    Very clear teaching!! Iv watched so many videos where they spend so much time talking but no showing us. Then they blaze through it.
    You break down every detail, foot work, hands, position.. GREAT!!

    My fiance and I set the lofty goal of learning to country swing dance for our wedding and this video is SO helpful! The way you break down both the male and female parts and isolate to show their specific 'job' at that step really took the instruction to the next level. Thank you!!

    Thanks! This type of dance bypasses the problem often found with country dance floors - too small or too crowded for a line of dance, which is needed for two step.

      Yes! We actually LOVE country swing (done well) It's a great dance. Easy to do. Lots of different music available. Not much space required. Expect to see more of this from us!

    What kind of music would you dance this to? You said in the video you would link some songs, but I don’t see any anywhere. Looks cute! I think it’s like a 4 count hustle. My husband and I did that back in the 70s. It will be interesting to listen to some song titles to listen and see if our steps and rhythm still work to country music!

    Great video. I have nothing against Country Swing, but without triple steps/rhythm like WCS, ECS, Lindy, Shag, etc., is it a 'Swing' dance? Did it evolve from lindy like the other Swing dances?

    • @WestCoastSwingOnline
      @WestCoastSwingOnline  4 года назад +5

      You know that's an awesome question Anthony. I'm not sure I have an awesome answer. LOL
      A lot of these dances, single time swing, jitterbug, east coast swing and probably country swing have their roots in 'swing' dancing. I can't say for sure what the roots are of country swing but I would guess it to be something along the lines of ECS done in country dance halls over the years. There are a ton of different ways it's done across the country (and youtube) What seems to be done in a lot of places lacks a structure. What we've tried to do is give it structure in a way that makes a lot of people able to learn and enjoy it. As I learn more about it's history I'll be happy to share :-) -Brian

      With the exception of W.C Swing, I've always known all swing to be E.C whether it be Lindy rhythms, jive, single, double or triple rhythms. That's the knowledge I've dance with for the last thirty years when it comes to swing dancing.

    "Hammerlock" comes from wrestling. Its a behind-the-back armlock.

    Instead of talking through the whole video, I would like to see the dance moves to music. Most of the "Country Swing" dancers at the bar we go to don't keep in time with the beat of the music and they mostly dance in the same space.
