substance. This is another reason it’s extremely important to not self prescribe if in-depth insight into the action of these powerful herbs is not understood and why if one is wanting to consume natural medicine like herbs, to consult an Ayurvedic Vaidya(Doctor)
Ayurved is not something came out from the thin air. Its already used and prooved. the only problem it faces today is medical mafia companies. which never let them enter in market easily as they have already billions of dollars invested in. also, we should also not forget that the Ayurved scriptures we have today is less compare to what we had 1000 years back. becuase in Takshashilaa and other universities tons of our books are being burnt for months by invaders. @vivekc2471 @@vivekc2471
We can get so many research articles on paracetamol causing liver toxicity. Does that mean paracetamol shouldn't be prescribed? Does that make modern medicine a pseudoscience? Everywhere it's the dosage. It's that easy
Yes. That's why modern medicine doctors are taught about the side effects. And that's why these substances are controlled and only on prescription. That's why they are tested. And only when the risk to reward makes sense they are prescribed or approved. Nothing like this in ayurveda.
You know paracetamol causes toxicity if taken in higher dosage. You can literally search the dosage of paracetamol up and you will get the prescribed doses on the web, and also simple research articles. This level of evidence is not present in ayurveda. And this level of clarity of what happens if you take what isn't present.
In those same research papers there is mentioned the safe dose of paracetamol. It's 3 to 4 gms per day is safe. One can take it for few weeks. But long use and overdose can have rick of liver toxicity. That's why one needs doctors advice and priscription for any drug to use it safely and avoid it's side effects.
bhai shilajit kha kha ke tera dimag gobar ho gya hai kya? paracetamol aur dusre drugs mein likh hua hota ki doctor se puch ke khana koi chocolate nhi hai jab bhi man kare kha le. ye sab well researched hote hain but these herbs have so low effects. thats why they dont work but your brain thinks its working. placebo effect. baat maan lo nhi toh in scam mein pad kisi family member ko kho doge.
He said the formulations in our texts ( i m mbbs doctor from India so i say that ayurvedic textss are our texts) are not time tested not evidence based , he don't even know there are main 3 branches of ayurvedic treatment modalities Charak , sushrut and Vagbhat , all three have criticised same plants in different ways still reclaim each other views at some places they agree with each other and some places contradict ... What is this? Is it not use by different practitoner? The person is highly unscientific as he comments without knowledge
These arguments are not scientific. In literature or archeology, these kinds of arguments may work, but you have to conduct proper studies and prove the efficacy. It's a much better form of evidence. But we don't see the level of studies and trials conducted in the field of ayurveda.
What did you think is the reason why ayurveda is not allowed to be practiced in developed countries? Unlike Yoga, why did ayurveda treatment is not common in western countries

I know some Allopathic Doctors with a PhD Who prescribes Ayurvedic Medicine *Caripill* ( Carica Papaya leaf extract) to treat Lowered levels of Platelets caused due to Dengue 😅
An allopathic doctor prescribing a herb for a disease does not make Ayurveda a legitimate branch of medicine. The criticism on Ayurveda has always been this - there is no logic and precision in the ayurvedic formulations and no repeatability, consistency in the ayurvedic treatment. The pathophysiology of diseases as per Ayurveda are laughable at best. At the base of Ayurveda are the three doshas - Vaatha, Kapa and Pitha. What the hell is even a Vaatha? How do you PRECISELY define it, and how do you measure it? All developments beginning from this unverified, random and speculatory base is just going to be random.
Nobody practices "Allopathy" Caripill is not "Ayurvedic" its preparation is not mentioned in any texts. Caripill is a papaya leaf extract, which means it can be termed only as a "herbal preparation" which is different. Caripill (a branded papaya leaf extract tablet) and papaya leaf extract are thought to help increase platelet counts, particularly in cases of dengue fever. The exact mechanism isn’t fully understood, but research suggests a few possible ways that they may work: 1. Active Compounds: Papaya leaves contain bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids, tannins, and glycosides, which might play a role in stimulating platelet production or slowing their breakdown. 2. Thrombopoietin Stimulation: Some studies suggest that papaya leaf extract may increase the production of thrombopoietin, a hormone that regulates the production of platelets in the bone marrow. 3. Antioxidant Effect: The antioxidant properties in papaya leaf extract could reduce oxidative stress on blood cells, protecting platelets from damage and enhancing their function. 4. Anti-inflammatory Properties: In dengue, inflammation and immune reactions can reduce platelet counts. The anti-inflammatory properties of papaya leaf extract might help mitigate this impact and promote a quicker recovery in platelet levels. While studies show promising results, more research is needed to confirm how effective papaya leaf extract is in increasing platelet counts and to fully understand its mechanisms. When research is done understanding the whyness of the supposed result of papaya leaf extract and Caripill, then even this understanding will be included in the pages of science not "allopathy"
PM Modi, a while back at an AYUSH summit, mentioned how ex-Kenyan PM’s daughter regained her lost eyesight after ayurvedic treatment. This is an influential family with access to the best medical care available in the world. The daughter who lost her eyesight because of optic nerve atrophy had tried every other treatment under the sun before finally resorting to Ayurveda. The daughter, Rosemary Odinga said “My father met the PM and was full of praise for the traditional Ayurvedic system that has helped me. He also discussed bringing traditional medicines to Africa.” There are hundreds of such testimonials. I will not write off Ayurveda just because it's known as pseudo-science. It needs revival and of course a lot of clinical trials etc. but it will get there.

