I feel the exhaustion in the final hours and working nonstop in a shop for so long can get old! You all are doing awesome and love the content and buildout. We also punted some mechanical upgrades to get back on the road and we'll solve upgrades when we can on the road and know the feeling. I want a Dana 70 axel and wanted to do it myself but waiting for that opportunity hopefully next year. More importantly for me was to get on the road and feel free and not keep delaying for an ideal rig. Can't wait to see it all in action! 👏
By chance, I came across your Unimog videos, and I was hooked from the very first moment. After that, I started following the build of the TGB and watched it all in one go. Now I’m completely caught up and have to wait a week for the next episode. I absolutely love your work and can't wait to see what you come up with next - keep up the amazing job!
You two give off genuine positive vibes based on your achievements. No-one "owes you" anything. Keep moving on. BTW the sun seems to follow you wherever you go.
It's so nice to see the relief when you got your french visas! That's a lot of weight of your shoulders! And the interior is looking fantastic, your enthusiasm is so great to watch. I hope you will get on the road soon so that you can escape the winter that is lurking around the corner. However, October can also be great in Skåne. November, maybe not so much.
Fantastic part of the build, well done on the water system, glad to see you learnt from the trials n tribulations from Bowser. The interior looks awesome
Congrats Chris on your visa! Ange it must be really hard picking up Oakley, Hope your hand gets better soon. The Cartland’s from Australia travel with a toddler, for sure can answer your doubts 😊 Water Inspector Oakley made the day. Great work guys, Very impressed 🙌🤩💛💛💛
well done guys, it looks so amazing and what great workmanship in the kitchen and plumbing and wiring. cant wait to see a video of you guys traveling about in this
Turning out excellent and obviously pleasing for you Chris to see your efforts coming to fruition. It's a learning curve but you should be proud of the workmanship. Your dad would have approved.
I am wishing for you the quickest and most smooth return on tracks and roads thru Europe !!! If you pass by the south of france , I will be glad to meet you 😊
Well done guys, great progress so far. Just one point, can I suggest that the water heater pipes behind the O/S/R wheel really need to have a guard to protect them from stones etc off the wheel, should they get damage then you could run the risk of overheating the Volvos engine, just a thought. Keep up the great work. 👍😎
What an awesome transformation! Good call on delaying the engine conversion, I reckon. Never heard of anyone finishing one in the time they estimated, there’s always “something”
Just a thought for the sink drain , I was going to do basically the same thing in my camper for a drain , but I was going to dump into a Tupperware type container divided into 2 sides . The divider would be to pieces of course screen with that fish tank angle hair filter stuff in between the 2 screens . One side the water would come in , the other side would have a bilge pump so you can pump it into your canister or away from the camper , and the filter in the the box will catch all food rest chunks , which will help with critters and the extreme tree huggers trying to say your polluting area . I have to the build as a whole is very impressive. You have done a great job I wish you 3 safe travels.
Been following you since the start of this build, and I must say it's becoming amazing. Really, really great work! ...& BtW: bulgur originates from the Middle East, but has become quite popular in Scandinavia during the last decade (& or two).
Babyzen yoyo is a great compact pram. Folds to a carry on suitcase size. We've traveled with our 18month old in our campervan. Its designed up to 4 year olds
Build is looking great, the piece of wood covering the glove box would make a great place to put something like the "Garmin SmartDrive 86 Car GPS Navigator" or something similar.
Water system is really interesting and well thought out. How about just using the external vents for when you’re filling the tanks. Then putting a little tank breather with six mil or eight mil hose coming up inside the vehicle to decent height. In that way you can keep the external ball valves closed all the time. Relying on there always being a, vent internally that is kept clean
Great episode, and the new OutFit icon looks really good. Chris your dad would be very proud of your carpentry skills the cabinets look wonderful and am glad that you kept the wood natural. Now that you're nearly done with part 1 of the build you are going to have fun getting the shop cleaned up. LOL can't wait for your next post. Many thanks for the posting. ☑✅✔
Great Video! Good call on the motor replacement later on. I just did my first adventure of 5 days of off road driving in my C303 and it was amazing! Off road its amazing! On road a bit slow but that is ok its like my old vw busses. Fuel mileage is really bad though. Enjoy!
