I am so thankful I live in California. Because I would not want to raise my kids in a red state right now. This country is about to become the show Handmaid's Tale. Good luck America.
Canadian Margaret Atwood wrote The Handmaid's Tale. It's a novel. It was adapted for television by Bruce Miller. Atwood was a consultant on the television series.
Nah, see; I think MAGA is too incompetent to create a Gilead. Or at-least, that is what I'm telling myself to keep me sane & sleeping at night. Now, I may eat my words in two years. In that case... see you all on the wall, brothers!
Okay the person who wrote the book is from Canada. Okay cool. Is there a point to this reply to my comment? Or did you just want to say that because you think it helped my comment? Let me guess you think my comment meant that everything in the Handmaid's Tale would come true. Like the disease that made women not be able to get pregnant? Or women wearing bonnets. The point of my comment was to show that the USA is on the path to being run by a cult and thus we will see drastic changes. Women may lose their rights slowly but eventually they may not work or vote. That's what I am referencing. Not that women got some weird disease. But also do you think because the book was written in Canada that it could only happen in Canada? That in the USA that just elected a cult leader that the overarching theme in Handmaid's Tale could not happen? Humans and the society they live in only need permission to do evil to become evil from the top. That's a quote from a woman who was in Auschwitz as a 14 year old girl. Because she knows that if the top says it is okay everyone else can turn on you. Trump has given the USA permission since 2016 to act a certain way and to let the worst of us come out. He will continue to show us that it is okay to be a horrible person and to do whatever you want. If he does certain things like mass importation we will see in this country a level of violence we haven't seen in a long time. Because it will not be just law enforcement rounding people up. Militia will come together and "help" round people up. They will not ask who you voted for or to see your birth certificate. They will look at skin color and grab you. These people will resist as they should and we will see Americans die because they were thought to be immigrants. Not to mention tariffs will make inflation rise extremely high. We are about to see the USA get really bad. This will be something we may not come back from. It may lead to a second civil war and possibly states leaving. We may see the USA divide if things get really bad. But I guess there is no correlation between the TV series and the USA. Not a single thing.

The thing about fascism is that it doesn't do well in a society that prizes freedoms and liberties. Such as the right to bear arms, free speech-religion et al--most countries tolerate an extreme right element in their governments, but they never do well as a whole-Marine Le Pen for example created a reactionary element because the French are in love with their liberty. Fascism in this country is in bed with oligarchs who are pursuing a libertarian agenda-both are failed ideas that will create an enormous pushback--MAGA will create it's own end as we do not tolerate kings here and now everyone is a well formed militia. Every political action has a reaction.

"Don't worry its not going to happen..." - We heard that before with the abortion ban, the tariffs, and the dismantling of the voting rights act.. so when they tell you not to worry, you should worry.
We have to deal with 'the 4 Pillars' of Project 2025!
We need to do everything required to keep those pillars from being established.
These kinds of policies are bad for the U.S.
I don't understand what she means when she says she didn't pay attention until she needed to. Every adult and most capable minors always need to pay attention to what their government is doing and especially to the ones elected to office. If you don't, we run the risk of people like T'rump and the MAGAs taking over. I've voted in every state and federal election for the last 51 years. It is unimaginable to me that I would not pay attention.
Thanks for all you do, folks at Dark Brandon. And a shout-out regarding the lovely backgrounds for all your animations - the love and care you take with your work is evident.
They’re going to do away with affordable payments for student loans as well. They want to INCREASE the payments.
Fewer people getting educated is the plan of Project 2025. Of course, when we don't have enough doctors and engineers...oh, wait, we already don't have enough.
How has our shortage in doctors and engineers been made up? It hasn't, but to help, we've allowed doctors and engineers from other countries to emigrate here...oh. Right.
💙
I live in Canada and I'm worried about Project 2025. There are politicians who are carefully watching what happens with the idea of taking some of those policies and implementing them here.
There will be a tariff on that!
Donald 👿.
They don't care about us. So I think its time to leave.
project 2025 is what the 2nd amendment was made for.
2A is never gonna protect you from the military. 2A was written before bombs
@AuntieMamies false. Firearm history shows you're mistaken. Also, the 2nd doesn't apply to bombs and using military on American soil is unlawful.
Ironically yes
. Read it.
@@randominternetuser2888 The republicans don't care about laws.
America doesn't care about laws.
We just elected a *Convicted Felon*..
I feel for you. I grew up and spent my young-adulthood in Tennessee. And though I don’t live there anymore (and haven’t set foot there in over a decade) I worry about what will happen to me if the Repuglicans are able to escalate even HALF of the terrible things that they are doing there to the national level - and given how the election went, that is a real concern.
I'm so sorry for us ......
Worried seems to be too calm of a word for what I feel. :(
Daddy Trump is gonna save us all 😭
I blame you wholeheartedly for not paying attention! I would never ever vote for that man, but I knew what he would do and he’s going to do it!
The silver lining is he's old, overweight, and obviously in the fast lane towards dementia.
You need to be worried, we need to be worried, the world needs to be worried! 😠
America is probably done. If this place becomes a religious civil oligarchy hellhole, I'm take my savings and building my new home in another country. I'm NOT going down with the ship.
I live in Mississippi, where Project 2025 basically already exists. We also have children sleeping in CPS offices (and hotels). They don’t hide it or lie about it because MS is fine with it
I would like to follow her. Please post a link to her channel. I also live in TN.
