I expect them to spoil and try to disrupt the Irish patterns. IRL for the win, but closer than pundits seem to expect.

I think Ireland will want to be reminding those from WC poule C/D exactly what the divide really looks like. I'm expecting a ruthless approach/attempt at a statement from Ireland.
Though I think he's really a 10, I am genuinely glad to see Frawley get a start, and he's plenty of experience at 15 at Leinster. Surrounded (largely) by Leinster players and with Lowe especially beside him, if he nails his first few high balls (because you know Wales are going to test him) I think he'll do fine. Plus...his boot is almost as long as Lowes! Going forward, and with the return of Mack Hansen (eventually), maybe it might be worth having a look at Nash at 15? I know he's only played there once for Munster, but the lad is brilliant under the high ball, has pace aplenty and is a genuine attacking threat in space. If he could get the positional nous in place, he would be excellent cover for Keenan.
I'm a Wales fan, I'm really enjoying the play and attitude of this new young Welsh Team. I'm sure they will give a great account of themselves. In Gatland We Trust ❤.
I am Irish and we are taking nothing for granted, and Andy Farrell will make sure that the players are grounded too. Our team is good, most of our best players are available, they will come to the game well prepared, and they will work their socks off from minute 1 to the end. Strong looking team, very excited for Frawley. Hoping he goes well. His versatility across 10/12/15 is great. McCloskey does seem a strange call though, great player but positionally limited due to lack of speed/agility. Plenty of versatility elsewhere in the backlinr though. Yes, looking at what Wales almost did to Scotland, Ireland cannot afford a moment's loss of concentration and effort - this Wales team has the capacity to rattle anyone. Penalty count on both sides will be very interesting, as Tim pointed out.

Expecting a weak start from wales followed by flashes of brilliance, and flashes of 💩 all culminating in a comprehensive victory for Ireland, like last year.
Bealham getting a little paternity leave, and Doris fit enough to start settled the choices. I was surprised with the 6-2 and especially so with a out&out inside centre at 23. Like he did play well against Italy, and this is clearly rewarding lads for doing what is asked of them in training & matches, but surely Harry or one of the wingers around camp like Larmour or Stockdale would have given more versilitiy on the bench.
I would have expected this week to see Stockdale, Larmour, or Prendergast on the bench. With respect, I agree that it would take a catastrophe for Ireland to lose regardless, so maybe this is an opportunity to try something different and see how it plays out. That could be just as much an argument to give one of the other backs in the side a chance, though.

Always excited if Ireland beat France or NZ. Beating Aus is nice, Relieved to beat England but beating Wales and SA gives me joy like no other. Its the arroance of SA and then for wales its the70s , max boyce, the Jam slams, Gatland. The welsh banter is the best and they always play above themselves. Big big 6N shock if they win but they have done it before. These wins tho generally come if they play us first or after they have the wind at their back following a few wins. I think we can beat the spread.
If Ireland get off to a fast start ..... then 'God help Wales', coz this Irish team are ruthless and will not allow a comeback like in the Scotland game!!!
@eggchasersrugby I know, as a former teacher, you'll love your stats. Here's one: In Costelow's 7 appearances against Tier 1 opposition, Wales have scored 22 points and shipped 132 while he's on the pitch. In the same games, with the other fly-half on the pitch, Wales have scored 103 and shipped 76. Not sure what Gats sees in him.
It will a tough game with alot of Injuries Ireland have. Ringrose,Hansen,O'Brien,Furlong,Keenan, and Henderson injured. It will a tough game against Wales. 🇮🇪
Sorry to be picky (and apologies if someone else has pointed this out), but it's Caelan (Doris), Tadhg (Beirne & Furlong) and (Ronan) Kelleher. A+ for content, C for spelling! 😀
I copied the spelling of Caelen from the rumoured team in Irish independent yesterday...and I swear I write Tadhg with the g and h both ways round and it's always wrong 😂. Apologies...I'll get there eventually.
I do go on about this a bit but POM is performing well below conan even tho conan is an 8. Our skipper will not play anywhere near where baird was last fortnight. He'll squeeze in 5-8 draggy tackles and cary 2ce for a meter. He'll catch his lineouts.. the numbers don't lie
Even if he wasn't it is doubtful he would've made the bench ahead of either Ryan or Baird due to the latter's versatility. With Ahern coming up on the rails as well, shows you the depth in the position currently in the country.
Anything other than a 30 point win is a disappointment. There are levels and it’s time the Irish started acting like it, Ireland can play their best and win by 40, Wales can play their best and lose by 15. Being thankful for a bonus point win isn’t the mentality that’s going to drive success any more. A statement win (30+ points) followed by 2 more statement wins is the requirement from now on, otherwise what’s the point in playing the game, realistically?
I think the ref is Wales' best friend on Saturday. If he let's Ireland hit their top gear for 80, it's gonna get ugly. The hope will be he breaks up their flow for as long as possible. Even if he does, I can't see it being enough.
Wales are going to get smashed based on the lineup. My feeling is that Ireland, South Africa and NZL are the big 3 currently. France, Scotland and England are the next level down while Wales, Italy and Australia are a level down again.
Yeah form and experience it has to be Ireland. Munster fans are suggesting Bealham not selected becasue of new Baby, but don't buy it. Not after a down week, and at his stage of career, and putting together his best form in a Green jersey. No way his missus is saying, make yourself unavailable. He's the form TH in the country, no disrespet to Furlong who is a sound lad, but a shadow of the player since the back injury that kept him out for months, nowhere near his levels since Lions series loss in SA. He''s still only 31 so should be at his peak, but his minutes per game is way down in last few seasons. And what has Jaeger done in Seven games (4 starts, avg 33mins) for Munster to warrant Ireland shirt, not like he was a certain starter for Cusaders (19/53 starts in his career). I get that Bealham and Furlong are wrong side of 30 now, but shades of Michael Bent about the Jaeger selection. A lad who was dreaming of an All Black shirt until he missed out on RWC Squad (to his clubmate) last summer, jumps ship and lands ahead of other IQ TH's....?