My father in law used Ayurveda for his diabetes and it made the condition so worse that he couldn’t stop bleeding when he had an injury. This has also caused his sugar levels go four times higher than normal. His condition worsened due to Ayurveda treatment. Even if you grow them organically all the seeds you get are genetically modified and won’t carry the same properties.

Modern medications are laboratory borne, thus they be tried and tested in labs. Ayurveda was DISCOVERED in तूरीय अवस्था (meditative state) so it CAN BE EVALUATED THERE!
A 42-year-old man in Kerala started consuming Ayurvedic "kidney tonics" after being diagnosed with mild kidney dysfunction. Believing in the natural healing power of Ayurveda, he avoided visiting a nephrologist. Over two years, his condition worsened drastically. By the time he sought help from a modern medical doctor, he was diagnosed with stage 5 chronic kidney disease, requiring lifelong dialysis. The lack of timely intervention led to irreversible damage.
I got some auto immune condition due to modern anti biotics usage And allopathy doctors gave some chemo medications and steroids for the condition. Got so many side effects post the medication. Now I am healing with ayurveda. This guy has very less knowledge on ayurveda and talking about the side effects. Kudos to you Ranveer for taking your stand on Ayurveda, its not urine according to what the modern science or like this doctor claims. These ancient texts have a wealth of knowledge but due to certain time periods in medical history they have been erased and right now there is a need of revival, as the core principle of Ayurveda has always been - | िक्षालनापदद िङकस्य दूरादस्पशवनं वरम ्। | Prevention is better than cure |
There is big difference between principle/philosophy VS medicine, Ayurveda definitely good for life principle or philosophy that could actually motivate them for living healthy life or atleast lead them for that but as medicine INDIANS should not risk their life just for the sake of proving it right. Remember a bad Modern medicine practitioners doesn't mean Modern medicine is not good. Ayurveda text AS medicine is written at time when they had nothing byt today you have every information why wasting that amount of money or resources on it just to prove it correct, instead use that money to lead those textual observations into knowing what we should not continue anymore be it from ayurveda or modern medicine, I mean are actually giving priority to those practice which were written at time of lack of info inside of your body...
Not only that. allopathic medicine companies are also scammers. they literally learn from Ayurveda and use the same thing in their medicines with other cheap drugs. While in Ayurvedic medicines we have natural substance only. People dont know that there are many medicines in the market who uses camel urine and cow urine in different medicines. but the problem of today's hindu is, they want to defame their own legacy. One of the top comments here say's that Their mother survived because she received ayurvedic medicine but here is the thing, that's survival bias... That's exactly what ranveer did, he didn't die and then started believing God 😂💀
Observation: when a person mentions out of the world substance to cure something or help us with something to ranveer,he immediately agrees and puts his out of the world beliefs to make it appealing to the audience and contrary when a person with substantial evidence objects the same ,he tries his level best to take it to the direction where he tries concluding that it can be proven wrong with this or that or other wordly possibilities. P:s - its fine as the person with hard evidence answers his questions which further solidifies our belief in the evidence based approach.
What I hate about these doctors are their Know All attitude. I agree there are bad apples in the system who have brought disrepute to holistic medicine practice, but to conclude that ancient systems are not scientific is absurd. Science itself is evolving and many reputed so called scientific theories are getting debunked every day. When he himself concludes researches are not done then how can he claim Ayurveda does not work. If he has the guts he should debate with Dr B M Hegde who is a medical practitioner and professor and I request Ranveer to facilitate this discussion
People are asking for fair debate with an actual ayurveda vaidya who has an actual degree in it. This shows that the viewers are not stupid to accept everything anymore.