Stonking! Thats a cracking conversion. Chris's carpentry has come on leagues and bounds. He should be really chuffed with what he's done. Also, great news about his visa. As a Brit, I'm jealous of the opportunities you have to live and travel in Europe. Happy travels.
Get a Babyzen Yoyo stroller. They fold up to the size of a pizzabox (or a stack of pizzas!). Will fit in the overhead baggage compartment in a plane. Ours went round the world several times with our 2 kids. Sold it recently (for a profit!!). Best in class.
@@TheOutFit they are great for use on smoothe surfaces , they have tiny wheels so nit good on rought terrain. otherwise the Yoyo is brilliant . not much storage in it but that's what backpacks are for ;-)
Would echo this. We travel in our campervan with one. We've dragged along beaches and on muddy paths. It's also light enough to pick up and carry over obstacles like stairs... or rocks 😂
@TheOutFit We have the mountainbuggy nano, it folds up very small and fits in the overhead compartment of a plane. We love it and it is a great travel companion! The downside is, that the small wheels are not so good for off-road use or on sandy beaches.
Excellent work really very impressive! You made so much progress and can be proud of yourself and everything you accomplished. Just one thing about your walky-talkies, be very careful using them in Europe and make sure you only have publicly allowed frequencies on it. There are quite substantial fines tied to using non legal radios and disturbing e.g. flight, emergency response, military or other federal government frequencies. 😉🇩🇪👍🏻
You could make a mount on the side of the Volvo so the table can double as an indoor table and an outdoor table. Had an old camper (Solifer) that had that option. Just a suggestion.
the build is looking epic, can you out the poptop roof down with the floor stacked to one end or do you need to move them back over the hole each time you put the roof down?
Should make a cover for those tank vents otherwise they will get contaminated/plugged from the dirt fligging up from the wheel. Awesome video guys, so excited, its so close to take out exploring!
They have caps on them. However, something like a mud-flap would help to keep debris from clogging up around them. I'm still not clear as to where they intend to go and in what season, but if somewhere where there is a lot of snow, then they will find that the wheel wells will clog up with a lot of snow which will freeze if not removed. More than mud, snow would be the biggest nuisance to accessing those tank connections. It all depends on where and when they intend to travel.
Baby zen yo-yo fits in an overhead locker. Can be carried easily as well on your shoulder. We have two kids and started with a massive upper baby vista. It now never gets used.
You should see if there is a single axle trailer that volvo made to be used with the 6x6. You could then build that out to be a mobile garage/storage option that you can take with you. Good way to transport tools, spare parts and other such stuff.
Nice built. Suggestion add a grey water tank under the rig with a discharge spout on solenoid accessible from the driver seat and the kitchen. Discharge it above a storm water man hole in any parking lot. Nobody will notice it.

In Sweden Caravans either has as waste water lung or solid tank that you put on the ground when you park. A waste water lung is compact and could be carried to a drain
Carbon .. is heavier than air and cools quickly. When you boil an electric jug and put dry ice in to make fog at a theatre it falls from the stage into the orchestra pit. Even CO2 from engines which starts at hundreds of degrees Celsius at an exhaust manifold rapidly cools from the exhaust pipe and runs off the side of the road causing taller weeds at the road edge. Water vapor holds heat better and rises which is why water is 99% of the greenhouse gases. CO2 rises when carried by steam. Carbon monoxide is much lighter but still you want to measure the Co2 at Oakleys cot height where it might puddle
Mountain buggy nano is awesome for toddlers! And has the advantage of being so small and light it can fit on as a carry on bag on a flight too so you can take on board.

Would it not have been a better idea to wire the camera to the reversing light only so every time you put it into reverse the camera will come on, no need to turn the lights on as the reverse light doesn’t require the lights to be on. I have done this in a motorhome before. Loving the series. Well done
Outnabout v5 nipper sport pram is Highland blue would match your colour scheme. 12kg 3 wheeler pram with front brake. I have one and it's best pram for walks off the beaten track. Wheels come off and it would fold down nicely in the roof bag
A bit too heavy for my liking, our current pram is 9m5 kgs and I'm trying to reduce weight! It does sound like a cool pram though 👌 thanks for watching!
Is there an expansion tank in the pressure water system? I have experienced that it saves the water pump by keeping it from turning on and off very often.
Great video again! And as a dad of 4 I might advise you to just not use a pram… it takes a lot of space and most times you can use the baby/kid carrier.
