In March 2023, U.S. Climate Envoy John Kerry met with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Oaxaca, Mexico, to discuss U.S.-Mexico collaboration over renewable energy. It was announced that the United States would commit to invest in at least 10 new wind and solar parks in the region - already one of Latin America’s top wind power hot spots.
But there’s a problem. These wind farms there have been largely constructed and run by foreign transnational corporations. Residents say that while on the surface these wind turbines are generating clean energy, they have been disrespecting communal land rights, stiffing local residents money owed for renting their land, and refusing to benefit the local community with discounted or subsidized utility rates. There are also major concerns for the local environment.

Clean up my farm or I will cut your windmill down.
Colonisation still happening. Amazing how in an effort to make clean energy, corruption is still infectious.
It's capitalism. Success is a matter of profit. Everything else is just marketing.
Wind and solar aren't a climate solution. Just a profitable business.
Ok why is a French company putting wind turbines in Mexico? France is a little far from Mexico to farm energy.
Because they’re terrorists, like most of the west… OK, all of the west
Profit. They’re not storing energy they’re making money from it.
why didn't mexico put the wind turbines there? They didn't make the investment.
@@davidanalyst671 that is an even better question. The cartels have plenty of money to invest in wind energy. Maybe they should switch their focus from drugs to saving the planet…
…..
Maybe question all the corrupt politicians at federal and local levels, but obviously we should consider that we're dealing with organized crime with a political branch here.
Sure, but the international businesses providing these wind farms are also responsible in or for the corruption. The thugs attacking the innocent Mexicans referred to in this TRNN report also work for these businesses, and these businesses should be held accountable for the pollution caused by their faulty wind mills, plus their disregard for cleaning up their environmental pollution. That disregard definitely makes these businesses guilty, rather than only the Mexican govt being guilty. Their unfair employment practices makes them additionally guilty for acting against human rights.

Even more so paying them like they says they would gif some willingly giving up their land and to those who didn’t!
From what I hit they aren’t paying anyone like they says they would, so basically they stole the land for their own wealth!
And to top it all off no one in any community is seeing a reduction on their utility bills!
So there ya go !
I would think it is just simply a company with a not very ethical CEO and no regulations keeping him from behaving unethical.
@@mikecorbeilno they don't work for the wind company. They work for the landowners in the area that want the lease money.
Amen. Think about it. Extortion, conspiracy, numbers racket.(lottery),immunity from prosecution, It is by far the most powerful criminal family in history.
Those wind turbines kill so many native birds...smh
So Wise , Thank You , If they are so productive , WHY are MOST of them NOT moving?
Maybe they really don't do maintenance.
windmills only run if theres enough wind to make money genius. They don't run 24/7
Wyoming has the best cradle to grave and land restoration rules for wind farms. They have a lot of experience. They followed what they did in strip mining coal, same simple rules.
Wishing my old friend, Sn. De Flores, all the Love, that we are. Take good care of Oaxaca my Brother!
People have tried to explain to dummies this "green energy " isn't what they think it is.
So you didn't comprehend the video, lol.
Political corruption reigns
How much oil are these turbines dropping? I think greed is what's hurting people, the wind turbine might not be at fault here.
4:00 I want one of these three wheeled vehicles… What are they called?
yes, genius. They are only located.... in every single country besides the USA and europe
We have the technology to back coal more efficient or develop new nuclear power plants that don't use uranium
Wind turbines are not the solution they require constant maintenance
so nuclear and coal don't require maintenance. Thats your point here.
@@davidanalyst671 Would you work on wind turbines in the North Sea
They require maintenance and are not recyclable
New nuclear technology has made them smaller and more efficient
Everything requires maintenance
One nuclear plant would occupy a few square miles and triple the MW output of all these wind turbines combined. Not to mention hundreds of highly skilled technical jobs. Nuclear will save humanity.
Only an idit would say that nuclear is better than solar and wind.
this is the typically effects of the filthy greed and corruption of corporations making a mountain of shit from what should be a fairly benign area of industry
People will realise eventually that renewable energy is not the primary way we act on the climate breaking down. It should supplement us slashing our total energy consumption, rather than just replacing all of our current consumption.
Well it will be. The key word "renewable"
Yup, they have everyone focused on just this one fraction of the problem. They don't want to talk about waste or micro plastics or all the shit corporations are dumping in the water ways. plus a thousand other horrific things. They definitely don't want you to talk about how the top 100 corporations are responsible for 71% of all pollution, yet the plan is to make the tax payers of the world pay for any clean up.
@@adeptus333777 The 100 corporations stat I’m not too big a fan of because at the end of the day, we consumed what they were producing. We were brainwashed to consume it by neoliberal politicians, but we still did. And most people still do excessively consume without a second thought. That’s not to say the corporations don’t deserve blame. Of course they do. But it takes two to tango as well.
Sounds a bit anti-humanist to me.
All fine speaking from your position of privilege in a first world country economy, what about the billions earning a few dollars a day?
Energy is life for them.
Do you even know how much Co2 is actually in the atmosphere??
0,4% plants die at 0,2%.
Not much leeway is there?
@@christill we use what they produce, does not stop them cutting corners to improve their bottom line, whilst keeping their prices competitive.
Billions in profit doesn't all come from sales!
Would legally binding contracts help?
so foreign companies bring issues to mexicos communities
The true "spirit" of eco terrorism.
Chemtrails and turbines. Green future
Yeah it would be so much better if they were just digging up oil instead...
No one loses their hearing from wind turbines FFS! What is this bs...
Easy to take rent payment in electric power.
What happen to the current Mexican president I thought he preferred nationalizing the Engery sector similar to the lithium
Newer models of turbines dont make as much noise. what they need to do is hire some of the poeple to work on the windfarm from the community.
Local use of solar and wind at the place of consumption. Wind farms and solar farms are just profit centers. You can do off grid solar with or without batteries. Used solar panels are cheap. The batteries are not. Just replace the load while the sun shines.
Easy to take rent payment in power.
Headline: WIND FARMS ARE BAD!1
Content: capitalism is bad
Wind turbines are not the answer. CO2 is not the problem.
Burn more oil and coal huh? lol ok
@@djinghiskhan9199 You will NEVER get 100 per cent power from only solar and wind. They are always backed up by fossil fuel that can provide power 24/7. You've been duped, conned, lied to, by environmentalists you poor thing. Do yourself a favour and read 'Green murder' by geologist Ian Plimer before you next open your mouth.
Kerry doesn't know jack about the environment or climate crap. So does Biden, Obama, Thunberg or Gates etc.
🦝
I heard that cops can't use there emergency lights to pull you over , for a traffic stop is this true or not ?
Renewable energy is the future; however, corporate control is not. These turbines should be owned and operated by and benefit the local community and be scaled to their needs. Capitalism will not save us - even Green capitalism
These turbines kill an excessive amount of native birds to the point of extinction within the next decade
I make my own electricity with a wind generator.
Clean and quiet.
Thank you Mr. Putin, for paying for this video.
Disgusting 😢
