Snorkeling in Memories Jibacoa, Cuba, Nov 2023

- A short movie of our snorkeling experience off the beach of the Memories Jibacoa hotel. We got lucky to meet a local fisherman who took us about 250-300 meters into the sea to enjoy the picturesque view of the wonderful Caribbean sea landscape, the corals, schools of fish, and the deep deep blue abyss where the coral reef ends.
I used an Insta 360 One RS to record this video, but as I didn't have the underwater case, the stitching wasn't good enough and I had to do my best to at least share the cropped footage. Next time we'll be ready to record and share a proper 360 experience with you. For now, I hope this video will give you a good enough understanding of what to expect if you dare to swim far enough.

Great video. Im going to Starfish Jibacoa. Did you bring your own snorkeling gear or can you rent it there?

Looks to be about 25 feet. Is that right off the resort?
That was quite deep indeed!
There is a restaurant right at the beach in Jibacoa. And these reefs start about 200-300 meters into the sea right in front of this restaurant. But pretty much all the way to that spot it was shallow enough for us to stand in case we had to adjust our gear, so it's not scary at all.
However, the first part of the video shows the area closer to the shore. It's quite fun there too. This is where you'd easily find lots of fish, and that's where we even found a small octopus too
Thanks for responding. Jibacoa snorkeling looks to be pretty darn good.I hope the food is decent. Good snorkeling is so important to my wife and I,we love it so much. I’ve dived and snorkeled since the 1960’s,mainly in Tobermory and Lake Erie Ontario. I finely bought myself a drysuit,lol
@@adamsons2890 you definitely need one in Tobermory! My wife's surfing video from there is totally overdue. I hope to get to it soon.
As for the food in Jibacoa, this time around it was very good! We even had an ostrich and lobster served almost every night. But always remember to check the latest reviews on TripAdvisor or similar sites before booking as in Cuba it can change quickly.