The reason modern doctors don't recommend ayurvedic medicine is They don't get commission to prescribe ayurvedic medicine The reason no clinical trials were conducted on ayurvedic medicine is because it couldn't be patented if is already in public domain Clinical trials are for patenting the medicine
@@yoyodude-aoe2726the issue is that what's medicine for one need not be for another. In Ayurveda, the treatment goes like this : lifestyle, food, and only at the end, medicine. Ayurveda is not just plant medicine, it is a system of medicine. Ayurvedic treatments claiming to address the root cause of the disease does not change the fact that the principle of Ayurveda does not have any testability, falsifiability, repeatability and consistency. It is simply not any evidence based. Whatever you see about 'Ayurvedic trials' are just reports, anecdotes and very ill designed clinical trials. If it had these...it would become modern medicine!

1) he has incomplete knowledge of principals. 2) he is trying to pose things that fit his narrative. For example: in homoeopathy, if you give diluted doses of causative illness, it will cure the disease. The entire concept of vaccination is based on this. Live, dead germs in potent form and introduced in body. He said in ayurveda, there is no concept of causation. There are literally pages written on diabetes and kidney stones about metabolism illness, diet and chemical theory. He himself is not open to unbiased approa.
Complete nonsense. Administering tiny doses of live virus during inoculation to train the immune system to generate an immune response against the antigen is not the same as administering diluted doses of sugar in the patient.

Ayurveda doctors will not discount modern medicine. However Modern Medicine cannot coexist with Ayurveda. Not everything can be measured either. Energy is one example, if someone says I feel tired can you measure the energy that that person needs? Conversely when some says Thyroid levels is in the normal range, does that mean it's functioning correctly for that specific person -- even though the body has symptoms, such as fatigue and insomnia? No, THEIR body needs are different. We can clearly see modern medine has holes in analysis. Analysis is not exclusive for modern medicine either. The depth of analysis can be done for Chinese, South American and Indian medicine as well. Poor form from the doctor here, highly biased when he says even after two decades Ayurveda reasearch cannot change.
If thyroid is functioning correctly, you test the person for other things such as haemoglobin levels, vitamin levels etc. If all physical parameters are ok as per lab report, you do a psychological evaluation. 90% time you will be able to find a root cause using modern medicine and then it can be treated.
I listen and it’s not new for me, it’s more like a amateur lesson but is only for the public. I don’t know if someone can ask or answer a few questions? I’m trying to get some information but .. 1. Why a new born child is getting in the first 24h a hepatitis B vaccine if he doesn’t have an immune system yet? 2. Why in the modern new medicine is not being used “unknown “ instead of the term “idiopathic “? 3.Why PCR testing by amplification x200 isn’t considered pseudo testing for the same reasons why homeopathy is considered only placebo/nocebo ? 4. The mental health care diagnostic and treatment for patients is based only by Symptoms not even measurable Signs? Is a pseudoscience? Because don’t respect the 4 postulates of nothing nobody none…. 5. I’m trying not to think of something called impossible to get a patent for natural molecules but Synthesize the structure of stuff found in nature can be done? 6. In medicine one rule is: nothing is 100% safe, dose not mean anything? 7. Talidomida? 8.AZT?

Ayurveda is not just coronil or any particular brand. Just google the scientific research articles on ayurveda. You'll find plenty of published papers.
We have everyone from software engineers turned cookbook authors to Allopathy doctors bashing Ayurveda all the time. IMHO, any doctor worth his salt should refrain from commenting on a subject that he is not an expert on, except to advise the general public to not follow social media trends and self-medicate.

