I know this is old, but for anyone watching who wants to use Sierra, do yourself a favor and get her weapon upgraded just once (from 10 to 11). Its strength jumps from 53 all the way to 110, making her output double what you see here. And with the lightning rune attached she can rival your hero's attack.
1. I'm a bit sad Sierra doesn't get to actually wield the Moon Rune. I get that she doesn't want to become like Neclord, but it would of been cool as fuck. 2. Why is Karen's skin tone so different between her portrait and her sprite? lol
according to Wikipedia this should be the chronological order of the games: Suikoden IV (143 years before Suikoden V and 150 years before Suikoden) → Suikoden V (6 years before Suikoden) → Suikoden (3 years before Suikoden II) → Suikoden II (15 years before Suikoden III) → Suikoden III.
I thought Suikoden IV was still a decent game for the most part (though some of the sailing bits early on can be a bit much). It just has the misfortune of being called a Suikoden game and having that bar set so high. Suikoden V is great, but it does take some patience at the beginning. The pre-war story can take a little while, but it really does pay off and is well worth it.
I know Suikoden IV is the blacksheep of the Suikoden series, but it's still a really fun game. The sailing may be the one thing that turns people away, but a lot of people don't know you can sail faster by holding R1(running button as well) and you can turn in any direction really fast by opening the map, press X on any direction you please on the map and when exit the map, your ship faces that direction. Also, you can get Viki after you name your army, a few hours into the game.
I had heard that the developers originally intended to have Lucia join the 108 stars of destiny in Suikoden II, but that this idea was scrapped either due to time constraints or plot changes towards the end of the game. Which is a shame because I would have loved to have her playable here. Fortunately she gets her own time to shine in Suikoden III.
Thanks for the nod to S5 Lucah. Honestly in this game he's not much better than a Humphrey clone in gameplay, but if you look at the Richmond rumors you learn a lot more about him that foreshadows his role in S5. Since you played S1, here's a safe one: Georg was one of the 6 Generals from the first game. I presume he wasn't actually shown in the game because he would've KOed the entire party :)

Close-ish to the end. Just a few more areas left. But there's a hell of a lot of story packed in. The plans are used to build a statue in the castle. After the statue is made you get a couple rare items.

Excellent use of scrolls on the Bone Dragon. Suikoden games are primarily a game of resources, and scrolls let you be more confident that you can take on dangerous bosses without running out of spells too soon. It would be cool to see a Suiko 5 LP. I've heard many times that the writing in suiko 4 turned many people away from the series (I actually found that 3 was more of the problem, 4 just had some janky gameplay elements). But Suiko 5 is my favorite of the five main titles and is one of the best voice acted JRPGs of the PS2 era. Georg, Lorelai, Viki, Jeanne, and Killey all make appearances in 5 and pretty much all of the main gameplay elements are polished to their most perfect forms. Combat is more fluid, RPG elements from 2 and 3 are expanded dramatically to create the most diverse and customizable cast yet, War Battles have been improved to Real Time Strategy games with multiple fast moving parts and far less RNG struggles. And, most importantly, Suiko 5 has better Nanami. Sorry to the Suiko 2 fans, I don't make the rules. Suiko 2 is probably still the best written story from the series (you really can't top Luca Blight's arc and the culmination of the Riou and Jowy's struggle), but Suiko 5 is the most charming of the games. The characters are given so much greater range of expression thanks to ps2 and the voice acting in the game is strong throughout because none of the voice actors really phone it in, they seriously invest in their roles. And perhaps most importantly, 5 is the clearest expression that the Suikoden team could learn from things that didn't work (4) and seriously turn it around and make a better game with the knowledge they gained, it's the game that gives me confidence that if they brought the team together to do a modern take on the suiko games, I believe they could pull it off.
I know this sounds weird. But *sigh* can Luc come back. I always imagined Luc and Clive to be best buds or something, as they would just look at each other. Clive without Luc is just sad. #Cluc

As far as nicknames go in just pick random names right now but in the future yes I would consider naming a Pokemon after you but I am still in shock that my nickname was used for a bird. Perhaps Karen is more of a slow and sensual dancer than the quick twerker dancer?

Suikoden IV isn't all that bad. Granted it's not as good as the others, but it's not nearly as bad as I was told.
