Your content is amazing. Glad to see 'different' viable builds, than the typical maxed out sorc/hammerdin with perfect gear. I believe that everyone who plays Diablo II should also try to play single player mode, all the way through.
I recently did this with 2 HC characters.Lvl 52 zealer that died and a 84 concentrate barb that is still around.Playing in SP has one HUGE advantage that makes it a lot of fun,you MUST know how to use your gear effectively and build accordingly to the equipment you have at hand.
With that being said,I never devote myself to one build until late game and keep 3-5 skill points unused to adapt accordingly.That's whats so great about a permanent build system,it adds another level or strategic thinking to the game
I like to play in Battle.net because of there is more difficulty, monsters react quickly and a lot of things because its a ladder char. So I create a server with PvPGN and D2GS and I play alone there. The only disadvantage is that there is no "playersX". So I use loader and open the game 7 times more to fullfill a game ;)
Entertaining video! Another good alternative for single player WW Barb is the IK set. Great survivability and dmg on both single target and bosses. Combo it with Berserk for physical immunes. You also get a lot of mf with a couple of perfect topazes in the armor and helm. For my merc I use Duriel's shell for res and cannot be frozen and a Vampires Gaze for leach and dmg reduction.
How do you level up, until you have decent level of WW ? I mean, is there a mid-game gear, skills that you recommend? Like what setup do I run, before respecing into WW ?
For budget WW I'd stick with upped Butcher's Pupils or Razor's Edge. Pretty easy to get and they hit way better breakpoints. The other option I regulary aim for in single player is Ribcracker. That weapon is super dope, even on a barb (and it benefits from mace mastery). Dealing with ghosts is fairly easy with an act5 merc using Lawbringer (I think that's a non ladder RW). Obviously it is weaker in other cases.
Great video! I disagree about life being damage reduction, though, I think that's a misleading way to put it. Having more life does not make you take less damage. That's not to say that having a big life pool isn't great, because it definitely is.
Well that's just my way of making the point that what really counts is the percentage of life a received attack takes. Obviously if you have 100 life and take 10 damage you've lost 10% of your life, whereas that same 10 damage done to a character with 200 life takes only 5% of total life. The increase in life has led to less damage taken, in terms of percentage of total life.
if i buy the discs, can i play vanilla D2 on windows 10 to show my son the single player? Or do i need to buy LoD to get patch? showing him all of the old classics
I may not be the guy to ask, but years back I remember I could buy them right off the blizzard website, and you had to buy D2 and LoD separately, so I'm sure you can buy just D2 if you don't want to do the expansion. But if you do buy LoD as well you can still make a classic character. And you don't need the CDs, just direct download off the website.

lol word I always knew i was mispronouncing it, and I really dont even know how I started saying it like that. I think I had a friend back in the day who said it that way and I followed his lead (passing the blame). I've just stuck with it out of habit. But yeah I really like that in single player you find use for things that you never would in bnet simply because its not best in slot. In single player there are more constraints.
I'm not saying you used hero editor but i'd like to know how did you mule the items from one char to the other if you don't have plugy, because there's no way that 86 barb found all those items unless you're the luckiest man ever! I have a 92 MF sorc and haven't found Leviathan/ Highlord's / Dracul's / Grandfather and not even one Vex rune :)).
I actually have 2 computers to accomplish this goal lol. I have my laptop open running D2 with a character in a Tc/Ip game and I just join in and out with mules and other characters on my desktop. I just throw gear, gold, and shit on the ground from my good chars and pick it up with mules. It's pretty ineffective compared to something like plugy but it's kind of nice to do it without mods.

This is /players 1, personally i just dont fuss that much with players settings unless i'm using it for mfing. I'm sure you can beat the game with a ww barb on /players 8, but I'm sure it would be pretty hard too. Even my barb would probably have trouble at times on /players 8. It would be especially hard if you're just starting out with that character (ie not mfing and finding gear and xfering it over on plugy or whatever). That'd be a tough grind but if you're up for the challenge then go for it. You'll probably want to be fairly defensively oriented (in play style as well as gear). Also, will need a large amount of crushing blow. Also, see my note about Knockback in the description.
Sometimes de AI of the game makes harder the session adding more monsters and uniques packs. In players8 mode Lord of the Moons/Black Souls/Viperine Snakes packs are ver, very dangerous.

You REALLY should try making a server and play there alone. Make ladder chars and enjoy ladder advantages and increased difficulty. Single player characters are compatible. Just download an editor (Hero Editor works well for this) before and modify your character into a ladder char before importing to your server. Google PvPGN (Battle.net emulator), D2GS (Diablo II Game Server) and Battle.net gateway editor of course. Hope to see that barb fighting some ubers ;)

As I said quite clearly in my previous reply, and in other videos I have posted, I dont mf on this barbarian. I mf on my hammerdin and transfer the items over using GoMule. That makes killing much quicker. Also, killing baal is BY FAR not the most efficient way of finding high rarity uniques. Killing elites is. That's why pindle and ancient tunnel runs are so effective. Let's take the 1/20k number you cite. Yes, at certain levels of mf, GF will drop from baal about once per 20k runs. Okay, but you should remember that there are several other items that also drop at that rarity level (lets say there 20 or so). That means you can expect to find an item of equivalent rarity to GF every 1000 runs or so. Not bad! Very doable. (And you dont need 1000% mf, due to diminishing returns you can have much less and probably be about 90% as effective). Also remember that if you have found a GF, its very likely you will have found the other items you cite (ss, gores, levi, etc ,etc) along the way, since those items are considerably less rare than a GF. So if you have a GF, it would be more surprising NOT to see those items along side it. This is really just basic math buddy. I'm really surprised that someone could be so surprised and so indignant that another person found a rare item in a game. PLENTY of diablo 2 players have found these items.. its not an experience unique to me. Considering how i play and how much time i spend playing, it really is not surprising that i've found so many high level items. These items have been accumulated slowly over a period of several years (seriously, yes). Also, I'll just add that its not exactly a point of pride for me that i spend so much time playing a video game lol. It's really more embarrassing than anything else. But I dont get my kicks by pulling one over on youtube people i dont even know... its just not my thing. I like the game, and i like to share my experience with other people who appreciate it. Rob, tbh these items you've listed aren't that hard to find.. I have all these items you seem to thing are unobtainable. All on singleplayer. You just have to put in the time(Doing the correct MF'ing), which, clearly you haven't.
I have done some mf for about half a year (playing on and off) on several different characters in single player and I have found I believe all except 10 uniques in the game, including two Grandfathers. So the premise of your accusation is false. I mean, just look at the channel MrLlamaSC and his "Holy Grail Sorc" series. He even found Tyriel's Might for the love of god... Now we are talking about rare once in several lifetime finds. Beside the main point of you comment, the game is by no definition stupid =)

So the premise of your accusation is false. I mean, just look at the channel MrLlamaSC and his "Holy Grail Sorc" series. He even found Tyriel's Might for the love of god... Now we are talking about rare once in several lifetime finds. Beside the main point of you comment, the game is by no definition stupid =)