Big big 6N shock if they win but they have done it before. These wins tho generally come if they play us first or after they have the wind at their back following a few wins. I think we can beat the spread.
Lovely Welsh Slams in 2005, 2008, 2012, 2019 and lots of RWC success. Your salty Irish tears are delicious 😂.
Your getting the Northern Ireland accent down to a tee, so you are, so it is,
Haha. Perfected by a few post rugby nights out at the Dirty Onion in Belfast
You’re a legend egg chaser ❤️
If Ireland get off to a fast start ..... then 'God help Wales', coz this Irish team are ruthless and will not allow a comeback like in the Scotland game!!!
Can you do an in depth show on what has broke Welsh rugby. How has ireland and Wales are so far apart but started from the same point
ITs hard to say if Wales become physical it could be close Ireland must not allow that or react to to Wales forcing red cards in Ireland and penalty's
Good Portadown accent there lad 1:51 😂
Ha. I'm trying
@@EggchasersRugbyyou should try a Kerry accent next time that will test your linguistics
@@EggchasersRugbythat's a shame as Clos is from North Down, keep trying.😅
@@vincenthickey9760what about the man from Strabane?😅
@@smythharris2635 He could make it in Hollywood in an XMAN MOVIE he's definatly an enforcer
I would never understand estimate any Wales team and nor should any nation
Keheller is a surprise (check spelling on last graphic)
It will a tough game with alot of Injuries Ireland have.
Ringrose,Hansen,O'Brien,Furlong,Keenan, and Henderson injured.
It will a tough game against Wales. 🇮🇪
Shows how much Ireland have improved. A few years ago with those players injured game would be hard to win
Errrrr, Doris is starting number 8
He came through i see.@@niallmcnulty4108
Ireland team has ,players for the injured blank spots, plenty of able bodies and newbies rising to the occasion to play for Ireland 🇮🇪 and good too!
I'm happy for Jager getting on the bench. I think he will impress
Take nothing for granted ! Wales will be a hard match for the Irish !
Ah, the Indo... 🙄👍
Let's see which halves Wales will play.
Loving the Nordy acccnt 😂
Keenan been out is big upset for Ireland as he can win on his own
Sure we can always put Ryan Baird on the wing.
Haha...very true!
Or Sheehan in the centres!
@@amancalledconorhow scary would that be for any opposition 😂. Would love to see it… could be a secret weapon for Oz 27 😉
Lol, pretty good go at the accent there!
What’s your score prediction Ireland v Wales Eggchaser?
The next two years are free hits for Gatland. Fin8sh 5th this year, fourth next, then they will have some shape
Surely some of the Welsh starters are good enough to be on the bench
Absolutely - but that' not how I do it - I just go 1v1, 2v2, all the way down to 23v23 - seems the fairest way to make the assessment.
Who?
Agree with your assessment of Ireland rugby but think England will pose a massive threat.
Hard to spin out a one horse race. Impressions for padding😅
Goin to be a spanking for Wales, should be fun to watch😅
loving the NI accent!!
It is not a norn iron accent if you don't use the word sichyayshun 😊
Why not play Henshaw at 15?
How come Wales are no good at rugby anymore?
Lowe Aki Robbie 💪☘️☘️
Frightening Conan can’t start! An absolute workhorse. Would walk into any other nation at 8 except maybe France
I think the irish pack (and subs) are gonna put a beating on the welsh pack
Henderson is injured Tim (foot) which is why he is absent.
Appreciate it...thanks for the heads up
Even if he wasn't it is doubtful he would've made the bench ahead of either Ryan or Baird due to the latter's versatility. With Ahern coming up on the rails as well, shows you the depth in the position currently in the country.
You may well have a point there, but it shows the depth of talent we have that a Lion cannot be assured of his place.
I wonder where is Finley bealham
On paternity leave
Anything other than a 30 point win is a disappointment.
There are levels and it’s time the Irish started acting like it, Ireland can play their best and win by 40, Wales can play their best and lose by 15.
Being thankful for a bonus point win isn’t the mentality that’s going to drive success any more.
A statement win (30+ points) followed by 2 more statement wins is the requirement from now on, otherwise what’s the point in playing the game, realistically?
Very excited for frawley
No Joneses against Scotland or England this year.
Baird could probably do a job on the wing in a serious pickle
Thanks Tim , although as an Irishman he always makes me nervous when I think “by how much “ I would say 20-25
ONE Welsh player in your combined 15!!! 😁They'll be spitting in the Valleys
What about bundee aki
Again, love it but could you get the spellings of the players right? It’s Tadhg not Tadgh. 🤷🏻♂️😂
I think the ref is Wales' best friend on Saturday. If he let's Ireland hit their top gear for 80, it's gonna get ugly. The hope will be he breaks up their flow for as long as possible. Even if he does, I can't see it being enough.
Who’s the new lad Keheller? 😂
Bet you baird could play wing if needed XD
No chance Grady gets in ahead of McCloskey!
Purely because he can cover wing, not in a straight shoot out as centres.
A Welsh team without anyone with the surname Jones? What on earth is going on?!
Unheard of
Wales are going to get smashed based on the lineup.
Jäger-bomb squad?
👏👏👏
Welsh in for a potential trashing...spicy weekend of rugby ahead. LET'S GO IRELAND☘