Huge mistake to bring this "pseudo doc" on your show, Ranveer. Please take the episode down. Not only is he putting the Ayurvedic Doctors down, He's ignorantly ranting about a 5000 year plus ancient system of medicine and the science of Life! People who watch your podcast regularly would think twice before consulting an ayurvedic doctor.
How does "5000 years" prove anything about it being science? Science doesn't work by this sort of illogical fallacy. No amount of pseudo nationalism and self-glorification of past is a substitute for Science. "5000 years" or "1 billion years" or belief of 8 billion people on Earth don't make a pseudoscience science. Modern medicine never actually promoted cigarettes, first of all they were not the tobacco based cigarettes that people generally consume.Ingredients included stramonium leaves, tea leaves, chestnut leaves, gum benzoin, and kola nuts.
Same I have ibs and. Taking ayurveda before I used gastro and homeopathy nothing worked

Nobody practices "Allopathy"
Caripill is not "Ayurvedic" its preparation is not mentioned in any texts. Caripill is a papaya leaf extract, which means it can be termed only as a "herbal preparation" which is different.
Caripill (a branded papaya leaf extract tablet) and papaya leaf extract are thought to help increase platelet counts, particularly in cases of dengue fever. The exact mechanism isn’t fully understood, but research suggests a few possible ways that they may work:

It's based on an intrinsic observation and knowledge of the body which may not be measured by the means we have now.
These people thought that because Ayurveda was written by our ancestors it’s superior. 😂. In that logic we should have been traveling in horses because our ancestors used to travel using horses. We should always have that mindset of accepting good things even though it’s hard to leave the pseudo science behind.

Science isn't trustworthy. We have seen the scientists flip flop over COVID. We have seen the science promote the big bang theory, which is just as atrocious as the Genesis creation story. The universe is a steady state and science denies that and chooses to believe their own creation story or version of it. Also ayurveda has been used for thousands of years and has worked for friends and family of mine. I'd trust personal experience over a piece of paper or internet study telling me what to believe.
The "trust the science" youtube community guidelines keep deleting my comments, but the empirical evidence has been inaccurate many times. They have been inaccurate on the pandemic, they have promoted the big bang theory which is their own creation belief, they have denied that the universe is a steady state, in favor of their own big bang narrative. I would trust personal experience from several family, friends, and loved ones over a piece of paper or internet study telling me what is right

This doctor needs mental treatment.. he speaks of Ayurveda without knowing anything about it.. I wouldn’t suggest anyone to trust their lives with this pseudo doctor.
Everyone should listen to what this Dr is saying . Keep out your emotions and listen it’s a matter of life and death for you and your parents.

Not only is he putting the Ayurvedic Doctors down, He's ignorantly ranting about a 5000 year plus ancient system of medicine and the science of Life! People who watch your podcast regularly would think twice before consulting an ayurvedic doctor.
How does "5000 years" prove anything about it being science? Science doesn't work by this sort of illogical fallacy. No amount of pseudo nationalism and self-glorification of past is a substitute for Science. "5000 years" or "1 billion years" or belief of 8 billion people on Earth don't make a pseudoscience science. Go for randomised double blind clinical trials and get them published in peer reviewed journal like Lancet, Nature. Then everyone will believe in Ayurveda. Otherwise keep saying whatever u or I want to say, it will not become science.
So 5000 year ago people know more about human body and medicine more than today's doctors ?
@@humanbeing4076It is not that Ayurveda is only 5000 years old. Ayurveda has been providing medical treatment since 5000 years. There have been a lot of changes in it according to time. A lot of research is being done in it continuously, so you cannot say that Ayurveda is only 5000 years old. you are not an expert in this, so you should not say such things. you people after trialing on 100-200 people, new drugs are brought in the market and then after a few months or years, many of their side effects are seen and people like you to favor them, then there is no problem.

About modern medicines, you know around 1940s USA doctors used to proscribe cigarrates as a medicine ? this went on for 20-30 years. later they found found the side effects. this is same for Allopahy medicines. look at cancer medicines, patients die because of side effects of medicines before even cancer could kill them.
Modern medicine never actually promoted cigarettes, first of all they were not the tobacco based cigarettes that people generally consume.Ingredients included stramonium leaves, tea leaves, chestnut leaves, gum benzoin, and kola nuts.