We sold our baby carrier, Oakley seemed uncomfortable in it past 15 months and he's quite a bit heavier than most toddlers his age! Thank you for watching :)
Before you know it he’ll be out of it. I lugged a 15kg Steelcraft/Britax pram around. It carried everything but happy wife happy life right? Interesting fact that pram made a lap of Uluṟu. The path isn’t sealed which is why it is memorable I guess.
Im not afraid of the sharpness of the box. But it seems to interfere with your shifting, thats driver ergonomic nightmare :/ I might be wrong but it looks like it. But I must say the camper looks great! I hope you will do some offroading here in Sweden. Its a swedish 6x6 after all ;)
Chris, you should have worn a lab coat 🥼 🤓 while explaining your high tech water 💦 filtration system. Glad everything’s coming along. Kinda wish you would’ve built a box cover to protect the water fill connections in that wheel well. So, no cup holders??? Now for your French language… Maybe Ange should start speaking to you in French/English and then you can respond. Absolutely, your Dad is right there with you and certainly very proud you 👏 All the best Lou🇺🇸
@@TheOutFit If you are keeping the swedish registration of the truck, you will have to do a new register inspection (registreringsbesktning) after swapping for the diesel. On the other hand, if it is more than 50 years old, you have done your last inspection and might get away with it as long as no one from the authorities is looking to closely out on the road.
i am not from europe but isnt Copenhagen a part of Denmark and not Sweden? i feel it was a little middle finger from Denmark to that area.. other than that.. the build is looking great. love that black sink... nice touch.. and your water filtration system is amazingly efficient.
Not too sure why you think that? All I said was we would prefer going to the French embassy in Copenhagen rather than Stockholm because it's closer for us. Thanks for watching :)
@@TheOutFitI just saw that, understandable. I would count on the TGB needing about 25 liters per 100km in that config, and 98 octane with lead "surrogate" to not burn the exhaust valve seats. And that is at around 70-80km/h. Doing 90 or more you'll see above 30 liters per 100km.... the military dropped the allowed max speed on the TGB13 we had when I last did my military service back in the 1980ths to 50km/h.... why, well I'm not sure. I hope your conversion goes through flawless and that you can get it less hungry. Excellent build! 👍
If you are traveling in Europe or North America you may have to be careful with the waterfilter in their wheelwell because in winter that is going to freeze and crack.
Concernant la planche de bois "velcrotée" pour fermer la boite à gant, une idée est de faire plutôt un plateau horizontal avec des rebords pour poser des affaires.

Not too sure why you think that? All I said was we would prefer going to the French embassy in Copenhagen rather than Stockholm because it's closer for us. Thanks for watching :)
How viable is it to live full time in a tgb? I will soon have to move in to mine due to economic troubles
Well we haven't lived in ours yet but as long as it is fitted out to suit your needs living in a vehicle is feasible.
Halfway into todays video, when engineswap? Or do you plan on making it fully roadlegal first?
Answer at the end 😄
@@TheOutFitI just saw that, understandable. I would count on the TGB needing about 25 liters per 100km in that config, and 98 octane with lead "surrogate" to not burn the exhaust valve seats. And that is at around 70-80km/h. Doing 90 or more you'll see above 30 liters per 100km.... the military dropped the allowed max speed on the TGB13 we had when I last did my military service back in the 1980ths to 50km/h.... why, well I'm not sure. I hope your conversion goes through flawless and that you can get it less hungry. Excellent build! 👍
Is there some kind of pressure tank or do you need to have that sound always when using water? edit: Ah it was answered later in the video :D
Phd in truck plumbing, self syphoning does my head in. It's Witchcraft I say.
Looks like could be ahead of schedule...
A lot of progress was made this past week! Thanks for watching :)
Do You habe a link for the water flowmeater?
It's an Aussie unit called Topargee
If you are traveling in Europe or North America you may have to be careful with the waterfilter in their wheelwell because in winter that is going to freeze and crack.
Good point, we can easily unscrew it from its mount and store it inside. Thanks for watching!
You need some cup holders in the front
On their way 👍
For your lights “mighty car mods” done a video on how you can hook up a relay to turn off the lights if you accidentally leave them on
Australian UHF CB's are NOT legal to use in Europe. It's an Australia only frequency allocation.
So impressed with your woodworking...but why not hide the hinges on the inside??? Would've cleaned up the fascia...
